ABS-CBN's late night gag show 'Banana Split Extra Scoop' poked fun at the rape case filed by beauty pageant contestant Roxanne Cabanero against actor-host Vhong Navarro in its episode aired Saturday (March 8).

In the said spoof, Banana Split focused on Roxanne Cabanero's changing statements regarding the date of the alleged rape. It can be recalled that Roxanne first said that she was reaped on April 24, 2010 but later denied that her camp gave a specific date when Vhong's camp showed evidences that the actor was actually in a concert that time.

Angelica Panganiban to John Prats: 'Lahat ng ex mo, nakaka-away ko'

Actress Angelica Panganiban gave a heartfelt message on bestfriend John Prats during the latter's birthday celebration on Banana Split Extra Scoop aired Saturday night.

Angelica thanked John Prats for being selfless and a true friend who will make you laugh and will cry with you in times of problems. Because of that Angelica said that John deserves all the blessings. Angelica then started to get emotional before saying, "Kaya nga lahat ng ex [girlfriends] mo nakaka-away ko eh, kasi sinasaktan ka nila."

Jericho Rosales Joins Toda Max, John Lloyd Cruz on Goin Bulilit this Weekend

Matinee idols and highly acclaimed actors John Lloyd Cruz and Jericho Rosales take their acting skills to different places starting this Saturday (September 14), as they take on two of ABS-CBN’s comedy shows, Goin’ Bulilit and Toda Max.

First up would be Jericho as he stars side-by-side with “Toda Max” cast members Angel Locsin, Vhong Navarro, and Ai-Ai delas Alas. In a different take on the popular kiligserye “Be Careful With My Heart”, Jericho will be playing a popular celebrity chef, often referred to as “Sir Chef”, who arrives in Beverly Gils to promote his cooking show, “Be Careful With My Cooking”. Lacking a chef assistant, he hires Justin (Vhong Navarro) to show off his cooking skills. However, when Justin joins Sir Chef behind the scenes, he discovers a secret that could ruin the celebrity chef’s career.

Meanwhile, as a light-hearted reminder to keep safe these days, Lloydie will be part of showing the funny things that could happen when it comes to relief centers and evacuation operations, while having fun with Philippine television’s favorite kids on the hit kiddie gag show “Goin’ Bulilit”. The kids will be delivering gags about the sticky situations that kids and adults can get themselves into—also serving as caution to keep away from harm. He will also be joining Aaliyah Belmoro in the segment “Mutyaya ng Masa” and Clarence Delgado in “How? How? With Islaw”.

In keeping with the current times, “Banana Split: Extra Scoop” also stays up to date this Saturday (September 14), as Melai Cantiveros has some things to say about her relationship and pregnancy. Aside from that, the cast will also be giving their take on the recently concluded Star Magic Ball, and Donya Bading (Jayson Gainza) will be taking on the role of Janet Napoles in the segment “Hot Issue”.

The hit teen series “LUV U” also taps into conflicts that should be resolved, as Marj (Mika dela Cruz) decides that her friends Lexie (Alexa Ilacad) and Shirley (Sharlene San Pedro) should also come to a truce with the boys of the Breakers, Benj (Nash Aguas), Drake (Jairus Aquino) and Archie (Kobi Vidanes). Will the long-running quarrel between the teens finally come to an end and will new relationships finally be formed?

Iza Calzado on 'Toda Max,' Banana Split Gang in Davao this Saturday (April 13)

From doing heavy drama in teleseryes and movies, Iza Calzado will switch to comedy this Saturday (April 13) as she unleashes her comic side in ABS-CBN’s sitcom “Toda Max.” 

In this week’s episode, Lady G (Pokwang) and Ka Iza (Iza Calzado) portray political rivals who are running for councilor and will do what it takes to win the hearts of voters.

However, behind Ka Iza’s angelic face are her evil plans against Lady G just to secure her victory. Lady G, together with her political strategist Justin (Vhong Navarro), will be put in jail as Ka Iza accuses them of being gambling lords. Ka Iza will also call a press conference to defame Lady G’s image and use her hypnotic charm to get the sympathy of the public.

Meanwhile, the wacky barkada of ABS-CBN gag show “Banana Split” invades Davao City this Saturday (April 13) in Abreeza Mall, 4:00 p.m. Bond with Melai Cantiveros, Jayson Gainza, Kean Cipriano and Pooh in an afternoon packed with entertainment and watch out for their production numbers. 

The show is absolutely free and open to all as the program’s way of thanking its loyal fans and viewers for the warm appreciation they give weekly to “Banana Split Extra Scoop” and “Banana Nite.”

Viral Video: Jennie Escalada Impersonates Angel Locsin in Banana Split

The video of Jennie Escalada impersonating Angel Locsin in the hit ABS-CBN gag show Banana Split has already gone viral.

Jennie, together with stand up comedy Iyah (who got her name by impersonating Iya Villania) did a very good job shifting her voice to that of Angel Locsin's and if you will close your eyes while listening to the video, you would think that it was really Angel who's talking.

Jenny, who is one of the grand finalists in the 3rd (and last) season of GMA-7's Pinoy Pop Superstar which crowned Maricris Garcia as champion and Bryan Termulo as runner-up, also had the chance to act some scenes in the movie One More Try with original cast Zanjoe Marudo, who is part of Banana Split.

Lara Quigaman Gives Birth to a Baby Boy; Banana Split Interviews Daniel and Katerina in Heaven

Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman has given birth to a healthy baby boy, November 11. Lara gave birth at around 12:52 a.m. at the Asian Hospital via Caesarian section.The actress-beauty queen and her husband, actor Marco Alcaraz will name their 7.8 lbs first born Noah Lamar.

Lara and Marco tied the knot last July 8 in an intimate Christian wedding ceremony at Indang, Cavite. The couple then announced that Lara is already five months pregnant and expecting their first baby by November.

ABS-CBN's comedy show Banana Split "interviewed" Walang Hanggan protagonists "Katherina and Dhaniel" in heaven. Katherina and Dhaniel, who both died in the hit TV drama series, were overjoyed by the high ratings garnered by their show. In appreciation for the overwhelming support, they promised to "visit" their fans.

Banana Split Celebrates 4th Year Anniversary this October 20

It’s going to be one memorable evening of fun and laughter as “Banana Split” celebrates its fourth anniversary this Saturday (October 20) via a show-cum-concert dubbed “Banana Split The Un4gettable Concert”.

“We’re dedicating this anniversary concert to our most-loved viewers for their continued support. Without them, Banana Split wouldn’t have reached four years,” said John Prats.

Watch the “Dance Floor Dynamite” John Prats move to the beat of mashed up songs with the dance group “Boys Unlimited”. Angelica Panganiban on the other hand, will show her singing prowess as she duets with the first winner of “X Factor Philippines” KZ Tandingan.

In the comedy department, Pooh and Pokwang will once again join forces in the segment “Poohkwang”.

Meanwhile, the “Banana Split” cast will also deliver their gags “Hot Issue” and “Parekoy” and Melai Cantiveros and Zanjoe Marudo will spoof the celebrities entering politics.

PBB Teens Big 4 Girls Myrtle, Karen, Joj and Jai Join Banana Split this July 14

PBB Teen Edition Big Winner Myrtle with Karen, Joj and Jai will join the cast of Banana Split this Saturday (July 14) in scripting out funny and witty lines that will make everyone laugh hard.

The dancing talent of the big four girls will be tested as they portray energetic cheer leaders with Sunshine, Saicy and Aiko on the comedy show’s opening number. Fresh from their biggest stint yet, Kuya’s girls are ready with their cheer leading outfit and pompoms to show their dancing prowess after being watched by everyone via Pinoy Big Brother.

Zanjoe Marudo: Comedy is More Challenging than Drama

Hunk actor Zanjoe Marudo admitted that he’s more comfortable with serious acting and that compared to veteran comedians, he still has a long way to go.

“It’s really difficult to make people laugh. Many people think that it’s harder to do drama but for me, comedy is more challenging.”

In “Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme” where he portrayed as Barry, Zanjoe said that he didn’t feel too much pressure because he was with great actors. Even Eugene Domingo, lead actress in the film, said that Zanjoe’s acting was great.

In “Banana Split” where he regularly tries his best at comedy, he said that if you’re comfortable with the people you’re with, your acting will come out more natural. “We’re almost like brothers and sisters in the show. We help each other,” he said.

Meanwhile in “Banana Split” this Saturday (June 30), watch out for “More Pun in the Philippines” where the cast will sing songs about the different places of the country. In “Hot Issue”, the gang will spoof Angeline Quinto’s search for her biological mom and Ruffa’s walkout in a talk show.

Ryan Bang Gets Emotional in 'Banana Split' After a Surprise Visit from Someone Special

Ryan Bang, known to be a funny and jolly guy didn’t know how to react when his Banana Split family threw him a surprise for his birthday. They invited a person dear to him and has played a big part in his life.

“We were very close. Both of us were really makulit,” said Ryan, pleasantly surprised by the unannounced visit of this special person.

The 21-year-old celebrant also made a wish for his birthday last June 16 – to be a part of a film with his showbiz family. “I wish to have a movie with my friends from It’s Showtime and Banana Split, it would be fun.”

His It’s Showtime and Banana Split family celebrated his birthday with him. “I didn’t have a big birthday party because it’s costly.”

According to the birthday boy, this party with his friends for three years was enough and that he will just use the money to visit his mother in Korea.

Meanwhile, Ryan invites viewers to watch Banana Split and find out more about him through his mysterious visitor. “Please watch it. It’s very touching,” he said.

Kim Chiu's Funny Side on Banana Split this June 9

Club Mwah was filled with laughs as Banana Split taped there with guest Kim Chiu. Kim is a natural comedian because she’s a cheerful person even off-cam.

This is her first time to guest on the show and she’s glad that the gang warmly welcomed her.

“I feel happy. This is a new experience. Comedy is a different world for me,” Kim shared.

But according to Kim, if ever a role in a comedy show will be offered to her, she thinks that she can’t handle it yet. “I’m not good at making people laugh. I just know how to laugh.”

John Prats and Bianca Manalo Break Up Confirmed!

John Prats and Bianca Manalo had already broken up. The two had called it quits after what could be the best seven-month relationship they had as a couple. This was confirmed by Bianca Manalo herself, May 30 on the late night newscast, Bandila. 

Bianca Manalo told Boy Abunda via a phone interview that it was John Prats who initiated the break up  two weeks ago. 

Rumor has it that a third party was the cause of the John-Bianca break-up. Some reports pointed Sexbomb girl Sunshine Garcia as the cause of the break up. Sunshine, who is a member of the cast of Banana Split together with John Prats, is rumored to have caused arguments between John and Bianca. Rumors also claimed that John and Sunshine became close since working together and were going out with friends.

Sunshine, however denied the allegations. In her interview with Bandila, the sexbomb dancer explained that photos of her and John Prats showing sweetness to each other were all work-related. 

“Kay Bianca, nahihiya ako sa kanya kase hindi ko alam kung paano lumabas ang balita na ito. Wala akong idea kung bakit, kung sino, bakit ako. Sa natatandaan ko, wala kaming pictures ni John Prats, na sasabihin mong sweet na hindi kaugnay sa trabaho. Kung may picture man kami, siguro iyon yung mga scenes.” Sunshine said in her Bandila interview, May 30.

Sunshine said that people might have misunderstood her closeness with John since the latter is very easy to get along with. “Sweet si Praty. Mahilig siyang mang-asar. Siya yung tao hindi ka mahihirapan pakisamahan siya,” added Sunshine.

Meanwhile, Bianca Manalo also refuted the rumors that Sunshine had something to do with the break up. She, however did not disclose the real reason why she and John split. John Prats is yet to comment about the issue.
