Direk Bobet Vidanes' Resignation, Not True - ABS-CBN

Rumors circulating that It's Showtime director and creator Bobet Vidanes resigned from the said noontime show (read related story here) because of an alleged rift with Vice Ganda is not true according to ABS-CBN.

The rumor spreaded after both Direk Bobet and Vice Ganda's long absence from It's Showtime and the hosts calling Mel Feliciano 'Direk'.

In a statement issued by ABS-CBN through its Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio, the network falsifies the resignation of the director.

Here is ABS-CBN's official statement about Direk Bobet's resignation from It's Showtime:

It is not true that Direk Bobet Vidanes resigned from Showtime because of Vice Ganda. Both of them were recently not in the show since Direk Bobet went on a Holy Week break, while Vice Ganda fulfilled a series of engagements in the Middle East.

Direk Bobet Vidanes Resigns as It's Showtime Director?

According to PEP Alerts, It's Showtime director Bobet Vidanes has resigned, a reliable source reported. 

The resignation of Showtime genius Direk Bobet as the director of the said ABS-CBN noontime show was due to an alleged misunderstanding of the former with Vice Ganda and other hosts.

Mula sa isang reliable source, nag-resign na raw si Direk Bobet Vidanes bilang direktor ng It‘s Showtime. Ito ay dahil sa hindi raw nila pagkakasundo ni Vice Ganda at ilan pang hosts ng nasabing noontime show ng ABS-CBN. Hindi na raw sinusunod ni Vice si Direk Bobet at ilang araw na rin hindi napapanood ang comedian sa show.

If the said scoop is indeed true, it will be a saddening decision since from the very first day Showtime was conceptualized, Direk Bobet and the rest of the hosts treat each other as a family. That is the secret of Showtime's success.

With Direk Bobet's rumored resignation, who could possibly be It's Showtime  new director? Could this be the end of a family (or even the show which did not rate well compared to its rival Eat Bulaga) three years in the making?
