Iza Calzado's Boyfriend Ben Wintle Appears on The Buzz

Kahit Puso'y Masugatan lead star Iza Calzado's boyfriend, Filipino-British Ben Wintle appeared on The Buzz (August 19) for the first time to greet the actress, who celebrated her birthday last August 12.

Ben Wintle, who is an entrepreneur, sportsman and co-founder of TrustCircle (a matchmaking website), shared on a taped interview on The Buzz that he and Iza were first introduced at a party of a common friend before going out on several dates.

Ben Wintle said that he and Iza had a lot of things in common, one reason she found the actress interesting. Both Ben and Iza were into health and fitness and they had the chance to work out, eat and travel together.

When asked what gift he would give Iza, Ben said it would be the gift of more time to get more sleep and to do all the exercise that she wants to do. He also shared his three wishes for his girlfriend.

“First is I hope that your passion continues to lead you to more fresh and challenging projects. Second, I hope that work doesn’t keep her up so late at night because I want her to stay healthy and be around for another 30 years. My last wish is that I hope she enjoys the dinner I’m gonna cook for her tonight,” he said.

Iza Calzado, who was very surprised of Ben's appearance on the Kapamilya showbiz-oriented program, thanked Ben for granting the interview.

Iza also shared how Ben planned to surprise her on her birthday with a flash mob. She recalled being inside a restaurant when the people on the other table did a dance routine.

Iza had met Ben's family while Ben met Iza's father, the late Lito Calzado when the Fil-Brit was still courting her. When asked by host Toni Gonzaga how many months (or years) Iza and Ben have been officially together, the actress  refused to answer, saying that she will reserved that on her next The Buzz guesting.

ASAP 2012 and Rated K are the most-watched daytime and primetime programs, respectively last Sunday, August 13 based on the latest TV ratings data provided by Kantar Media/TNS. The Buzz is still a winner over 2-weeks old H.O.T. TV.

ABS-CBN Primetime Bida continues to reign weeknights while Prime-Tanghali and Kapamilya Gold are also winners on daytime. Aryana won over the "no commercial break" premiere of highly-anticipated K-Drama Moon Embracing The Sun.

Maalaala Mo Kaya and Rated K topped weekend viewing last August 4 and 5, 2012 according to the latest TV ratings data provided by Kantar Media/TNS. Debuting Kapuso showbiz oriented-show H.O.T. TV (Hindi Ordinaryong Tsismis) was no match to ABS-CBN's The Buzz, garnering only a single digit rating on Sunday.

Meanwhile, GMA-7's rigodon on weekend was still ineffective since ABS-CBN's LUV U and Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal were still on top of its rival programs.

Kantar Media (July 28-30) TV Ratings: MMK and Rated K Top Weekend Viewing

Maalaala Mo Kaya starring JM de Guzman and Marlann Flores topped Saturday viewing nationwide according to the latest ratings data provided by Kantar Media/TNS for the period off July 28 to 30, 2012. Last Sunday, July 29, Rated K also clinched the top spot.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal and LUV U are consistent winners in their respective timeslots, prompting GMA-7 to shuffle their programming wherein Together Forever ( of JuliElmo tandem) which was shown on Sundays opposite LUV U  will be moved to Saturdays after Startalk TX.  Manny Pacquiao's Manny Many Prizes will then move to Together Forever's time slot on Sundays.

On weeknights, Walang Hanggan is still invincible on top followed by Princess and I, TV Patrol, Aryana and Lorenzo's Time. Jodi and Papa Chen's series Be Careful With My Heart is also daytime's no. 1.

Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos and primetime TV princess Kim Chiu will glitter up the small screen this weekend as three top-rating shows of ABS-CBN–”Showbiz Inside Report” (SIR), “ASAP 2012,” at “The Buzz”–feature the much anticipated suspense-horror film of the year, “The Healing,” which will hit theaters nationwide on Wednesday (July 25).

Cristine Reyes Apologizes to Ara Mina in Public

Actress Cristine Reyes made a public apology to her sister Ara Mina on The Buzz, June 24. Cristine and Ara had a rift months ago with the latter filing a libel and grave coercion case against Cristine (read story here).

In a live interview with The Buzz on Sunday, Cristine aired her sincere apology to sister Ara Mina.

“I’m sorry and I would like to apologize if ever I offended you, sumama ang loob mo sa akin. I tried my best na pumunta sa iyo, alam mo iyan ate. Sinabi ko pa iyan sa ‘yo na kung gusto mo luluhod ako sa harapan mo. Sana lumambot na ang puso mo sa akin para maayos na itong gulo, para tahimik na, para sa ikakatahimik ng pamilya natin.” 

Ara demanded through a counter-affidavit that Cristine make a public apology before she seat in a reconciliation talk with her younger sister (read Ara's statement here).

Cristine is hopeful that she can iron out things with sister Ara for the sake of their mother. Cristine admitted her wrong and said that the rift with Ara is a learning experience for her.

“Sa lahat ng experiences, troubles, problems sa buhay, na-realize ko na huwag tayong susuko. Bawat problema, may natututunan ako. Doon ako tumitibay. Kasama siya sa buhay talaga eh. Boring ang buhay kapag walang problema, lahat tayo dumadaan diyan.”

Andi Eigenmann: I was abused by Albie Casiño

Andi Eigenmann confessed on The Buzz, May 6 that she was physically and verbally abused by ex-boyfriend and father of her child, Albie Casiño. The actress revealed that Albie used to beat her up when they were still together.

A crying Andi Eigenmann dropped the bomb on Sunday as she recalled how Albie beat her up when she went to the latter's house to tell him about their baby.

“It was not necessarily the day na we found out because we tried and tried to check if it was really confirmed. This was around the time that our friend AJ passed away. Medyo naging cold na po kasi siya sa akin but since I was doing this alone, kailangan ko pa rin po siya kasi siya po ang daddy ng anak ko. Nung time po na iyon, siya ang boyfriend ko. Alam po niya iyon." “I went to his house, pagdating ko pa lang pinapauwi na po niya ako. He doesn’t want to talk to me anymore. He was being mean, verbally abusing me. Because he was verbally abusing me, I slapped him. Because I slapped him, he got mad at me, grabbed me by the collar, hit me against the rock wall in his garage and smacked me eight times until I went down on the floor.”

Andi also revealed to The Buzz host Boy Abunda that it was not the only time Albie beat her. Andi recounted that Albie also hit her at the Star Magic Ball after he accused her of cheating.

Albie wasn't contented with that as Andi also confessed that the former Mara Clara leading man use to threaten her that he will ruin her career. It can be recalled that Albie posted on social network Formspring that Andi cheated on him with 10 boys.

“When he said on Formspring that I cheated on him with 10 boys because he wanted to deny the fact that he beat me up, I called him right away and asked him why he had to do that. At the beginning he said sorry and that he’s gonna take it back as long as he gets to get an interview pero binawi niya po tapos sinabi niya na 'I’m going to lie and lie until I die. ‘I don’t care. You have to be ruined.’ Sisirain niya raw ang career ko. Hindi raw siya papayag na I’d go further. He’s higher than me daw because he was the bida in ‘Mara Clara.’ Those were his last words.”

Andi also revealed that Albie Casiño asked her not to agree to get a DNA test because he would be disowned by his family if they found out.

Despite all that has happened, Andi told Boy Abunda that she does not regret having loved Casiño because he is still the father of her baby. However, Andi said she'll never forget what Albie did to her everytime she sees the ex-boyfriend, what with the damaged his ex-beau had caused.

Divine Maitland-Smith Says Rhian Ramos is her Crush

PBB Unlimited's Divine Maitland-Smith disappoints Slavine fans after confessing that her showbiz crush is Rhian Ramos and not Slater Young. Both Divine and Slater guested on The Buzz last Sunday, April 29.

Divine said in her The Buzz interview that she likes Slater but as we all know, Divine's sexual preference is not the kind of Slater and besides, she had a girlfriend.

“If my sexual preference was different, of course, I would be interested in Slater. Pero, I am a lesbian and proud of it but Slater has the characteristics of a guy that I would be looking for if I were straight,” said Divine.

Slater Young had admitted that Divine is his ultimate crush. Even inside the PBB house, Slater had his liking towards Divine. One time while partying inside Kuya's house, the two shared a kiss as part of a dare. He said he did not hesitate to kiss Divine because they were very close and with the knowledge that he doesn't have a chance as Divine is in a relationship outside.

Meanwhile, Divine admitted that Slater has all the qualities a woman would like in a man saying that the PBB Unlimited big winner is very manly and has a lot of charm.

“He’s very manly. Because I would prefer a more manly guy. He’s very manly, he opens the door, he’s very charming, he’s lahat. He’s a good guy,” shared Divine.

“Pero I know who I am and I’ve been this way since bata ako so…I mean I love Slater so much but… I don’t know. As for now, I know who I am,” she added.

When asked if she is willing to take part in a love team with Slater if a showbiz project knocks, Divine welcomed the possibility of a true Slavine team up. 

“I would love to do it. It’s a big challenge for me. Plus we’d have so much fun working together,” ended Divine.

Nadia Montenegro on Annabelle Rama: "She's not worth a tear"

Former actress Nadia Montenegro had her exclusive interview with Boy Abunda last Sunday, April 22 on The Buzz. In the said talk, Nadia shared her feelings about Annabelle Rama.

While narrating the story, Nadia was teary-eyed but she made sure that not a single tear drop from her eyes because according to her, Annabelle is not worth the tear.

Nadia Montenegro said it all started when she and her husband Boy Asistio trusted Rama to manage the careers of their two daughters who also wanted to try show business. During that time, she said she was really comfortable that nothing bad will ever happen to her kids because it was Rama who’s looking after them.

Nadia narrated that the problem started when she and Annabelle had an argument regarding the schedule of her daughters, to which from the very start was agreed upon to prioritize school and should only work during weekends. But soon that would not be the case.

Nadia narrated:

“When I told her na ‘Tita Annabelle nag-usap na kami ni Boy and then we decided na baka pupuwede namang mapag-usapan na natin ito. Patigilin na natin ang mga bata. Mag-aaral na lang sila.’ Hindi raw puwede kasi package deal daw sila ng mga talents daw niya. Hindi daw puwede kasi masisira daw pangalan niya sa ganito.” 

Asked why people should believe her stories, Montenegro said: 

“Totoo lang ang sinasabi ko. Kilala niyo kung anong klaseng babae ang kalaban ko. Patawarin nga ako ng Diyos, kung hindi lang ako si ako, ibang laban. Sabi ko nga matagal nang burado sa mundo itong taong ito. Pero hindi ganun. Gusto ko makita siyang naghihirap sa mga kasalanan niya.”

She also gave a message to Rama. 

“Annabelle you claim that you go to church everyday pero araw-araw mayroon ka ring sinusumpang tao. Araw-araw may sinasaktan kang tao. Nasa korte na tayo. Tama na,” 

Right after the interview aired, Rama was quick to air her side on Twitter.

“Demonyitang sinungaling! Napakapangit mo sa TV, mukha kang mangkukulam. Napakasinungaling mo,” she said.

Daniel Padilla Gives Kathryn Bernardo a Necklace

Young Kapamilya hearthrob Daniel Padilla gave his Princess and I leading lady Kathryn Bernardo a necklace on the latter's 16th birthday. Kathryn, herself confirmed this in an interview with Push.com.ph.

Kathryn related that the necklace daniel gave him had a peace sign in it which she liked so much.

"Parang accessories lang talaga na may peace sign. Gusto ko ng peace sign, so sabi niya 'sige sa iyo na lang.' So binigay niya sa akin last two weeks ago." 

Kathryn turned 16 last March 26 and Daniel also gave the Princess and I lead star a box of chocolates and guess what? LOVE.

"Binigyan ko si Kat ng tsokolate at saka pagmamahal," said Daniel in one interview.

Daniel Padilla has been very vocal with his interest on Kathryn. Recently in The Buzz, Daniel confessed that what he felt for Kathryn yet he's not quite sure if that feling is already love.

“Di ko po alam pero ngayon ko lang po naramdaman ito sa isang babae,” said Daniel to host Boy Abunda.

Daniel said that he always make Kathryn feel so important by treating her like a real princess on the set since they don't have the chance to talk personally about his true feelings for the young lady. He said there's no need since he is very vocal with it in numerous interviews.

“Alam naman po niya na gusto ko talaga siya. Siguro nararamdman naman niya.” 

When asked by Tito Boy of Kathryn's reaction on his being vocal about his feelings with her, Daniel said, “Wala naman po pero siyempre nakita ko naman na natutuwa naman pero ‘di niya ipinapakita na gusto na niya ako.” 

Daniel also revealed in his The Buzz live interview that as a newbie in the industry, he needed some sort of inspiration for work and that inspiration is Kathryn. How sweet!

Daniel and Kathryn are now busy promoting their teleserye, Princess and I which will premiere this April 16 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida replacing E-boy.

Gerald Anderson Admits Courting Sarah Geronimo

Action drama Prince Gerald Anderson finally admitted that he is courting Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo. In his interview in The Buzz last Sunday, March 11, Gerald became vocal on his intentions with Sarah.

When asked by host Charlene Gonzales if he was courting Sarah, Gerald thought for a while before answering 'Opo.' He also revealed that his feelings for Sarah started to erupt during the last days of their shooting in Won't Last A Day Without You. 

“Siguro nung last shooting day ng ‘Won’t Last A Day Without You’... Nagkukuwentuhan kami sa gilid. Doon ko na-realize. Nagulat ako kasi ang dami niyang inopen up sa akin, ang dami niyang shinare. Doon ko nakita na ‘Wow she’s beautiful,’” he said.

Gerald also said that its Sarah's being true to herself attracted him more to the singer-actress. Gerald did not specify when they started to became close but in just a spark, he realized that there's no turning back "ito na yun".

Gerald told The Buzz that Sarah was her 'ideal wife' although he reiterated that he wanted to settle down 7 years from now despite her mother's go-signal to marry at his age. What Gerald is thankful right now is Sarah, who gave him so much inspiration.

“Gusto ko lang talaga magpasalamat sa kanya (Sarah) for the inspiration that she gives me and for making me happy every day. Nawawala 'yung stress ko dahil sa kanya. That’s a good start. Dun na lang muna,” stated Gerald at the end of his Buzz interview.

'Sarah G Day' is Worldwide Trending Topic!

Sarah Geronimo conquered the world yesterday, February 19 as she became a trending topic on micro-blogging site Twitter not only in the Philippines but also in United Arab Emirates. Sarah also landed at the Worldwide trending topics at no. 1 for quite a long time.

'Sarah G Day' landed at the no. 1 spot in the Philippines, UAE and Worldwide trending topics that even American idol Season 11 alumnus, Stefano Langone asked what was the buzz was all about. 

Stefano asked:

"What is Sarah G. Day? Remained no. 1 trending on twitter. don’t have any idea about it??"

Later Stefano found out and exclaimed:

"Filipinos, you really have the power to trend anyone! Social Networking is really fun in the Philippines! :)"

Even half-Pinoy Grammy Award-winning artist, Bruno Mars said:

"Well I Guess Philippines Invaded the Trending Box. Sarah G. Day, #GGVFinale, Kim Chui, Poging Gabi Vice on #WWTT #AWESOME!"

'Sarah G Day' was it called because Sarah Geronimo graced ABS-CBN shows from noontime till night as she had her farewell episode on ASAP, a guesting on The Buzz and also at Vice Ganda's Gandang Gabi Vice. Sarah will have to give up ASAP 2012  for her upcoming musical variety show, Sarah G Live which will air next Sunday, February 26 at 8:00 PM after Rated K.

Sarah will join the ranks of Superstar Nora Aunor, Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos, Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Diamond Star Maricel Soriano who all had their own weekly musical shows. The farewell episode of Sarah at ASAP 2012 hinged on this concept with Iza Calzado and KC Concepcion imitating Vilma and Sharon, respectively.

Sarah's guesting on GGV sealed the 'Sarah G Day' but still trends on Twitter. Sarah had been a trending topic for about 8 hours and 45 minutes worldwide. Next Sunday, Sarah and Vice will join forces for a Sunday night show treat (read story here).
