Julia Barretto is Cofradia in ABS-CBN Teleserye

Rising Kapamilya teen star Julia Barretto is all set make all of her dreams come true as ABS-CBN officially announces that she will topbill the TV remake of Dominador Ad Castillo’s novel “Cofradia.”

Before being introduced as a member of Star Magic Circle 2013, Julia has already caught the attention of TV viewers not only because she comes from a showbiz family but because of her portrayals in drama series such as “Kokey,” “Palos,” and “Walang Kapalit.” 

For her biggest break in showbiz, Julia will play the role of Cofradia which was first portrayed by veteran actress Gloria Romero in 1953, and Gina Alajar in 1973. “Cofradia” features the story of a girl who is afraid to fall in love because of her dark complexion, but will eventually transform into a beautiful young lady through the help of a magic candle.

Julia Barretto Covers MEG Magazine May 2013 Issue - Her First Mag Cover!

Teen idol and showbiz royalty Julia Barretto is on the cover of Meg Magazine May 2013 issue. Photographed by BJ Pascual with art direction by Mica Santos, Julia was styled by Rain Dagala and Portia Ladrido for her very first mag cover appearance.

Dubbed by Meg as "emerging star," Julia Barretto will talk about her close relationships with mom Marjorie, aunts and sisters, how she feels about being part of Star Magic Circle 2013, and how she balances her acting career with her life as a high school student.

One of the most popular members of Star Magic Circle 2013, the 16-year-old Julia is about to prove that she's not just a pretty face but a talented actress to reckon. Her first acting stint will be the April 27 episode of Wansapanataym opposite another showbiz royal and co-Star Magic 2013 member, Julian Estrada.

Talks said that Julia will also be launched in full stardom via the remake of a classic film Cofradia, inspired by the famous story of Cinderella.

Enrique Gil Pairs with Liza Soberano in New Teleserye

Kapamilya heartthrob Enrique Gil will be paired with newbie Liza Soberano in an upcoming teleserye. Enrique, who was last seen on the series Princess and I will be third wheel no more when he start taping for the said project next month.

Liza Soberano is one of the 12 new faces of Star Magic Circle 2013. Though the latest of the Star Magic batch of talents, the 15-year old mestiza has already appeared on Kapamilya TV. Last year, Liza (billed as Hope Soberano) became part of the defunct afternoon soap Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo as the younger sister of Jake Cuenca.

Just recently, Liza was introduced in the big screen via the Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla starrer Must Be...Love where she played the third party in the KathNiel tandem. Incidentally, Enrique had a cameo role in the movie and fans had seen a great chemistry between Liza and Quen.

Enrique, in his interview with ABS-CBN narrated how he accidentally made Liza cry during the shoot for his cameo scene in the said movie.

"Nagulat siya kasi hindi niya alam na ako ang maggi-guest sa eksena, paglabas niya, banggaan kami. 'Oy sorry.' Hindi niya ako nakita. Noong aksyon, paglabas niya 'boom.' Tapos 'yung knees niya nag-weaken. Tapos tumakbo, tapos umiyak. 'Oy wag ka umiyak joke lang yon,'" said Enrique who describes Liza as "cute na cute."

According to Enrique, he will be part of two teleseryes this year and one will start shooting this April. The actor is also slated to do another big screen project within the year.

A showbiz royalty (as the daughter of Miss Saigon star Jenine Desiderio and singer Juan Miguel Salvador), Janella Salvador joins the ranks of another showbiz prodigy KC Concepcion and stars like Anne Curtis and Carla Abellana as Palmolive girls.

He says the show’s staff called him up, not to inform him if he passed, but to inform him of their taping schedule. And he even had to memorize his script in ten minutes.

Jerome says he wants to give showbiz a chance and postponed his collegiate studies at the Mapua University. He shares that he likes making people smile and he likes the acknowledgement one gets in the business aside from the fame and the lifestyle. Jerome wants to maintain the ‘good boy’ image he has on “Be Careful with My Heart” but says he eventually wants to take on more versatile roles. He adds that he feels lucky to become a part of Star Magic and hopefully become a serious actor in the years to come.
