Mira Bella Pilot Wins Nationwide TV Ratings, Trends on Twitter

ABS-CBN’s official summer teleserye “Mirabella” has left TV viewers mesmerized as the pilot episode of Julia Barretto and Enrique Gil’s fantasy series won in the TV ratings game and dominated Twitter’s list of worldwide trending topics last Monday (March 24).

Based on data from Kantar Media, “Mirabella” scored a national TV rating of 22% or more than double of its rival program on GMA, “Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw” that only got 10%. Julia and Enrique’s series also conquered popular social networking sites such as Twitter where the hashtag #TheStoryOfMirabella became the number one worldwide trending topic.

Meanwhile, TV viewers will surely be more captivated by the story of “Mirabella” with the birth of Daisy (Dimples Romana) and Alfred’s (James Blanco) daughter Mira. 

What will Osang (Pokwang) and Paeng (John Lapus) do when they find out that Mira inherited the curse that Olive (Mylene Dizon) gave Daisy? Will they be able to raise Mira as a loving and kind person despite her having a broken family?

Mira Bella Premieres March 24 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida (Full Trailer)

ABS-CBN has released the full trailer of upcoming teleserye Mira Bella starring Julia Barretto, Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion. The said trailer shows how Julia's character got her wooden complexion and how she was treated differently.

Mira Bella also stars Pokwang, John 'Sweet' Lapus, Mika dela Cruz, Gloria Diaz, James Blanco, Mylene Dizon and with the special participation of Dimples Romana. Directed by Jerome Pobocan, Erick Salud, and Jojo Saguin, Mira Bella premieres March 24 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida repalcing Annaliza.

Julia Barretto and Enrique Gil Fall for Each Other in 'Mira Bella'

Kapamilya stars Julia Barretto and Enrique Gil are set to capture the hearts of primetime TV viewers as they team up for the first time in ABS-CBN’s upcoming fantasy series “Mira Bella,” which premieres this March.

“All artists, especially newcomers like me, dream to have our own teleserye. And with this opportunity given to me by ABS-CBN, I promise to do my best for our show,” said Julia.

Like Julia, Enrique admitted that he is also excited for the premiere of “Mira Bella.”

“This is my first ever fantaserye and I can’t wait to share it with the viewers. It’s a new experience that has taught me new things and has given me the chance to work with other great actors for the first time. It is very refreshing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Julia and Enrique shared that they believe that the primetime audience will enjoy the narrative of their program. “’Mira Bella’ is perfect for the whole family this upcoming summer season. It is a story about family, love, and acceptance. TV viewers, especially the younger generation, will surely learn a lot from our story,” Julia shared.

Julia will portray the character of a young girl cursed to have a wood-like skin named Mira, who is secretly admired by her blind best friend Jeremy, who will be played by Enrique.

Despite her extraordinary characteristic, Mira grows up as an obedient and kind-hearted child because of her stepparents Osang (Pokwang) and Paeng (John ‘Sweet’ Lapus).

Also joining Julia, Enrique, Sweet, and Pokwang in “Mira Bella” are Sam Concepcion, Mylene Dizon, James Blanco, Mika dela Cruz, and Gloria Diaz. It is directed by Erick Salud, Jojo Saguin, and Jerome Pobocan.

“Mira Bella” is the newest masterpiece of Dreamscape Entertainment Television, the group that created the phenomenal drama series “Walang Hanggan,” top-rating superhero teleserye “Juan dela Cruz,” and the timely series “Honesto,” which is already nearing its finale.

Kathryn, Daniel, Julia and Enrique Renew Contracts With ABS-CBN

Hottest teen stars of today Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Julia Montes and Enrique Gil renewed their contracts with ABS-CBN on Thursday, January 30.

The four stars signed another three-year contract with the Kapamilya network. Present in the contract signing were ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, broadcast head Cory Vidanes and TV production head Laurenti Dyogi.

Fans of the popular love team of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo will be able to see their idols in more ABS-CBN projects. The two currently star in the top-rating series Got to Believe and will soon start shooting for the movie adaptation of pop fiction She's Dating the Gangster written by Bianca Bernardino (read more about the movie here).

Meanwhile, Enrique Gil will soon be seen in the primetime teleserye Mira Bella opposite rising star Julia Barretto. They will be joined by Sam Concepcion, Pokwang, Mylene Dizon, John 'Sweet' Lapus, and James Blanco, among others.

Julia Montes, on the other hand, is part of the big cast of a once in a lifetime TV event, Ikaw Lamang. The said teleserye is a period action-drama featuring the first team up of Coco Martin and Kim Chiu. The epic love story is slated to premiere this March 2014.

Julia Montes and Enrique Gil Lauded at Dubai Autism Center (DAC)

What do 50 Cent, Mike Tyson, Enrique Gil and Julia Montes have in common?  They have all recently visited the Dubai Autism Center (DAC), fast becoming one of the premier centers in the Gulf region to offer internationally proficient services in the field of autism.

The DAC welcomed recently two of ABS-CBN TFC’s “ASAP Live In Dubai” stars: Enrique Gil and Julia Montes who came to visit the Center and express their strong support to the autism cause. Both youthfuil Filipino celebrities were part of the hugely successful “ASAP Live in Dubai” back-to-back concerts last January 24 which ABS-CBN TFC co-presented with OSN, the region’s leading pay-TV network and now the exclusive hub of TFC subscribers in the region.

DAC Events & Project Manager Farhan Shahid warmly received the celebrity guests and accompanied them in a tour of the facilities where they spent time with students with autism. 

At the end of the visit, Gil and Montes signed on the VIP’s guest book, expressing their admiration for the efforts undertaken by the Center towards children with autism and wishing everyone greater success in their endeavors to help people with the condition.

Farhan Shahid commented: “The visit reflects Enrique and Julia’s concern about individuals with autism… I am impressed by their keenness to understand and find out more about the disorder… They have left a lasting impression on all staff members.”

DAC is a non-profit organization launched in 2001 with the main objective of successfully integrating children with autism into the community through focused efforts in creating social awareness about the condition. 

Today, 57 students are provided with a holistic individualized intervention program that includes academics and various therapies: behavioural, speech, occupational, music and play as well as professional medical care. In addition to the intervention program, the Center has an internationally acknowledged assessment and diagnosis unit.

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that lasts throughout a person’s life. It affects the person’s verbal and non-verbal communication abilities as well as imaginative play and social skills. Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) transcend social, cultural and geographic boundaries. According to recent studies, 1 out of 88 children is affected by ASD.
