Daniel Padilla Signs Contract with Star Cinema; KathNiel New Movie In the Works

Today's hottest team up Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will soon have a follow up on their launching movie Must Be Love as Star Cinema is already preparing for their second movie together. The news was revealed on Daniel Padilla's contract signing with Star Cinema last Wednesday, May 15.

"Masaya ako. Sino ba namang hindi magiging masaya? Nakakatuwa dahil pumirma na ulit ako. Nung last time, iba pa ang itsura ko noon eh. Nagpapasalamat ako sa Star Cinema. 'Yun na po ang gagawin naming sunod, 'yung follow-up movie namin ni Kathryn," said Daniel who is very thankful for the big projects ABS-CBN is trusting him and Kathyn.

"Basta kasama si Kathryn sa palabas, okay na eh. Magaling na aktres si Kathryn. Nagpapasalamat kami sa tiwalang ibinibigay ng Star Cinema sa amin. Ibabalik naming ang tiwalang iyon," he promised.

When asked if the follow up movie will be showcasing him and partner Kathryn in more mature roles, Daniel answered: "Hindi. Huwag natin madaliin. Ilang taon pa lang kami. Hindi iyon ang gusto ng supporters namin, nandoon pa kami sa stage na youth ang [target]. Kapag matured na baka hindi na maintindihan ng iba. Hindi maganda sigurong maging matured kaagad. Madami pa tayong araw, panahon," he said.

Recently, it was also revealed that Daniel and Kathryn will start a new teleserye for primetime titled Got To Believe. The kilig-serye will feature them together with Benjie Paras, Carmina Villaroel, Manilyn Reynes and most of Star Magic Circle 2013 members.

Got To Believe is slated to air July 2013 as one of the Kapamilya offerings in the 60th anniversary of Philippine television.

'Got To Believe' - Kathryn and Daniel Teleserye Teaser Trailer

KathNiel is back soon on primetime television!

The hottest teen love team of this generation, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is set to bring more kilig to their fans in their upcoming teleserye Got To Believe (not a remake of the 2002 hit film of Rico Yan and Claudine Barretto).

Directed by box-office film director Cathy Garcia-Molina, Got To Believe also stars Ian Veneracion, Carmina Villaroel, Benjie Paras and Manilyn Reynes. Star Magic Circle 2013 members like Liza Soberano, Ingrid Dela Paz, Jon Lucas, Julian Estrada and Alex Diaz will also join the KathNiel teleserye.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla Topbill 'Got To Believe' Teleserye

Phenomenal love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will soon be returning on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida with their new teleserye Got To Believe (watch the teaser trailer here).

After the success of Princess and I, the KathNiel team up will once again bring 'kilig' to viewers in their upcoming primetime series. The show was revealed on May 7 during the ABS-CBN 2013 trade launch at the NBC Tent (click here for other upcoming ABS-CBN programs featured in the said trade launch).

Based on the title, many are wondering whether the KathNiel teleserye is a remake of the hit 2002 film starring Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan. Kathryn Bernardo, however, clarified that her soap with Daniel Padilla has nothing to do with the said movie.

"Noong una noong sinabi yung title nagulat kami kasi may movie na ganoon. Pero yun nga different story naman, different characters. So wala siyang connect doon sa 'Got 2 Believe' nila kuya Rico Yan (at ate Claudine)," Kathryn told ABS-CBN News.

According to reports Kathryn and Daniel will be joined by Ian Veneracion, Carmina Villaroel, Benjie Paras and Manilyn Reynes. Star Magic Circle 2013 members like Liza Soberano, Ingrid Dela Paz, Jon Lucas, Julian Estrada and Alex Diaz are also said to be part of the KathNiel teleserye.

Kathryn Bernardo and Enrique Gil - Gwiyomi (Viral Video)

Kathryn Bernardo and Enrique Gil joined the Gwiyomi/Kiyomi craze as the two also did the famous cutie song and gesture. The chemistry between KathQuen is undeniably good as what we can see in the said viral Gwiyomi video.

Kathryn and Enrique, after co-starring in Princess and I are now bound to do their respective teleseryes. Enrique will be paired now with Julia Montes via Muling Buksan Ang Puso while Kathryn will do an upcoming series with Daniel Padilla tentatively titled Shooting Star.

Daniel Padilla's newest TV commercial for the local mobile brand MyPhone immediately went viral after it was launched in ASAP 18 Sunday, April 28.

The said MyPhone TVC featured Daniel Padilla as the character in the popular mobile and online video game Temple Run, which is also a game application that can be installed in MyPhone's line of Android phones.

As the latest addition to the MyPhone family, Daniel joins other MyPhone endorsers including Coco Martin, Kathryn Bernardo, Enrique Gil, Julia Montes, Julie Anne San Jose, Martin del Rosario, Sam Concepcion, Lauren Young, Derrick Monasterio, Bea Binene, and Barbie Forteza, among others.

'Must Be Love' Gross P60.74-M in 2 Weeks - Box Office Mojo

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's tandem in Must Be Love is a certified box office success. The Star Cinema movie had grossed P60.74 million in just 2 weeks according to third party tabulator Box Office Mojo (BOM).

The KatNiel tandem will surely surpass the gross of the CocoJul movie A Moment in Time, which raked only 64.54 million on its entire 4-week run. Must Be Love has grossed more than P50 million on its first week according to Star Cinema.

Meanwhile, Must Be Love was able to beat other hollywood films, including the 3rd and 4th weeks of  Oz: The Great and the Powerful and Jack The Giant Slayer, respectively. The animated movie The Croods ruled the Philippine box office for the period.

National TV Ratings (March 9-10): Julia Montes' MMK, KathNiel on GGV Win Big!

The Maalaala Mo Kaya 'Prosti' episode of Julia Montes was most watched on weekend garnering a nationwide TV ratings of 34.2%. In the said MMK, Julia was paired with actor Kiko Estrada.

Meanwhile, sitcom Vampire ang Daddy Ko of Vic and Oyo Sotto debuted in 4th place with a rating of 21.9%. It opened quite strong but not enough to beat Wansapanataym.

Sunday, Pilipinas Got Talent topped primetime viewing followed by Rated K. The guesting of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in Gandang Gabi Vice was also a hit among viewers with 20.9%, a rating we haven't seen in a long time fromt Vice Ganda's show which is airing somehow late.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel) appeared live on The Buzz together on Sunday, March 10 to promote their movie Must Be...Love which will open in cinemas this March 13. The said guesting is part of the KathNiel weekend wherein the love team graced several ABS-CBN shows.

The KathNiel The Buzz guesting was made more 'kilig' when the two were tasked to ask questions to each other while holding hands. In their Q&A, both asked what gift they would want to receive from each other as a birthday present. Kathryn, who will celebrate her 17th birthday on March 26 revealed that she wanted a Louis Vuitton bag from Daniel while the latter wanted a pair of shoes from Kathryn come his 18th birthday on April 26.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla return on Gandang Gabi Vice this March 10 for another fun-filled and 'kilig much' episode.

KathNiel fans will surely be staying late at night just to watch Kathryn and Daniel play with Vice Ganda. Apparently, the two will promote their upcoming movie Must Be...Love showing on March 13 (Wednesday). 

ABS-CBN made this weekend a KathNiel weekend as Kathryn and Daniel will grace several Kapamilya shows such as Toda Max and Banana Split Extra Scoop on Saturday (March 9) and ASAP 18 and GGV on Sunday, March 10. Perhaps the two will also have another appearance on The Buzz.
