Vhong Navarro Speaks Up on Buzz ng Bayan (January 26): "Binaboy nila ako."

It's Showtime host Vhong Navarro had an exclusive tell-all interview with Boy Abunda on Buzz ng Bayan, Sunday (January 26) about the issue that he was beaten up and threatened by a group of men inside a friend's condo in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

According to Vhong Navarro, a certain Denise Millet Cornejo who she met two years ago invited him to her condo on January 17. Vhong revealed that something happened between them, as the girl showed motives of doing that but there is no sexual intercourse involved.

Cornejo once again invited Vhong which was scheduled on January 22. The comedian recalled that a certain Cedric Lee pointed a gun at him as soon as he was settled inside Denise's condo. He was then tied and later mauled by of a group of 6 people. He said that he was treated like hell, blackmailed and was asked to tell that he raped his friend while somebody is video taping him.

According to Vhong, the group tried to extort P200,000 from him at first. However, the amount ballooned to P2 million on the way to the police station to which he was forced to sign a blotter for an alleged rape complaint.

In the said Buzz ng Bayan interview, Vhong denied the accusation that he is a rapist. He told Boy Abunda that he hasn't done anything wrong to the offenders and he's only at fault to his girlfriend. He said that he's doing the interview because he don't want the same thing to happen to him or to anyone else.

Vhong said that he is hoping that justice will prevail, despite his fear that something might happen to his loved ones, particularly his family, girlfriend and two sons.

Vhong Navarro Attacked, Beaten Up by a Group of Men in Fort Condo

It's Showtime host Vhong Navarro was reportedly attacked by a group of men inside a condominium unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City and is currently recovering in the hospital.

Film and TV director Chito Roño, Vhong Navarro's manager, told ABS-CBN News in a statement that the incident happened Wednesday (January 22). According to Direk Chito, a female friend invited Vhong to visit her in her condominium in Fort Taguig.

When Vhong entered the condo's premises, he was allegedly blindfolded, tied and beaten up by several men. The suspects also threatened Vhong and tried to extort money from him.

Vhong, the report said, was unable to detail the incident because he still can't speak properly. The authorities are still yet to find out the motives behind the attack.

Because of the severe injuries he got, Vhong might undergo surgical operation. While recuperating, the 37-year-old comedian will be temporarily absent on It's Showtime and on his other showbiz commitments.

Toda Max Spoofs 'The Voice of the Philippines' (August 17); Who will be the coaches?

Following the trend of one of today’s hottest singing competitions, ABS-CBN’s “The Voice of the Philippines”, the hit comedy show “Toda Max” gives its own rendition of a battle of the voices with its very own “Toda Voice”.

Auditions will be held in order to join in on the competition, with the coaches being Bamboo’s, Apl.de.Ap’s, Sarah Geronimo’s, and Lea Salonga’s kalokalikes—and all those in Beverly Gils who think they have a talent for singing are eager to find out if they have what it takes to make the judges’ chairs turn.

One of the community’s tricycle drivers, Boogie (Bugoy Drilon) happens to have that knack for singing. However, with his confidence running low, he struggles to bring himself to sing in front of other people. Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Justin (Vhong Navarro), though, have heard Boogie sing—and because of the potential that they know he has, they push him to believe in himself, hoping that he tries out for “Toda Voice”.

Will Isabel and Justin have what it takes to coach Boogie behind the scenes so that he can show his true talent?

Dr. Eric Tayag Storms 'Toda Max' | Will he do the Zumba? (June 29)

One of today’s hottest dance crazes takes Beverly Gils by storm as health becomes wealth on this week’s episode of “Toda Max”.

DOH Assistant Secretary Dr. Eric Tayag pays a visit to Beverly Gils to promote wellness and fitness to the residents. Asked to select someone to lead their community exercises, the residents choose Justin (Vhong Navarro) because of his experience as a gym instructor. 

Catching on to current trends, Zumba becomes the chosen exercise, but Lady G (Pokwang) takes on the challenge as another way to compete with everyone else. She decides to form her own team of physical fitness instructors to teach Zumba, eager to prove that other people can do a better job than Justin.

Preparations for the wedding of the characters of Angel Locsin (Isabel) and Vhong Navarro (Justin) in the hit sitcom “Toda Max” are now underway. But before anything else, Isabel and Justin must undergo counseling to ensure that they are ready for marriage.

In this Saturday’s (May 25) episode of “Toda Max,” the King of Talk Boy Abunda will serve as marriage counselor to Justin and Isabel. The couple will recall their cute love story. Boy will also touch on Justin’s love-hate relationship with Isabel’s father, ‘Tay Mac (Al Tantay).

Pokwang, Vhong, Yeng and Paulo to Grace Independent Day Celebrations in the Middle East

The Filipino Channel (TFC) Middle East drives the annual Independence Day celebrations this year with a parade of the best of homegrown entertainment via Kapamilya Kalayaan Karavan 2013.   Kapamilya stars will make the rounds of celebrations in Kuwait, Dubai, Oman and Lebanon in the caravan this June which will be mounted by TFC in partnership with the Filipino community organizations in the Middle East (M.E.).

  

On June 7, Vhong Navarro and Pokwang will bring their signature music and brand of humor at the Musika at Tawanan 2 at Al Arabi Basketball Stadium, Mansouriya, Kuwait.  In partnership with the Alliance of Filipino Organizations in Kuwait (ALLFIL-OK), TFC will bring two of the industry’s biggest names who managed to shift from comedy to other talents with success.

Coco Martin and Gretchen Barretto in a 'May-December Love Affair' Movie Concept

Gretchen Barretto and Coco Martin might be working together in a movie sometime soon. In her interview with ABS-CBN showbiz oriented talk show The Buzz on Sunday, Gretchen said that she's open to work with Coco in a movie project.

Coco, according to Gretchen is trying to conceptualize a script about  a May-December love affair where they can again work together. It can be recalled that Gretchen had a guesting in Coco Martin's action drama series Juan Dela Cruz recently.

"Hindi ko pa naiisip iyon pero I’m flattered para maisip ni Coco iyon gawin with me," she said. 

"Lahat ng mga proyekto na dumating sa akin, puro magaganda. Basta na lang nahulog sa akin. So I feel like if we are meant to do a movie with Coco, I’d gladly do it," she added.

Aside from Coco, Gretchen Barretto said that she wanted to work with different actors, more especially those who she haven't work with yet. Gretchen, took her guesting in Toda Max as an example where she will work with most of the cast for the first time.

"Para sa akin, gusto ko makatrabaho lahat ng puwede ko pang hindi nakakatrabaho, mga hindi ko pa nakakasama," she said. "On Tuesday, I’m taping for ‘Toda Max’ and for the first time I’ll be working with Angel Locsin. I’m really looking forward to it, with Pokwang and Vhong Navarro. Gusto ko makilala lahat," she revealed.

There have been no confirmations yet on Gretchen's follow up project after Princess and I but there are reports that she might do the cancelled Alta which ABS-CBN is now resurrecting.

Joey and Keempee de Leon Visits 'Toda Max' this March 9

Keempee de Leon will be a charming homosexual in “Toda Max” this Saturday (March 9) while the look-alike of his father, Joey de Leon, will also join in the fun.

Keempee has played a lot of homosexual roles before but according to him, most of these only landed to him by chance. “I’m not very picky with work. Whatever is given to me, I’ll do it if I can. If these roles make the viewers happy, why not do it?” he said.

He will be joined by the look-alike of his father who won in the “Kaloka-like” segment of It’s Showtime.

In the episode entitled “Dis Gay’s in Lab With You Justin”, a smart and witty gay called Wella (Keempee) will arrive in Beverly Gil’s to temporarily drive Tol’s (Robin Padilla) tricycle so that Justin (Vhong Navarro) will have extra income to pay for his debt to Lady G (Pokwang). Because Wella is superb in handling several small businesses all at the same time, Justin will ask help from him in managing his restaurant. The two will be inseparable, causing Justin to lose time for his girlfriend Isabel (Angel Locsin).

Billy Crawford Competes with Vhong Navarro for Angel Locsin's Heart in Toda Max (Feb 2)

Billy Crawford will guest on “Toda Max” this Saturday (February 2) where he will compete with Vhong Navarro in a series of showdowns to impress Angel Locsin.

When asked if they face this kind of tight competition in real life, Vhong answered, “There’s no competition between me and Billy. We treat each other almost like siblings especially on It’s Showtime where we are co-hosts. We don’t feel insecure or jealous of each other at all,” he said.

“We have our own talents; for example, apart from dancing, he excels more in singing while I’m more experienced in comedy,” he added.

But will they be able to use these talents to impress Isabel (Angel) on “Toda Max”? Pao (Billy) will try to prove that he is more worthy of Isabel so he will challenge Justin (Vhong) to a basketball showdown. Just like in the teleserye “Princess and I”, spectators will be divided between ‘Team Pao’ and ‘Team Justin’. Who will win Princess Isabel’s hand in the end?

Joey Marquez Returns in Toda Max as Pokwang's 'One True Love'

Veteran comedian Joey Marquez returns to “Toda Max” for a string of guestings this January and February.

He will portray as Daniel, Lady G’s (Pokwang) one true love. He first appeared in “Toda Max” early 2012 where he competed with Tol (Binoe) for Lady G’s attention. This time, he will do the contrary by helping Lady G and Justin (Vhong) gain back lost sales because of the newly passed Sin Tax Bill.

This Saturday (January 19), Daniel will try all sorts of gimmicks to make people return to their vices including the plan to turn Justin’s restaurant into a night club and a gambling hub.

Vhong Navarro Dances with Sons Yce and Bruno in It's Showtime

Vhong Navarro was joined by his sons Bruno and Yce in a dance number with the Streetboys to open the noontime variety show It's Showtime on Saturday, January 12. The dance number was first announced on Vhong's birthday celebration last January 4.

Last year, the two did a surprise song number for Vhong's birthday and this is the first time that Bruno and Yce were seen dancing with their father on national television. With their talent, the two can easily enter showbiz. However, Vhong is keen that even the more decided between the two to follow his father's footsteps—Yce—should first finish his studies before showbiz.

The 16-year-old Bruno (Fredriek Vhong) is Vhong's son with a certain Ciara, Vhong's non-showbiz ex-girlfriend while the younger Yce (Isaiah Vhong), 14, is the son of Vhong to ex-wife Bianca Lapus. Of the two, Bruno is the better dancer but Yce is the more good-looking and the more "iyakin" so he is more suited in acting. It would be nice if Yce can be a part of Be Careful With My Heart since he reportedly had a crush on Janella Salvador (who plays Nikki, the daughter of Sir Chief in the top-rating series).

Pokwang, Lucky in Love with British Suitor?

Pokwang has just confirmed the arrival of her British suitor this month. Will she finally find love this year?

“We’re just taking things slow. I think it’s important that we get to know each other more before jumping into a relationship,” she said. Although she admitted that there’s nothing romantic going on between them yet, the comedienne said that she’s hopeful that she’ll find love soon.

Apart from this, Pokwang hopes for another bountiful year and good health. “I would like to thank the Lord for the blessings I have received last year and I pray that they will continue this year. I also pray for good health for me and my loved ones.”

Unlike Pokwang who wishes for good health, her character in “Toda Max” will threaten lives this Saturday (January 12). In her belief that water snakes are lucky this year, Lady G (Pokwang) will scatter snakes all over the neighborhood causing the reptiles to go on a biting spree. The victims will be rescued however by Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Dr. Milby (Sam Milby), a foreign doctor who’s in the country for an outreach program. The latter will be impressed by Isabel’s courage that he’ll ask her out for a date.

Toda Max Stars Thank Supporters, Best 2012 Episodes Air December 29

ABS-CBN’s sitcom “Toda Max” heard its viewers’ clamor and will re-air the funniest episodes of 2012 on the last Saturday of the year (December 29).

“Many things happened this year and we are very thankful; the well appreciated return of the sitcom, the two Best Comedy awards received by the show and the memorable celebration of our first anniversary,” said Vhong Navarro, one of the sitcom’s lead actors.

To show gratitude for these milestones, “Toda Max” airs their most unforgettable episodes that tickled the funny bones of thousands of Filipinos. “We wouldn’t have reached this far without our supporters. May we all have a prosperous and fun new year ahead!” said Angel Locsin.

The sitcom recently won two Best Comedy Show awards from the Catholic Mass Media Awards and PMPC Star Awards for TV while its actors Robin Padilla and Pokwang won the Best Comedy Actor and Best Comedy Actress awards from the PMPC respectively.

On “Toda Max” this Saturday, Lady G (Pokwang), Tol (Robin), Isabel (Angel), Justin (Vhong) and the residents of Beverly Gil’s St. will group together to reminisce memories that made them laugh and cry.

Ella Cruz in Toda Max this December 22, Pokwang Hangs Peso Bills in Christmas Tree

Teen mermaid Ella Cruz will be guesting this Saturday in “Toda Max” this Saturday (December 22). In the sitcom, Ella will be playing Betty, an ugly duckling-turned-beautiful swan that will capture Jonas' heart (Paul Salas).

Meanwhile, peso bills are hung on Pokwang’s Christmas tree in “Toda Max” where she plays as the rich widower Lady G. Her role in the sitcom is proud and brash and always wants to have the spotlight on her. According to the comedienne, “I wish to have this much money in real life not to have as a Christmas décor but rather to help those who are in need,” said Pokwang.

Unlike Lady G, Justin Bibbo (Vhong Navarro) is much more compassionate and this will be seen this Saturday (December 22) on “Toda Max” when he decides to use his savings not to build a glittering Christmas tree to compete with Lady G but to use it to help a calamity-stricken barangay. “We believe that the essence of Christmas is giving and this is what we want to show in Toda Max”, Vhong said.

Psy December 20 Manila Concert Postponed, Moved to February 2013

Korean superstar Psy's Manila concert on Thursday, December 20 titled "The Gangnam Show" has been postponed, Joed Serrano of That's Ntertainment and Renen De Guia of Ovation Productions confirmed.

In an statement released to the media, the producers cited "logistical reasons" as the reason of the show being postponed. The new concert date will be on February 20, 2013.

"The organizers of the ‘Gangnam Style’ event on December 20, 2012 at MOA Arena have collectively agreed to postpone the event to February 20, 2013 due to logistical issues. Psy remains extremely excited about visiting the Philippines and looks forward to performing for his fans in early 2013."

Psy, himself also confirmed the news via his official twitter account, sharing a newslink from ABS-CBNnews.com.

The Psy Gangnam Style concert in Manila whic will benefit the typhoon Pablo victims and Ciara Marie Foundation was supposed to have several Filipino comedians/celebrities as guests including Anne Curtis, "Comedy Queen" Ai Ai delas Alas, Vhong Navarro, Pokwang, Chokoleit, Pooh, K Brosas, comedy duo Wally and Jose, and Nora Aunor impersonator Ate Gay.
