OTJ Cinema Trailer | Action-Packed Movie of Gerald Anderson and Piolo Pascual

The cinema trailer for the internationally-acclaimed film OTJ (On The Job) has been released. The said film had its world premiere at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival in France and recently won the jury's choice award in the 17th Puchon International Fantastic Film Fest in South Korea.

Co-produced by Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment, OTJ is set to unleash the braver Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson through the edgy direction of Erik Matti.

After its well-received world premiere in the 66th Cannes International Film Festival in France, Filipino action-thriller “OTJ” (On The Job) won two major awards in the recently held 17th Puchon International Fantastic Film Fest in South Korea.

Co-produced by Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment, the Erik Matti masterpiece “OTJ” won jury’s choice, while one of its lead actors, Joel Torre, bagged the best actor trophy. Joel played as a middle-aged hired killer in the film.

Star Cinema's Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim has grossed P10.5 million on its first day of showing according to the film outfit.

Tuhog Gross P24.7 Million in 2 Weeks | Box Office Mojo

Maindie film Tuhog of Skylight Films has grossed P24.7 million after about 2 weeks in theaters according to third party box office tabulator, Box Office Mojo (BOM).

Tuhog, a dark comedy film, stars Eugene Domingo, Leo Martinez, Enchong Dee, Empress Schuck, and Jake Cuenca, and is distributed by Star Cinema as part of its 20th anniversary celebration.

Topping the country's box office list for the period of July 24-28 is X-Men spin-off The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman, raking in P93.7 million on its first week. Tuhog emerged at the top 5, after Hollywood movies Grown Ups 2, Pacific Rim and Turbo.

OTJ Official Movie Poster Unveiled | Starring Gerald Anderson and Piolo Pascual

Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment has released the official movie poster of the action-drama film OTJ (On The Job) starring Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson. The film is one of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary presentations (watch the teaser trailer here).

Directed by Erik Matti, On The Job had a successful world premiere last May at Directors' Fortnight section of the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival in France, receiving a standing ovation. In OTJ, Piolo portrays an NBI agent running after a hitman played by Gerald. Shaina Magdayao plays the role of Piolo's wife.

Also starring Joel Torre, Joey Marquez, Angel Aquino, Empress, Leo Martinez, Michael de Mesa, Rayver Cruz and Vivian Velez, OTJ (On The Job) is coming in Philippine theaters this August 2013.

On The Job will also have a theatrical release in the United States in the last quarter of the year. Film distributor Well Go USA had acquired the North American rights to the film, according to a report on news website Indiewire. Aside from this, a Hollywood remake of the film starring A-listers is also being considered (read story here).

The full trailer of action-comedy movie Kung Fu Divas starring Comedy Queen Ai Ai Delas Alas and Kapuso Queen Marian Rivera has been released.

Kung Fu Divas is a joint production of Star Cinema, Reality Entertainment, The O&Co. Picture Factory Inc., Ai-ai de las Alas, and Marian Rivera. The movie will be distributed by Star Cinema as part of its 20th anniversary presentation.

Also satrring Roderick Paulate, Edward Mendez, beauty queens Ruffa Gutierrez, Bianca Manalo, Precious Lara Quigaman, and Ms. Gloria Diaz, and directed by Onat Diaz, Kung Fu Divas will open in cinemas nationwide on September 25, 2013.

In its continuing celebration of its two glorious decades in the movie industry, Star Cinema distributes to Philippine cinemas Thailand’s highest-grossing film of all time–“Pee Mak,” a one-of-a-kind horror-comedy film that stars Thai superstar Mario Maurer. Bea Alonzo and Dingdong Dantes Movie in the Works; Among Star Cinema's 20th Anniversary Films

Actor Dingdong Dantes and Bea Alonzo are set to do a movie together, marking the third year in a row that Dingdong, a prime artist of GMA-7, will be doing a high profile project with ABS-CBN's film production outfit.

At the sidelines of their story conference on Friday, Dingdong and Bea shared their excitement on working together. The still untitled movie will be part of Star Cinema's year-long 20th anniversary celebration, and will center on the pair as best friends.

"I'm very fortunate that I'm given the opportunity," Dingdong told ABS-CBN News. "I'm extremely happy na finally makakatrabaho ko siya," he added, referring to Bea Alonzo, who is also very enthusiastic about her team up with the Kapuso actor.

"Ako, I'm excited na finally makakatrabaho ko na siya, kasi alam naman natin na hindi siya everyday nangyayari," Bea said, before turning to Dingdong to add, "I'm very honored na makatrabaho ka."

According to reports, Star Cinema saw the chemistry between Dingdong and Bea when they appeared together in the May 2013 anniversary issue of Men's Health magazine. The management eventually thought of pairing them in a movie.

This movie will be Bea Alonzo's second Star Cinema anniversary movie following the successful Four Sisters and A Wedding. For Dingdong, it was his follow up after winning back-to-back Best Actor trophies for Segunda Mano and One More Try, both under Star Cinema.

'Raketeros' Full Trailer Released | Opens in Cinemas August 7

Star Cinema has released the full trailer of Raketeros, an upcoming comedy movie starring Herbert Bautista, Ogie Alcasid, Dennis Padilla, Andrew E. and Long Mejia. 

The movie, which will be released through Star Cinema, is directed by Randy Santiago and produced by Heaven's Best Entertainment of Harlene Bautista.

Raketeros movie plot:

Raketeros recounts the hilarious misadventures of a group of middle aged men, tasked by Don Miguel, their high school batch mate, to fetch an expensive gown from the airport and then take it to Batangas, where it will be worn by his daughter, Juicy, at her debut.

Berto, the cable guy (Herbert Bautista), Mando, the billiards player (Dennis Padilla), Julio, the singer (Ogie Alcasid), and Andoy, the priest (Andrew E) experience a series of comical adventures in accomplishing their seemingly simple mission, culminating in an action-filled pursuit by a criminal syndicate.

At one point during the car chase, when everything seemed lost, the four buddies revealed intimate truths about themselves, further strengthening their bond of friendship. They managed to survive by the skin of their teeth and take the bullet-ridden gown to Don Miguel's mansion, where it somehow turned out to be the marvel of the event.

Pee Mak starring Mario Maurer Hits Philippine Cinemas on August 28 (Full Trailer)

Thailand's highest grossing film of all time, Pee Mak Phra Khanong starring Thai-German heartthrob Mario Maurer and rising star Davika Hoorne is soon to hit Philippine theaters after conquering Asia and the US.

Produced by the GTH studio and directed by Banjong Pisunthanakun (Hello Stranger), Pee Mak is based on folklore about the ghost of a woman Mae Nak Phra Khanong who died in childbirth and the unsuspecting husband who returns from war to live with his family. 

Past movie adaptations focused more on the lovelorn ghost Mae Nak and her tragic tale, but the new film tells its story through Pee Mak (Maurer), the simple-hearted husband, and the friends who try in vain to tell him his wife’s (Hoorne) secrets.

Pee Mak is the second Thai film (after ATM) distributed in the Philippines by Star Cinema. It will be shown in selected cinemas on August 28, 2013. Watch the Philippine trailer (with English subtitles) below.

My Lady Boss Gross P19.4-M in 2 Weeks; Fours Sisters and A Wedding Hits P145-M in 3 Weeks | Box Office Mojo

Star Cinema's Four Sisters and A Wedding grossed P145 million after three weeks of showing in cinemas according to third party tabulator Box Office Mojo (BOM). The movie, which premiered with strong Hollywood competitors is a certified box office hit.

Meanwhile, GMA Films and Regal's My Lady Boss had a different fate, raking only P19.4 million after two weeks in theaters. The movie can be considered as flop, considering that it was topbilled by Kapuso queen Marian Rivera and another prime artist of GMA-7, Richard Gutierrez.
