26th Awit Awards 2013 Nominees

26th Awit Awards logoThe Philippine Association of Record Industry (PARI) has released the nominees for the 26th Awit Awards 2013. With the aim of recognizing Filipinos' undying passion for music, Awit Awards honors performing artists and people behind the making of Filipino recorded music.

Sarah Geronimo, Gary Valenciano, Noel Cabangon, Julie Anne San Jose, Gloc-9, Juris, Rico Blanco and Angeline Quinto are among those who received multiple nominations. Meanwhile, new recording artists Khalil Ramos and Daniel Padilla and talent search products Liezel Garcia, KZ Tandingan, AKA Jam, and Kedebon Colim are also nominated.

25th Awit Awards 2012 Winners: Sarah Geronimo and Zia Quizon Win Big

25th Awit Awards 2012 WinnersThe 25th Awit Awards was held Tuesday night, November 27 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. Zia Quizon was the big winner of the night clinching the Song of the Year, Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist, and Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist awards all for her single Ako Na Lang.

Meanwhile, fresh from her win at the Aliw Awards 2012, Sarah Geronimo also bagged awards at the 25th Awit Awards including the Best-Selling Album of the Year for "One Heart."

Gloc-9 'Sirena' Music Video Featuring Ebe Dancel

Check out the music video of Sirena by rapper Gloc-9 featuring Ebe Dancel. Sirena is the first single in Gloc-9's newly-released sixth album "MKNM: Mga Kwento Ng Makata" under Universal Records.

Gloc-9 admits being super proud of the album's single Sirena which talks about the story of a responsible gay man from his battered childhood to his teenage years until his father's deathbed.

"I think this is the first time that a song about a gay man is presented in a first person's point of view," explains Gloc-9. "I worked very hard on this song for it not to be offending to anyone."

The Sirena music video was directed by J. Pacena II (who also directed Gloc-9's Lando, Balita, Upuan among others). The video also features prominent LGBT personalities and "King of Talk" Boy Abunda.
