Wansapanataym and Rated K Beat Extra Challenge Pilot Weekend in TV Ratings

ABS-CBN continues to lead weekend programming as “Wansapanataym” special topbilled by award-winning child actress Xyriel Manabat and top-rating Sunday magazine show “Rated K” hosted by multi-awarded veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez soared high in the ratings game. 

According to the latest data of Kantar Media last Saturday (October 27), “Wansapanataym presents Jing-Jing and the Giant” became the no.1 weekend TV program in the country garnering a national TV ratings if 34.7% or almost 18 points higher than the pilot episode of the returning reality program of GMA “Extra Challenge” hosted by Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez which only got 17.3%.

Angel Locsin's Darna Reprise Gets Approval from Marian Rivera

Kapuso star Marian Rivera gave her seal of approval to Angel Locsin's possible reprise of Darna now that ABS-CBN has acquired the rights for a TV and film remake of the popular Mars Ravelo's character.

Angel Locsin has played the role of Darna on television in 2005 when she was still with GMA-7 while Marian Rivera also played the role in a Kapuso Darna TV remake in 2009.

"Okay lang, ganoon naman talaga eh," Marian was quoted as saying by entertainment website PEP, when asked for her comment on Angel Locsin's possible reprise of the Darna character.

"E, Nakailang ulit na rin ang Darna, ang Dyesebel, ang Captain Barbell, so ganoon talaga ang routine. Ito ngang Temptation of Wife, Koreanovela, nakatatlong palabas na, uulitin na naman, e. So ganun lang ang buhay, paulit-ulit," she added. 

Marian Rivera also did the remake of Mars Ravelo's Dyesebel which is reportedly being remade again by ABS-CBN, as well as the iconic Pinoy superhero, Captain Barbell. The lucky ones who will play these roles, however, are still not named.

In an earlier interview with ABS-CBN news, Angel Locsin said that she is ready to play Darna again if ever ABS-CBN would give the role to her in the future.

"Ako si Darna talaga. Pero sinurender ko ang bato noon so hindi ko alam kung ibabalik pa sa akin ang bato. Hindi ko alam, hindi pa ako makapagsalita doon kasi siyempre management po ang magsasalita doon and nothing is final pa naman," said Angel.

"Natutuwa naman ako kasi nakikita ko 'yung suporta ng mga Darna fans sa akin. 'Yung mga tao na wini-wish na sana ako pa din si Darna. So tignan natin, sabi nga nila kung sino ang mapalad sa kanya ibibigay 'yung bato," she added.

Georgina Wilson is Ginebra's 2013 Calendar Girl

Model and TV host Georgina Wilson was launched as the newest Ginebra San Miguel Calendar girl for the year 2013. Georgina followed the footsteps of friends Anne Curtis and Solenn Heussaff as the face of the brand's annual calendar.

 In the calendar photos shot by famed photographer Mark Nicdao, Georgina Wilson was looking so hot and sexy in white bikini while leaning on the white sand with the clear blue beach waters and sky in the background. In another photo, Georgina sported a pink bikini while holding a surf board. 

Other girls who became the face of Ginebra's calendars include Krista Ranillo, Iwa Moto, Marian Rivera and Maureen Larazzabal. Ginebra's 2013 calendar with sexy Georgina Wilson will be available starting this November.

John Lloyd Cruz to Star with Isabelle Daza in New Film

John Lloyd Cruz is reportedly doing a movie with Kapuso actress Isabelle Daza. The said movie will be directed by box office director Cathy Garcia-Molina.

According to a report from The Philippine Star, movie outfit Star Cinema offered the model-turned-actress and daughter of Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz a role in an upcoming movie which will star John Lloyd Cruz. Isabelle will be the third wheel in the love triangle between John Lloyd and his leading lady.

Isabelle Daza and her manager Leo Dominguez had a meeting with Star Cinema on Wednesday to discuss the said offer and reports claimed that there is a high chance that Belle will accept the offer since she had no contract with any film outfit (and who would not want to star opposite John Lloyd Cruz and be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina?)

If the 'Isabelle-John Lloyd-leading lady' project will push through, it won't be the first time that a GMA-7 talent will star with a Kapamilya actor/actress in a film.

Notable cross network projects include Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion's back-to-back starrer, For The First Time (2008) and When I Met U (2009). Dingdong Dantes also did Segunda Mano with Kris Aquino and Angelica Panganiban and now shooting for MMFF 2012 entry One More Try still with Angelica, Angel Locsin and Zanjoe Marudo.

Meanwhile, Angel Locsin is also set to star in a reunion movie with Richard Gutierrez now that she's a Kapamilya. Marian Rivera, on the other hand, will be doing a movie with Walang Hanggan star Coco Martin under Regal Films.

Dawn Zulueta Hailed as Most Beautiful Pinay for 2012, 100 Most Beautiful Women List Revealed

Walang Hanggan star Dawn Zulueta was hailed as the 'Most Beautiful Pinay for 2012' by the country's number 1 entertainment blog, Starmometer. Dawn Zulueta topped the website's poll on the "100 Most Beautiful Women in the Philippines for 2012" garnering a phenomenal  129,863  total votes from Facebook Twitter. The #DawnZuluetaMostBeautifulPinayfor2012 trended on Twitter following the said announcement.

Angel Locsin, who topped the annual poll from 2006 to 2010, came in on second place with a total of 45,010 votes followed in third place by Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera who got 30,417 votes. Angel Locsin was awarded the Hall of Fame last year and was not included in the poll but Starmometer decided to bring back Angel this year due to existent public demand.

Rounding off the top 10 are Anne Curtis (#4), Sarah Geronimo (#5), last year’s winner Kim Chiu (#6), Jodi Sta. Maria (#7), Kristine Hermosa (#8), Toni Gonzaga (#9) and Shamcey Supsup (#10).

Rafael Rosell Transfers to GMA-7, Next Kapuso Leading Man of Marian Rivera

Rafael Rosell is set to become a Kapuso to be Marian Rivera's leading man. The hunk actor is reportedly signing a contract with GMA-7 next week.

According to reports, Rafael will be the leading man of Kapuso primetime queen Marian Rivera in the remake of the hit Koreanovela Temptation of Wife which will also star Dennis Trillo and Alessandra De Rossi. He will also had a guest role in Aso ni San Roque prior to this big remake project.

Rafael Rosell, a former Star Magic artist is now under the management of Popoy Caritativo, the manager of Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo. 

Before deciding to transfer to the Kapuso netwrok, Rafael Rosell was last seen in the ABS-CBN teleserye Dahil Sa Pag-ibig opposite Denise Laurel, her long-time onscreen partner. The series also stars Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Cristine Reyes, Maricar Reyes and Christopher De Leon.

He also had his starring role in the PHR series Midnight Phantom still with Denise Laurel (now dubbed as the queen of PHR and starring in its latest oferring, Pintada).

Anne Curtis, topping the list will be the cover of YES! Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful Stars of 2012 special issue which was launched yesterday, July 2.

Anne Curtis is truly deserving for this year's title. FHM Philippines has just released its complete list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2012. Sam Pinto  was hailed as FHM's sexiest for 2 consecutive years, being the third lucky girl to top the FHM sexiest poll twice. The other two being Angel Locsin (2005 and 2010) and Katrina Halili (2006 and 2007).

Sam Pinto Tops FHM Sexiest Women in the World 2012 List

Sam Pinto defended her crown as the Philippines' sexiest in FHM's Sexiest Women in the World 2012 poll. Sam Pinto beat Angel Locsin to seal her back-to-back win as the Philippines' sexiest for 2012.

Sam Pinto garnered a total of 1,249,189 votes against Angel Locsin's 1,131,505 votes at the end of the voting period. It was indeed a head-to-head battle between the two. Angel Locsin topped the poll on FHM's 1st and 2nd updates but Sam Pinto overtook Angel Locsin on the 3rd and last update before the voting ended on June 5.

Marian Rivera Watches Walang Hanggan, Impressed by Coco's Acting

Kapuso star Marian Rivera revealed on the first episode of PEP Talk that she was impressed by Coco Martin's acting in Walang Hanggan.

The prime star of GMA 7 said that she watched Walang Hanggan once out of curiosity and eventually smitten by Coco Martin's acting.

Marian Rivera and Coco Martin will be paired up in a movie to be produced by Regal films. This cross-network project will be directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes.

Here is what Marian said on the interview:

"Siguro tinatanong nila, bakit si Coco Martin [ang next leading man ko]? Sige, sagutin ko ‘yan. Uhm, ayoko na nung ‘itsura, e, given na, na guwapo si Coco, okay siya… Ang galing niyang umarte. Natsa-challenge ako sa kanya. Kasi… naku, ‘wag magalit ang Channel 7… wala lang, minsan nakikita ko.  Siyempre, ang ano naman, taga-7 ako, tapos manonood ako [ng ABS-CBN]. Na-curious lang ako sa kanya nung sinabi sa akin na magpa-partner kaming dalawa. Sabi ko, okay. Tiningnan ko lang one time yung show niya (Walang Hanggan). Sabi ko, ‘Wow, magaling nga talaga at may puso talaga siyang umarte. Tapos sabi ko sa sarili ko, yung movie, gusto ko heavy drama. Gusto ko mag-dramahan kaming dalawa. Kasi na-challenge ako na parang ang galing niya talagang umarte."

Marian's primetime show in GMA 7 was once pitted against Coco Martin's Walang Hanggan in ABS-CBN. Now, they will be doing a movie together as one of the most awaited movie team up today.

Sam Pinto Maintains Top Post in FHM 100 Sexiest (4th Update)

Last year's FHM sexiest Sam Pinto is still leading the 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll as of May 25. Sam Pinto maintained her spot at #1 followed by Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin.

Marian Rivera switched places with another Kapuso Solenn Heusaff with the latter now holding the 3rd spot while Ellen Adarna and Jennylyn Mercado were unmoved at #5 and #6, respectively. Lovi Poe debuted in the top 10 snatching the #7 spot from Bella Padilla who moved down a notch to #8 and also bringing Cristine Reyes to #9. Jackie Rice re-entered the top 10.

Sam Pinto Overtakes Angel Locsin as 2012 FHM Sexiest (3rd Update)

Kapuso model-actress Sam Pinto is now leading the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll as of May 18, 2012. Sam, last year's no. 1 overtook Angel Locsin who is leading during the first and second update of the said poll.

Marian Rivera now climbs to no. 3 after a no. 5 finish last on week's update. Solenn Heusaff and Ellen Adarna also displace Jennylyn Mercado and Cristine Reyes to grab the 4th and 5th slot, making Jennylyn land on no. 6 place and Cristine on no. 8. Bela Padilla is at no. 7 this time, a place higher than last week's finish.

Meanwhile,  Anne Curtis now enters the top 10 replacing Toni Gonzaga.

Fans of Angel Locsin should work harder this time to regain the top spot and eventually be named as this year's FHM Sexiest Woman in the World. You have only until June 5 to vote. Here's how:

• Election period is from April 1 to June 5, 2012. All readers of FHM, here or abroad, can vote and join the promo. To participate and earn entries for the promo, users must vote in the FHM 100 Sexiest. To view the list of candidates, visit www.fhm.com.ph.

• There are 3 ways to vote:
• Fill out ballots (only original ballots will be accepted) printed in FHM and mail them to FHM 100 Sexiest Women 2012 poll, Summit Media Office, 7/F Robinsons Cybergate Tower 3, Robinsons Pioneer Complex Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City 1550.
• Register and log on to www.fhm.com.ph, where you can vote for ten (10) women per day.
• Vote via SMS by texting FHM VOTE <name of FHM candidate> to 2640

• Overall winner of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2012 poll will be the woman who gets the most votes across all editions of FHM worldwide. The FHM Philippines' Sexiest winner is the woman who garners the most votes in the nationwide poll.

• FHM Philippines reserves the right to block/prohibit/exclude votes entered though unscrupulous means such as electronic manipulation. Votes cast through these means will not be honored in the official tally.
