2012 ASAP That's Christmas Winner is Christmas 3'T (Group 3)

ASAP 2012 treated all the viewers to an ultimate talent showdown as some of the biggest Kapamilya stars perform for the most-awaited annual ‘2012 ASAP That’s Christmas’ on Sunday, December 16. 

The ASAP Kapamilyas were divided into three groups, each prepared and conceptualized the number that they presented on the ASAP stage. Enchong and Nikki's Group, Christmas 3'T was hailed as the ASAP 2012 That's Christmas champion. Group 1 (Christmas Hataw-1) emerged in second place while Group 2 (2nay Na Pasko) won third place.

The first group, 'Christmas Hataw-1' led by Billy Crawford and his members Gerald Anderson, Bamboo, Jessy Mendiola, Kathryn Bernardo, Shaina Magdayao, Erich Gonzales, Denise Laurel, John Prats, Rayver Cruz, Jovit Baldivino, Richard Poon, Kean Cipriano, Bugoy Cariño, Joj & Jai, and Piolo Pascual, with guest Vice Ganda, did a rock number.

Meanwhile, the second group, '2Nay Na Pasko' composed of Cristine Reyes, Erik Santos, Yeng Constantino, Aiza Seguerra, Xian Lim, JM de Guzman, Khalil Ramos, Robi Domingo, Princess, Zia Quizon, Megan Young, Gab Valenciano, Anja Aguilar, and ZsaZsa Padilla, with guest Ai Ai Delas Alas did a Christmas tree-themed performance each member being an ornament. 

The last group, Enchong Dee at Nikki Gil’s ‘Christmas 3’T’ with their teammates Vina Morales, Sam Milby, Maja Salvador, Kim Chiu, Julia Montes, Matteo Guidicelli, Jed Madela, Angeline Quinto, Iya Villania, Marcelito Pomoy, Empress, Sam Concepcion, and Toni Gonzaga (with Marc Logan) as guest showcased a carnival-themed  number.

The winning group won P150,000 cash and Corby tablets while the 2nd and 3rd placer took home P100,000 and P50,000, respectively.

Video: Angeline Quinto Surprised by Biological Mom Rosemarie Mabao on ASAP Birthday Celebration

Singer Angeline Quinto celebrated her birthday on ASAP 2012 on Sunday, November 25. The Star Power grand champion did a song number and was moved to tears when her biological mother Rosemarie Mabao made a surprise appearance on the show together with her 'Mama Bob.'

Angeline Quinto fought back tears while singing the OPM classic Ngayon when she was joined by her two mothers onstage. Her adoptive mother, Sylvia Quinto (Mama Bob) and her biological mother, whom she referred to as Nanay Susan both expressed how much they love Angeline in a hug to which the singer responded by saying "I love you both."

Angeline and her biological mother finally met last June and it was Rosemarie who first approached people close to the singer who then arranged the meeting (read related story here).

Kantar Media (November 17-18) TV Ratings: ASAP is 'Most-Liked', not Party Pilipinas

ABS-CBN's Sunday musical variety show ASAP 2012 is the 'most-liked' nationwide than its rival Party Pilipinas based on the TV ratings provided by Kantar Media/TNS. ASAP Astig episode beat the PP Most Liked Awards what episode last Sunday, November 18.

Meanwhile, MMK 20 has made Magpakailanman down to its knees after inching almost 15 points in TV ratings. Wansapanataym starring Sam Milby and Empress and Goin' Bulilit topped Saturday and Sunday viewing, respectively.

Video: Enchong Dee's Death Defying Stunt on His ASAP 2012 Birthday Prod

Actor Enchong Dee did a riveting performance on his birthday celebration in ASAP 2012. The Ina Kapatid Anak star indulge the audience with his death-defying stunt while riding a sort of a semi-circle circus wheel.

Before Enchong heated up the stage of ASAP 2012, an introductory video was first shown with him featured in several challenging adventures like bungee jumping and sky diving while he said that he live without limits—no boundaries and no rules.

Enchong Dee, who turned 24 on November 5, said his only wish during his special day is for his family to have good health and happy life. He also thanked the Lord and all his fans who have been supportive of all his projects. One of those is the MMFF 2012 entry The Strangers where Enchong traded off his clean look for a dirty hunter.

Kantar Media (November 10-11) TV Ratings: ASAP 2012 Leaves Party Pilipinas With a Single Digit TV Rating

ABS-CBN’ Sunday musical variety show ASAP 2012 posted a 6.3 margin over its rival Party Pilipinas according to the nationwide TV ratings data on November 11 provided by Kantar Media. ASAP reigned the daytime slot on Sunday while Goin’ Bulilit Malaysia episode Part 1 did the same in primetime.

Eat Bulaga is back on track last Saturday, November 10 gaining a 16.1% rating compared to It’s Showtime’s 13%, enough to snatch the number 1 slot from Be Careful With My Heart Sabado Rewind. Meanwhile, Wansapanataym Christmas special starring Cristine Reyes is most-watched on primetime Saturday.

Philippines Bags 13 Nominations at the 2012 Asian Television Awards

The Philippines clinched 13 nominations at the 17th Asian Television Awards (ATA) 2012 with ABS-CBN getting 6 nods while GMA-7 and TV-5 each got 3 nominations. For the complete list of nominees, click here.

The Awards comprise over 30 categories and represent the industry's foremost recognition by enjoying the support of every major industry player throughout the region. ATA attracts a multitude of entries from a wide range of broadcasters, including free-to-air television stations and pay-TV platforms, as well as many independent production houses in Asia.

Last year, ABS-CBN's The Bottomline With Boy Abunda won as Best Talk Show while the theme song of TV-5's Star Confessions "Ikaw Ang Buhay Ko" won the the Best Theme Song.

The winners of the 17th Asian Television Awards will be announced during the Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in December 6 at the Singapore Shangri-La Hotel.

Coco Martin, ASAP, Bandila, Sharlene San Pedro Nominated at 2012 Asian Television Awards

ABS-CBN  received 6 nominations at the 2012 Asian Television Awards (ATA), the 17th edition of Asian TV industry's most significant and celebrated event, recognizing excellence in programming, production and performance. 

Coco Martin is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the Maalaala Mo Kaya: Kamao episode which already bagged the special prize in the 2012 Seoul International Drama Awards.

For the Best Actress in a Leading Role category, it will be child star Sharlene San Pedro who will compete against six others. Sharlene received the nomination for her performance in the Maalaala Mo Kaya: T-Shirt episode. The said episode is a finalist at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Prize.

ABS-CBN’s late night newscast Bandila: Sendong's Wrath is competing for the Best News Programme category against shows from Hong Kong and Singapore. Bandila already won the Best News Programme in 2007 for its coverage of the Subic rape case.

ABS-CBN News’ Chief correspondent Korina Sanchez was nominated in the Best Current Affairs Presenter category for her show Rated K. She will be up against six other presenters from India, Singapore and Malaysia.

ASAP Rocks: Gives Back will vie with TV shows from from Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia in the Best Music Programme category.

Meanwhile, The Bottomline with Boy Abunda is once again competing in the Best Talk Show. Last year, the show won in this category, beating top Asian programs, including Talk Asia of CNN Hong Kong and The Euthanasia Debate of New Delhi Television in India, elevating Boy Abunda as Asia's King of Talk.

The 17th Asian Television Awards 2012 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony is happening on December 6 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore.
