'Unofficially Yours' Grossed P71.53 Million in 5 days

Star Cinema's Valentine offering, Unofficially Yours starring John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin grossed a whooping P71.53 million on its opening weekend. This 5-day gross was according to third-party tabulator, Box-office Mojo. Last week, Star Cinema's Ad Prom manager, Mico del Rosario tweeted that the said Angel-Lloydie film had already raked in P100 million on its first week.

The success of Unofficially Yours sealed the place of John Lloyd Cruz in the ranks of Box-Office icons in Philippine Cinema. Meanwhile, this is Angel's second Star Cinema movie which is a certified blockbuster (after In The Name of Love).

Despite hollywood movies premiering simultaneously with Pinoy's Unofficially Yours, the said movie still emerged victorious as it debuted at no. 1 in the box-office, beating Ghost Rider, Hugo, Breaking Wind and The Descendants.

Angel Locsin still soars high as she is nominated as Best Actress in the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Movies (see the rest of the nominees here). Menwhile, John Lloyd will work on another movie opposite Sarah Geronimo which will be released this coming June or July.

Actor Coco Martin said seeing Pope Benedict XVI personally is something he will surely treasure for the rest of his life. Coco recently went to Rome, Milan and Vatican City to tape some scenes for the top-rated television series Walang Hanggan.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Coco Martin said he and the show's staff got lucky that when they attended Mass at the Vatican, Pope Benedict XVI was there.

Coco said he considers seeing the Pope a blessing.

“Nagpunta kami sa Vatican para mag-Mass, para magpasalamat. First time ko nagpunta roon tapos nagkataon pa nan nandoon ang Pope, sobrang blessing po,” he said.

Sarah and John Lloyd Movie to Hit Theaters in June or July

The third installment of the John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo movie is finally pushing through. This was announced by the two celebrities themselves after the movie’s story conference held on Monday.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Cruz said it feels good to be working with Geronimo again because it has been a while since their last team-up.

“Medyo matagal din kaming hindi nagkasama. Parang pelikula lang din ito na naninibago na naman, dalawang characters and dalawang tao na magsasama ulit,” he said.

Cruz and Geronimo said the people should watch out for this movie as a lot would be changing in their characters’ lives.

“May konting time lapse pero hindi malinaw kung gaano katagal. Ang alam ko three years mula mula ‘A Very Special Love.’ Basta may time lapse and sa simula ng storya, doon niyo makikita kung ano ang pagbabago,” Cruz said.

“Sa bawat relationship naman laging may changes ‘di ba? Ito may time lapse so makikita natin kung ano ang pagbabago kay Laida at sa relationship nila,” Geronimo added.

Meanwhile, Geronimo admitted that even though this will be their third movie together, she cannot help but still feel the pressure to do good, especially given the box office performance of "A Very Special Love" and "You Changed My Life."

“Sa lahat naman po ng proyekto laging may apprehensions, may pressure, may kaba kung mapapangatawanan mo ba ang role na ibinigay sa iyo. Pero nagtitiwala naman po ako sa director ko, sa co-actors ko, sa leading man ko,” she said.

As for Cruz, the actor said he chooses not to dwell on the pressure and just focus on their jobs.

“Ako gusto ko lang mag-concentrate sa idea na maraming naghihintay dito. Lahat kami nag-aabang din kami and naghihintay. We’re all very excited. I’d rather focus on that kaysa sa ibang bagay,” he said.

According to Cruz and Geronimo, they will meet together on Friday to watch their first two movies together to refresh their experiences.

Their third movie installment is slated to be shown in June or July.

M6 Challenged PBB Unlimited Housemates

Things just got nastier and more exciting in “Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited” with the entry of M6, or the six former housemates tasked to bring out the current season’s housemates’ true colors and to help the public decide on who deserves to be the program’s Big Winner.

After Big Brother openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the housemates who seem undetermined to enter the Big Four, he sought help from the M6 housemates who are known to have assertive personalities. Franzen Fajardo, Baron Geisler, Beauty Gonzalez, Rica Paras, and “PBB Unlimited” evictees Kigoy and Luz are expected to spice things up inside the house and test the current housemates.

It was only a matter of time before Paco was able to successfully infuriate some of the housemates to fulfill his task as a house player. Viewers even favored his performance, as determined by last week’s overnight voting that revealed they still wanted him to stay in the house.

Meanwhile, this week’s nominees for eviction are Divine, Kevin, and Seiichi, who received the most number of votes from the housemates who thought the three were pretentious.

Deniesse, on the other hand, was granted a forced eviction and got kicked out of the house last Saturday (Feb 25) for asking Melai of the public’s perception of her and for whispering to Divine, both of which are grave violations of Big Brother’s house rules.

Don’t miss the exciting developments in “Pinoy Big Brother UnliDay” with Bianca Gonzalez weekdays after “Angelito: Batang Ama” in Kapamilya Gold and in “Pinoy Big Brother UnliNight” with Toni Gonzaga weeknights after “Budoy” in Primetime Bida. Also stay tuned to “PBB Unlimited Updates” with Robi Domingo during “Angelito: Batang Ama” and “E-Boy” on ABS-CBN. Sarah Geronimo Calls Gerald Anderson 'Babe'

On the pilot episode of Sarah Geronimo's Sunday musical variety show Sarah G Live, the Popstar princess had a slip of the tongue, creating speculations that she and Gerald Anderson are officially together.

In one of the segments of the said show, Sarah had to go to a yacht and she was surprised that Gerald was already there. She was set up by the staff for a date on board with Gerald. The two had a great time together aboard and they spent some time singing songs from a videoke present on the yacht.

What surprised all was when Sarah told Gerald this line: "Hanap lang ako, Babe" which means she will look for a song in the list. Sarah was quick to explain that she was looking for the song Babe upon realizing what she just said and  but Gerald was also fast in teasing "Walang Babe (song) dyan."

So, are these two officially a couple now and their term of endearment is 'BABE'? How sweet, isn't it? Well, there's nothing wrong with these two falling in love with each other. How we love SASA and GEGE is for real.

Ai Ai Delas Alas in her Sarah G Live guesting congratulated Sarah for her new show. She also wished  that Sarah will find the man that will love the latter even though she's not popular or beautiful anymore. Could this be Gerald?

ABS-CBN Bags 4 Recognitions at the 47th Anvil Awards 2012

ABS-CBN Corporation bagged four recognitions at the recent 47th Anvil Awards for its outstanding programs and tools in public relations namely a trailblazing online TV series, an education and health advocacy via mobile trucks, innovations undertaken for a radio-cable TV channel, and a successful local awards honoring the best in Filipino music.

The pioneering Imortal Online project initiated by the ABS-CBN Digital Brand Management won for its achievement in engaging fans of the TV series “Imortal,” topbilled by Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz, in the online world via its originally produced web series, artwork contests, and other user generated contents.

It drew a remarkable following of 275,593 registered users in its first three months and reached up to 15 million page views in the same time period.

One of the reasons why Imortal Online was a big hit in the internet is its original web episodes dubbed as “Anino’t Panaginip” that featured sub-plots of the story of Lia and Mateo being aired on TV via the series “Imortal.” A total of 24 webisodes were exclusively produced and the site is set to produce new episodes this 2012.

Also, through its artwork contest “Likhang Imortal,” netizens were able to showcase their creative talents online by making their own “Imortal” characters. Out of a total of 12,397 entries, Imortal Online picked 30 finalists and the entry which topped online votes was awarded with a P50,000 cash prize.

Aside from artworks, the site also encouraged users to send in their original stories via “Kuwentong Imortal” and select entries were transformed into an animated online manga in the section “I-mortal.”

ABS-CBN’s radio AM station DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and cable TV channel DZMM TeleRadyo, on the other hand, won two Anvils for its Teaching, Learning, Caring classroom and clinic on wheels or TLC and its innovative strategies and initiatives of the country’s leading news cable channel DZMM TeleRadyo.
TLC bagged the award for helping underprivileged barangays through its classroom and clinic on-wheels. It offered storytelling sessions and was able to render medical check-ups to almost 30,000 individuals since its launch back in November 2010.

DZMM TeleRadyo, on the other hand, was recognized for its achievements in expanding its viewership, creating innovative approaches for its advertisers that led to higher ad revenues for the station, and increasing subscription revenues by getting more cable TV operators to carry the station nationwide.

Its FM radio counterpart Tambayan 101.9 also took home an Anvil award for its annual “Tambayan 101.9 OPM Awards.” The TOPMA successfully paid tribute to Filipino music artists by honoring original Pinoy music. It also engaged its listeners and provided an avenue for its DJ’s to interact with them during the awarding event.

ABS-CBN bagged the most number of Anvil awards among TV networks with four recognitions as compared to GMA’s three and TV5’s one.

The Anvil Awards is an annual event organized by the PRSP that honors outstanding public relations programs and tools. Prior to the Anvil Awards, ABS-CBN earned four recognitions for its PR programs from the Philippine Quill Awards given by the International Association of Business Communicators. ABS-CBN was the most-awarded TV network in both Anvil and Quill Awards that honor the best works in public relations and business communications.
