Empress Considers Network Transfer after ABS-CBN Contract Expires

Actress Empress Schuck is leaving ABS-CBN if the network is no longer interested with her. Empress' ABS-CBN contract is about to end next month and she admitted that there are offers for her to transfer.

"Honestly po, may offer [from other networks]. But since dito ako lumaki, mahal ko ang ABS, mahal ko sila. Kaya lang may mga bagay talaga na hindi mo pwedeng ipagsisikan…," Empress told ABS-CBN News in an interview Sunday.

"I gave them my loyalty, bata pa lang ako dito na ako lumaki. Nandito ang pagmamahal ko, hinding hindi mawawala 'yun. Pero bilang isang artista, may mga bagay na kailangan mong iwanan, may mga bagay na kailangan mo i-open," she added. 

Empress started as a child star and played supporting roles during her teens before being launched as a leading lady in ABS-CBN afternoon soap Rosalka. 

Empress admitted that she misses doing teleseryes but it seems that ABS-CBN is not keen on giving her priority. However, she said that her camp has been negotiating with the management but there are no definite plans about her career yet.

"Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit wala pa or bakit medyo matagal [bigyan ng project]. Pero siguro they have their own reason kung bakit wala. Pero siyempre dadating din sa time na maiinip ka, mag-iisip ka kung bakit ganun?" she said.

Empress said that she's willing to stay if she will be offered a good project and if the network lay out plans for her career. 

"Kailangan may plano para sa 'yo, na meron silang gusto mangyari para sa 'yo na hindi ka nila pababayaan. Ang question ko sa sarili ko, may plano ba sila?" she said. "Hindi ko alam kung anong plan nila, hindi ko alam kung anong gusto nila for me or kung may ibibigay pa ba sila."

If ABS-CBN still has no plans for her, Empress said that she has no other choice but to accept offers from other networks where there is better opportunity for her.

"Marami namang ibang opportunities sa ibang lugar. Kung wala talaga for now, siguro may times talaga na kailangan mo mag-move on. Or kung gusto pa rin naman nila [ako] mag-stay, napag-uusapan naman lahat," she said.

Empress' last regular project was Mundo Man ay Magunaw way back in 2012. She was last seen playing a supporting role in 2013 ABS-CBN teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.

Empress Portrays Iza Calzado in MMK (February 1)

ABS-CBN’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” will share this Saturday (February 1) the inspiring journey of award-winning actress Iza Calzado towards a ‘lighter’ life. Featuring Empress and child star Belle Mariano as Iza, witness how an insecure girl bravely faced her problems and resolved her obesity issues.

Living in a broken family, how did Iza empower herself to win her personal battle with her weight? How did her seemingly simple weight problem became a crucial turning point in her life? 

Also part of the “MMK” are Dimples Romana, Christian Vasquez, Ina Feleo and Joross Gamboa. The Raz de la Torre-directed episode is written by Cyrus Dan L. Cañares and Arah Jell Badayos, and researched by Akeem del Rosario.

Check out the making of Skylight Films' Tuhog, one of Star Cinema's offerings in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Tuhog (2013) is a dark comedy movie starring Empress, Leo Martinez, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee, and Eugene Domingo.

Star Cinema has released the official full trailer of Tuhog (2013), the second movie presentation of Skylight Films this year. Tuhog is a dark comedy movie starring Eugene Domingo, Enchong Dee, Jake Cuenca, Empress and Leo Martinez.

The title of the movie, Tuhog (which may sound erotic to some) stemmed from an accident which pierce three of the characters in a single steel bar. That mishap tied the lives of Fiesta (Eugene Domingo), Tonio (Leo Martinez) and Caloy (Enchong Dee) together (read more about the movie's plot here).

Written by Veronica Velasco and Jinky Laurel and also directed by Veronica Velasco (Last Supper No. 3 which won Best Film in 2009 Cinemalaya), Tuhog will open in theaters July 17, 2013. Watch the full trailer below.

'Tuhog' Starring Eugene Domingo, Enchong Dee, Empress, Jake Cuenca and Leo Martinez Opens July 17

After the hilarious comedy Bromance: My Brother's Romance which will hit theaters on May 15, Skylight Films and Star Cinema proudly present Tuhog, a dark comedy movie starring Eugene Domingo, Enchong Dee, Jake Cuenca, Empress and Leo Martinez.

In Tuhog, Eugene Domingo plays the role of Fiesta, a bus barker who turned spinster out of dedication to take good care of his demented father. Her life changes after she met Nato (Jake Cuenca), a driver who won her heart but with a dark secret.

Leo Martinez is Tonio, a retired old man past his prime who risked his pension to fulfill his dream of becoming a baker. Meanwhile, Enchong Dee plays Caloy, a young man who vowed to preserve his virginity for his girlfriend Angel (Empress), who also agreed to give her virginity only to Caloy. However, long distance relationship and a new guy in Angel's life challenged Caloy's faithfulness to the said pact.

Written by Veronica Velasco and Jinky Laurel and also directed by Veronica Velasco (Last Supper No. 3 which won Best Film in 2009 Cinemalaya), Tuhog will open in theaters July 17, 2013.

Empress is FHM Cover Girl for March 2013

Kapamilya actress Empress Schuck is on the cover of FHM Philippines March 2013 issue. Empress, who just turned 20 last month made a big switch from a child star to debuting on the cover of the said men's magazine.

Wearing a two piece bikini while half-submerged in a pool, Empress was photographed by Ronnie Salvacion for her FHM debut cover. She is also seen posing along a coastline in a number of swimsuits for the inside photos.

"I'm happy kasi meron akong nagawang bago para sa sarili at career ko. I want everyone to realize that I'm no longer a child. It's also for everyone to understand na posing for FHM doesn't mean na magse-sexy ka na or you are changing your image sa public. I took it as a challenge to show everyone na you can still be wholesome while showing skin," Empress was quoted as saying by FHM in its official website.

Aside from Empress, FHM also put new FHM columnists Jahziel Manabat and Abby Poblador in a spectacular debate against each other. For this year's Bikini Heaven Special, FHM had Wendy Valdez, Jef Gaitan, Karen Bordador, and a few other swimsuit sweethearts.

Gerald Anderson Plays Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano in MMK this February 9

Kapamilya drama prince Gerald Anderson will star in the upcoming “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode this Saturday (February 9), which will share the touching tale of a family that remained strong despite life’s greatest trials. Gerald will play the character of the second child of the late Senator Rene Cayetano (to be portrayed by Tommy Abuel), Alan Peter. 

For the Cayetano siblings, life was too simple because they had their father Rene who made all the decisions and they would just follow him. But their worlds suddenly turned upside down when their dad was diagnosed with a liver ailment. How did the Cayetano siblings turn their father’s weakness into their family’s strength? How hard was it to move on especially when the person who died was the family’s main source of ‘life?’

ABS-CBN has moved the premiere of its most passionate drama series “Apoy Sa Dagat” from February 4 to February 11 (Monday) on Primetime Bida. 

The newest Kapamilya teleserye unravel the compelling story of burning love among four powerful characters namely Serena (Angelica Panganiban), Ruben (Piolo Pascual), Anton (Diether Ocampo), and Rebecca (Angelica Panganiban).

ABS-CBN has released the official poster of upcoming teleserye Apoy Sa Dagat starring Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Angelica Panganiban and Angelica Panganiban (the latter being billed twice by playing a dual role).

The Apoy Sa Dagat poster truly lived up to the show's title, fiery and hot with both Piolo and Diether oozing with sex appeal as well as Angelica, who is wearing a wet and see-through dress.

Kantar Media (November 17-18) TV Ratings: ASAP is 'Most-Liked', not Party Pilipinas

ABS-CBN's Sunday musical variety show ASAP 2012 is the 'most-liked' nationwide than its rival Party Pilipinas based on the TV ratings provided by Kantar Media/TNS. ASAP Astig episode beat the PP Most Liked Awards what episode last Sunday, November 18.

Meanwhile, MMK 20 has made Magpakailanman down to its knees after inching almost 15 points in TV ratings. Wansapanataym starring Sam Milby and Empress and Goin' Bulilit topped Saturday and Sunday viewing, respectively.

Sam Milby and Empress Topbill Wansapanataym Christmas Special this November 17

Rockoustic heartthrob Sam Milby gives an early gift this Saturday (November 17) as he teaches everyone the importance of family in the Christmas countdown special of ABS-CBN’s top-rating fantasy-drama anthology “Wansapantaym.” 

In the ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ episode, Sam will portray the role of Carl, a young man who wants to forget the memories of his family. Because of his bitterness over his past, Carl has decided to sell the house that he inherited from his parents as tries to turn his back on them. Will Carl finally learn to forgive and open his heart once again when several strangers make him realize the importance of family?

Skylight and Star Cinema's "Amorosa: The Revenge" Official Poster Unveiled

Star Cinema and Skylight Films have released the official poster for the upcoming horror movie Amorosa: The Revenge. Watch the Amorosa full trailer here.

Amorosa, which is a combination of psycho thriller, horror-suspense and drama, stars Angel Aquino, Enrique Gil, Martin del Rosario, Empress, Ejay Falcon, Carlo Aquino,  Xyriel Manabat, Jane Oineza, Franco Daza, Lloyd Samartino, Nico Antonio, Jairus Aquino, Richard Quan, Mosang and Nanding Josef. 

In the film, Angel Aquino and sons Enrique Gil and Martin del Rosario's fresh new start in a newly-acquired house will turn into a doomed ending as a ghost (played by Empress) will create misery and take revenge. Below is the poster of Amorosa.

The poster above will leave everyone asking on what could be the ties among the characters. The above photo shows Angel Aquino and sons Enrique and Martin in serenity while upside down in a mirrored depiction are Empress and two bloodstained men, Carlo Aquino and Ejay Falcon.

Trailer: Amorosa Movie Starring Angel Aquino, Enrique Gil, Martin del Rosario and Empress

After the success of Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang, Skylight Films ventures into another horror movie Amorosa starring Angel Aquino, Enrique Gil, Martin del Rosario, Empress and Xyriel Manabat.

In Amorosa, Angel Aquino will portray the mother of Enrique Gil and Martin del Rosario who will seek a fresh start in a newly-bought house. Little did they know that this abode was haunted by a ghost (played by Empress) seeking for revenge.

Also starring Carlo Aquino, Franco Daza, Lloyd Samartino, Nico Antonio and Nanding Josef, Amorosa is directed by acclaimed director Topel Lee (Ouija, Tumbok). To be distributed by Star Cinema, Amorosa opens in theaters August 29, 2012.
