Paulo Avelino is Mute in MMK with Joem Bascon (July 6)

Award-winning actor Paulo Avelino returns to “Maalaala Mo Kaya” this Satuday (July 6) after almost two years since his first ever episode in the longest-running drama anthology in Asia.

In his second “MMK” stint, Paulo will portray, for the first time, a born mute character named Apaw, who was maltreated by his relatives. “This one is entirely different from my first ‘MMK,’ which was with KC Concepcion. It’s not a love story, but a touching tale of extraordinary courage and true friendship between my character Apaw and his bestfriend Dante,” explained Paulo, who will be joined in the episode by his “Walang Hanggan” co-actor Joem Bascon, who will play the role of Dante.

“It’s not just a simple story about a handicap person. It’s about the friendship between Apaw and Dante that will make viewers realize the importance of having a real friend who will never leave you amid life’s hardest trials,” Paulo further shared.

Together with Paulo and Joem in the upcoming “MMK” episode are Jewel Mische, Alma Concepcion, Ismael Clavero, John Vincent Servilla, Glenda Garcia, Tom Olivar, Jamila Obispo, Jerome Ventinilla, and Brace Henry Aquiza. It was researched by Alex Martin, written by Benson Logronio, and directed by Raz De La Torre.

Enrique Gil and Jewel Mische Become Duck Raiser and Bosero in Matanglawin (March 17)

Kuya Kim and guest hosts Enrique Gil and Jewel Mische trade their comfortable celebrity lives to become a jeepney driver, a duck raiser, and an oyster farmer for a day Sunday (Mar 17) in another exciting adventure on “Matanglawin.”

The country’s Trivia King turns into the king of the road as he roams around the busy streets of Manila driving a passenger jeepney.  Driving may look easy but can he multitask like what jeepney drivers-barkers do?

Jewel goes to the sea on a small boat to try the life of a “bosero” or an oyster-farmer. She must harvest the oysters and sell them later in the market.

‘Dougie’ Prince Enrique Gil, on the other hand, turns into an ‘Itik’ prince and sinks his feet in the mud while chasing ducks all around. After harvesting the duck’s eggs, he must now walk around Bulacan shouting ‘balut’ and make sure he sells all of it.

Denise Laurel Joins PHR Paraiso, Desires Matteo Guidicelli

After painting your afternoons with love as Lysa in the recently concluded Precious Hearts Romances presents Pintada, actress Denise Laurel heats up afternoon viewing once more as she returns to another PHR series, this time, as the feisty and sultry lawyer Cassandra Romano in PHR presents Paraiso.

Behind the tough front she shows as an empowered and successful career woman, Cassandra remains to be a vulnerable young girl who is afraid to love after her father left her and her mother for another woman.

She has only loved one man who she considers a hero in her life— Brennan. Back when they were still in college, Brennan was the only man who respected her, treated her right, and did not take advantage of her.

As the two meet again and rekindle their friendship, Cassandra’s attraction to Brennan burns anew. Despite the fact that Brennan is already a family man, Cassandra is determined to get him no matter what.

PHR Paraiso Premieres November 5 on Kapamilya Gold, Hot Promotional Photos Revealed!

The country’s new desirable love team, Jessy Mendiola and Matteo Guidicelli, puts its chemistry to test as they team up for the first time on television to make your afternoon sizzle in ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye Precious Hearts Romances presents Paraisopremiering on November 5 (Monday) on Kapamilya Gold.

In the tradition of bringing compelling dramas on passionate love, Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) once again opens its pages and tells the story about two different people who will find paradise in each other’s arms after being stranded in an uninhabited island for months.

PHR presents Paraiso follows the story of Yanie (Jessy Mendiola), a street smart and resourceful young woman who wants to alleviate her family from poverty, and Brennan, a rich married man who wants to prove his worth to his father.

A tragedy suddenly strikes in the middle of the vast ocean. The ship they’re on capsizes and the two find themselves washed ashore on a small, unoccupied island. They start off on the wrong foot but Yanie and Brennan have no choice but to depend on each other to survive. This draws them closer together and unexpectedly paves the way for them to fall in love.

They have found paradise in each other, but it will be short-lived as authorities come to their rescue. The two part ways and face the lives they temporarily left

Brennan finds himself dealing with his marital problems with his wife Meagan (Jewel Mische), who is having a hard time conceiving a child, while Yanie starts anew after a loss in her family and gets comfort in her best friend Justin (Matt Evans).

What will they do when fate brings them together once again? Will they still feel the same way about each other? How much are they willing to give up to experience paradise once again in each other’s arms?

Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) Paraiso Full Trailer, Unveiled

ABS-CBN has released the official full trailer for the 17th installment of Precious Hearts Romances entitled Paraiso. Previously titled Isla, PHR Paraiso is topbilled by Jessy Mendiola, Matteo Guidicelli, Jewel Mische and Matt Evans.

Paraiso tells the story of two strangers, Brennan (Matteo) and Yani (Jessy), who get stranded on an island after their ship gets wrecked. Romance blooms between them as they spend time alone on the island, but the two strangers are not without their respective baggage from the "real world." Brennan is married to his dedicated wife Megan (Jewel), while Yani's childhood best friend Justin (Matt) has untold feelings for the young woman. The romance that grows between Yani and Brennan will set off a series of twists and conflicts after the two gets back to their own lives in Manila.

Also starring Arron Villaflor, Alex Castro, Dionne Monsanto and Kathleen Hermosa and under the direction of Rechie del Carmen, Nico Hernandez and Connie Macatuno, PHR Paraiso is expected to premiere this November 5 replacing PHR Pintada on Kapamilya Gold.

Ian Batherson to Transfer to ABS-CBN, New Kapamilya Hunk

Starstruck alumnus Ian Batherson is said to be transferring to the Kapamilya network. The Cosmo bachelor (who is one of this year's centerfold hunks) has been talking lately about the big shift in his career, and that is moving from GMA-7 to rival ABS-CBN.

Following one meaningful tweet late August, Ian said that he made a few "tactical adjustments" in his career after waiting for so long. Ian Batherson's only notable project in GMA-7 after Starstruck V was the afternoon soap Sisid following a stint in another reality show,  Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown. Ian has been visible though in several TV commercials like Close Up and Charmee with Sarah Geronimo.

"Got more things coming up in my career MALAKING changes. Makikita mo ko sa big screen soon. ;) work hard play hard ppl," expressed Ian in one of his tweets early September, implying that a new movie project is coming his way.

Ian Batherson also confirmed that he do have a meeting with ABS-CBN last September 8 and that he had a huge appointment in a TV station. 

Ian Batherson's transfer to ABS-CBN (although there's no official confirmation yet) will be the nth time that  a product of GMA-7's artista search Starstruck decided to switch networks. If the deal pushes through, Ian will be following Johan Santos, his batch mate Piero Vergara, the late Tyron Perez, Paul Salas (Starstruck Kids), Jewel Mische, Megan Young, Cristine Reyes and Paulo Avelino as Starstruck alumni who transferred to ABS-CBN.

We can't blame Ian, if he chose to leave his mother studio for greener pastures. Just look at Megan, Jewel, Cristine and Paulo and how their respective careers flourished with ABS-CBN. With this move, we might see Ian bigger than his batch mates Enzo Pineda, Rocco Nacino, and winners Sarah Lahbati and Steven Silva.

Another teleserye will heat up your TV screens via Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Isla starring Jessy Mendiola, Matteo Guidicelli, Jewel Mische and Matt Evans.

PHR Isla will mark Jessy Mendiola and Matteo Guidicelli's sexiest role so far. Given that some of the scenes will be set in an island (Caramoan), more skin will be seen from the two.

The leads also made a lot of preparations for their characters in the series. Matteo even had a new hair cut, got a darker skin and leaner body. Together with Jewel and Matt, the cast undergone immersions and acting workshops to play their roles effectively.

Precious Hearts Romances: Isla Unveiled, New Mix of Cast Revealed!

ABS-CBN will heat up rainy afternoons as Precious Hearts Romances presents: Isla hits Kapamilya Gold. PHR Isla will star Matteo Guidicelli, Jessy Mendiola, Jewel Mische and Matt Evans.

In Isla, actress Jessy Mendiola will be at her sexiest role so far being stranded in an island without anything except the clothes she's wearing. Jessy will bare more skin in Isla than what she did in Sabel.

"Given na naman na 'pag matagal na kayo sa isla, wala ka nang ibang damit kundi 'yun nalang, so natural naman siguro na unti-unti na siyang huhubaran. It's 'Precious Hearts Romances' eh, romance eh, hindi naman siya basta't hubad lang," said Jessy.

Meanwhile, Matteo Guidicelli said that he prepared physically for the sexy scenes. Matteo tried triathlon to get a leaner body, got dark, lost weight and got a new haircut. He also said that they had undergone several acting workshops and immersions for the series.

Zaijian Jaranilla Back on Teleserye with 'Lorenzo's Time' (Teaser)

Kapamilya child wonder Zaijian Jaranilla is set to return on primetime television via his new teleserye Lorenzo's Time. In the series, Zaijian will play Lorenzo (Enzo), a boy who is stricken with progeria, a rare genetic condition wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age.

In Lorenzo's Time, Zaijian will play leading man to returning Kapamilya Carmina Villaroel. Carmina and Zaijian's characters are childhood friends but the sick Enzo had to undergo cryonics. When he woke up, the people around him have aged but he himself have kept the same physical features.

Other members of the cast include Diether Ocampo, Amy Austria, Gina Pareño, Joel Torre, Alfred Vargas, ronaldo Caldez, Jewel Mische and Cherry Pie Picache. It is directed by Jerome Chavez Pobocan, the director of ABS-CBN's big hits, May Bukas Pa, Mara Clara and Nasaan Ka, Elisa?

This will be Zaijian's primetime comeback after his very successful debut in May Bukas Pa and challenging roles in Noah and Ikaw Ay Pag-ibig. Meanwhile, this will be Diether and Carmina's reunion teleserye. It can be recalled that the two topbill then ABS-CBN afternoon series, Recuerdo De Amor (Alaala ng Pag-ibig).

There is no definite airing schedule for Lorenzo's Time but probably, it will replace Dahil Sa Pag-ibig (but will air at an earlier time slot) which is now down to its last 4 weeks.

Matteo Guidicelli Stars with Jessy Mendiola and Jewel Mische in New PHR Series

Actor Matteo Guidicelli will be starring in a new TV project with television sweethearts, Jessy Mendiola and Jewel Mische. This new teleserye will be another offering of Precious Hearts Romances.

Matteo was last seen on a teleserye via My Binondo Girl where he played Andy's (Xian Lim) brother and Jade's (Kim Chiu) suitor in one part of the story. He also became a part of the defunct noontime show, Happy Yipee Yehey.

In an inetrview with ABS-CBN news, Matteo expressed his excitement over working with new leading ladies, Jessy Mendiola and Jewel Mische. Matteo also revealed that this new PHR series will be tackling a love triangle story.

“I’m very, very excited. Si Jessy Mendiola and Jewel Mische [ang makakasama ko]. This is a new ‘PHR.’ Isang love triangle with Jessy and Jewel,” he told ABS-CBN News.

Matteo's girlfriend, Maja Salvador is also excited to see her boyfriend being paired up with new actresses. The two worked together in My Binondo Girl (where Maja appears as a guest star) and the movie My Cactus Heart along with Xian Lim.

“I’m excited for him, kasi siyempre ‘di ba, mga bagong artista ‘yung mga kasama niya, ‘yung mga hindi niya pa talaga nakakatrabaho. Hindi lang ako, hindi lang si Kim (Chiu),” she said.

Maja's own PHR series, Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin is now on its last 2 weeks.

Toni Gonzaga as Adam in 'Wansapanataym' This March 24

Toni Gonzaga’s “Wansapanataym” special has been a consistent top-rater since it began two weeks ago.

Its first two episodes both made it to top 3 of Kantar Media’s overall top programs nationwide. Based on the latest data, “Wansapanataym presents Hannah Panahon” garnered a national TV rating of 22.3% compared to its rival program “Spooky Nights Presents Premonisyon” of GMA which only got 13.2%. 

Meanwhile, this Saturday (March 24), in the episode titled ‘Amanda’s Da Man,’ Toni portrays the role of Amanda, the cursed ‘woman version’ of a womanizer named Adam (Rayver Cruz). As Amanda, will Adam finally learn to value and respect women? Together with Toni and Rayver in the episode are Jewel Mische, Marina Benipayo, Veyda Innoval, Charles Christianson, Fred Payawan, Helga Krapf, and Auriette Divina. It is written by Noreen Capili and directed by Malu Sevilla.
