MMFF 2012 Stars Parade Atop Festive Floats (Photos)

The MMFF 2012 parade started around 2 PM at the Quirino Grandstand and followed the path to Roxas Boulevard before finally halting to the SM MOA Grounds (see complete parade route here). The lead stars of the eight participating films paraded atop huge floats which took inspiration from their respective movies' theme.

The MMFF 2012 Parade of Stars will be telecast Sunday, December 23 on TV-5 at 9:30 PM. The MMFF 2012 awards night will be held on December 27 while the entire festival will run from December 25 to January 8.

MMFF 2012 Parade of Stars: MMDA Releases Traffic Advisory, Alternate Routes

The most-awaited Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2012) Parade of Stars will happen on Sunday, December 23 and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority along with the organizers of the 38th MMMFF announced the route of the traditional Parade of Stars and alternate routes for motorists.

The annual Parade of Stars will feature the stars of participating films atop huge floats and many people will surely flock the parade's route, anticipating MMFF's festive kick-off. This year's entries include Sisterakas, One More Try, El Presidente, The Strangers, Shake Rattle and Roll 14, Sosy Problems, Thy Womb and  Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako.

Parade starts in front of the Quirino Grandstand left turn at T.M. Kalaw, right turn to Roxas Blvd., right turn at Buendia Avenue, left at Macapagal Avenue, right at Seaside Blvd., left at Jose Diokno Blvd., right at Harbor Drive, drop off point at Block 21 within SM MOA Grounds.

Alternate Routes:

Southbound - From T.M. Kalaw, left turn at A. Mabini straight to F. B Harrison, right turn to EDSA, left to Roxas Blvd.

Nothbound - From EDSA, left turn at Taft Avenue straight to corner T.M. Kalaw

MMFF 2012 Official Entries (Mainstream and New Wave Films Final Roster)

38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2012) logoThe Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has released the final roster  of the official entries to the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2012). The movies will be released on the big screen Christmas Day.

The 2012 MMFF will be kicked off by the Parade of Stars on December 23 (Sunday), with the Gabi ng Parangal set for December 27. The filmfest officially ends on January 7, 2013.

Video: Enchong Dee's Death Defying Stunt on His ASAP 2012 Birthday Prod

Actor Enchong Dee did a riveting performance on his birthday celebration in ASAP 2012. The Ina Kapatid Anak star indulge the audience with his death-defying stunt while riding a sort of a semi-circle circus wheel.

Before Enchong heated up the stage of ASAP 2012, an introductory video was first shown with him featured in several challenging adventures like bungee jumping and sky diving while he said that he live without limits—no boundaries and no rules.

Enchong Dee, who turned 24 on November 5, said his only wish during his special day is for his family to have good health and happy life. He also thanked the Lord and all his fans who have been supportive of all his projects. One of those is the MMFF 2012 entry The Strangers where Enchong traded off his clean look for a dirty hunter.

The Strangers Trailer Unveiled (Starring Julia Montes, Enchong Dee and Enrique Gil)

Check out the newly-released movie trailer of The Strangers starring Julia Montes, Enchong Dee and Enrique Gil. The Strangers, an action-horror film will premiere on December 25, 2012 being an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Directed by Lawrence Fajardo of the Cinemalaya 2012 Directors Showcase Best Film Posas (Shackled), The Strangers is said to be a movie about province tales on aswang and hunters. It is produced by Quantum Films in association with MJM Productions and released through Star Cinema.


"You will feel alone here, at grabe 'yung suspense, magugulat kayo sa mangyayari, sa gagawin namin,"  Enrique Gil told ABS-CBN News during the press conference for the entries to the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival.

"May pagka-horror, may pagka-suspense din, more on suspense siya," Enrique added. "Basta makikita nila, 'Oh my gosh, sila 'yun?'"

Aside from Enchong, Julia and Enrique, The Strangers also stars JM de Guzman, Cherry Pie Picache, Janice De Belen, Johnny Revilla and Jaime Fabregas.

Julia Montes and Enchong Dee Break up: Report

Hot Kapamilya stars Enchong Dee and Julia Montes had already split up  according to a source of Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP).

In a report posted on PEP.ph on November 10, it was mid-October when Julia and Enchong decided to call it quits. The source said that both parties were good after the break up, which surfaced even there's no confirmation that the two really became together officially.

According to PEP, Julia was already in a "no speaking terms" with Enchong since the shooting of their MMFF movie The Strangers begun in August. The two, however were made to "sit and talk" over with the help of their friends and after that, Julia and Enchong became okay until their alleged break up mid-October.

Julia Montes and Enchong Dee had been an item early this year. The two were together in the Star Cinema film The Reunion although the 17-year-old actress was paired with Enrique Gil while the 24-year-old Enchong was paired with Jessy Mendiola. 

Enchong had been very vocal about courting Julia while the Walang Hanggan star always insist that they were friends when asked about the real status between them. Last June, Julia's grandmother confirmed that Enchong is indeed courting Julia in a guesting on Kris TV.

One of the official entries to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2012), The Strangers is ready to scare us this Christmas. The movie stars the hottest young actors of today—Julia Montes, Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil and JM de Guzman.

Directed by Lawrence Fajardo of the Cinemalaya 2012 Directors Showcase Best Film Posas (Shackled), The Strangers is said to be a movie about province tales on aswang and hunters. Produced by Quantum Films, this action-horror will premiere on December 25, 2012.

In an interview with website Push, Enchong revealed sme details about the film. “More on action and horror siya. Tapos subtle approach yung romance. Mas sexy yung role ko dun so dapat tinapay ang abs. Nagsimula na ako magworkout, ang hirap!”

MMFF 2012 Eight Official Entries Revealed!

The eight official entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2012 have been revealed. Out of the 14 film script submissions, only 8 made it as official MMFF 2012 entries which will be exhibited on Christmas day.

Six film scripts did not make it to the final cut including Ben Tumbling of Scenema Concept International, Tuhog of Quantum Films, Sa ‘Yong Sinapupunan (Thy Womb) of Direk Dante Mendoza and Solar Films, My Prince Charming and Death March of Deus Lux Mea Films and Juan Dela Cruz from Cinemedia.

MMFF 2012 List of Entries Submitted by Film Outfits

Movie outfits have started submitting their scripts and film entries for the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2012. The submitted entries will then be reviewed and considered until the MMFF selection committee come up with the official list of entries that will be shown Christmas day.

Here are some of the movies/scripts that were submitted by their respective production outfits for consideration in the MMFF 2012:

To summarize, the MMFF selection committee will be screening  6 drama, 2 fantasy, 2 comedy, 2 horror, and 1 romantic comedy movie to make it to the official list of MMFF 2012 entries. The official list of entries to the 38th MMFF 2012 is expected to be announced this coming June 18.
