Daniel and Robin Padilla in 'Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak' (Kuratong Baleleng) Trailer

Star Cinema has released online the trailer of upcoming movie Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak (Kuratong Baleleng) which will co-star Robin Padilla with nephew Daniel Padilla.

Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, at mga Anak is produced by RCP Productions (with Star Cinema) and also stars members of the Padilla clan including Bela, Kylie, Matt, RJ and Robin's wife, Mariel Rodriguez. Inspired by the organized crime syndicate Kuratong Baleleng, the film is shortlisted for the 2013 MMFF but failed to make the final cut.

Directed by Jon Villarin, Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, at mga Anak is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on January 29. Watch the trailer below.

Robin Padilla Opposes Proposed Lifetime Tax Exemption for Manny Pacquiao

Actor Robin Padilla calls the proposed bill that would give People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao a lifetime tax exemption as unjust in “Tapatan Ni Tunying” this Thursday (January 9).

“If he gets a tax exemption, I’ll complain. Probably you and many people, mostly the poor ones, will protest too,” Robin says.

Robin is referring to Velenzuela Rep. Magtanggol Gunigundo’s proposed tax exemption bill for Pacquiao for making Filipinos proud in the field of boxing, following his controversial P2.2 billion tax evasion case. The actor also said that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) would not have filed a case against him without basis.

“The BIR would have not sued our ‘Pambansang Kamao,’ our hero, for no reason. With that, Manny has the right to defend himself, but he must never have a tax exemption,” he explains.

Moreover, Robin encourages Filipinos to pay their taxes. Robin says that he fully recognized the importance of settling tax debts after being freed from prison in 1998.

“When I got out from the Bilibid, the Lord blessed me with the right persons to be with, who taught me to prioritize my taxes,” he shares.

Aside from expressing his bold political views, the action star also opens up about his 30-year career in showbiz, as well as his life as a son, a husband, and a father of six.

MMFF 2013 Awards Night – List of Winners

The 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2013) Awards Night (Gabi ng Parangal) happened December 27 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City. The event was hosted by Kris Aquino and KC Concepcion.

The movie 10,000 Hours starring Robin Padilla emerged as the biggest winner of this year's MMFF with a total of 14 awards across categories, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Robin Padilla and Best Director for Bb. Joyce Bernal. Maricel Soriano won Best Actress for Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy while Pen Medina and Aiza Seguerra bagged the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress awards, respectively.

MMFF 2013 Awards Night: Vice Ganda, KC Concepcion Favored to Win Best Actor and Actress

The 39th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal (MMFF 2013 awards night) will happen Friday, December 27 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City. Eight films will be vying for the coveted awards.

KC Concepcion was among the favorites to win the Best Actress trophy for her daring role as a femme fatale in Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story requiring her to do action and sexy scenes.

KC will be in a tight battle against Diamond star Maricel Soriano as the mother of a quadruplets with different genders in Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy and Eugene Domingo as the twins Kimmy and Dora in the prequel of the successful Kimmy Dora series.

Aside from these three, Aiza Seguerra of My Little Bossings and Kathryn Bernardo of Pagpag are also considered for the award.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda's exemplary performance as a girl, boy, gay and lesbian in the movie Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy made him a strong contender for the Best Actor award. Vice will be up against Gov. ER Ejercito of Boy Golden, Robin Padilla of 10,000 Hours and Rocco Nacino of Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir.

Vic Sotto of My Little Bossings and Sef Cadayona of Kaleidoscope World could also do well and score an upset over the favorite Best Actor contenders above.

The MMFF Awards night is a huge factor in boosting ticket sales for movies announced as winners, especially the Best Picture. However, this is not usually the case as viewers tend to watch the movie which they feel will give them great comfort.

Daniel and Robin's Nescafe TVC focused on the lessons in life Daniel learned from his Tito Robin just like the resiliency of the Filipino. Despite several challenges and adversities, we managed to get over it all because our strength, faith and inspiration always come on top.

Joey and Keempee de Leon Visits 'Toda Max' this March 9

Keempee de Leon will be a charming homosexual in “Toda Max” this Saturday (March 9) while the look-alike of his father, Joey de Leon, will also join in the fun.

Keempee has played a lot of homosexual roles before but according to him, most of these only landed to him by chance. “I’m not very picky with work. Whatever is given to me, I’ll do it if I can. If these roles make the viewers happy, why not do it?” he said.

He will be joined by the look-alike of his father who won in the “Kaloka-like” segment of It’s Showtime.

In the episode entitled “Dis Gay’s in Lab With You Justin”, a smart and witty gay called Wella (Keempee) will arrive in Beverly Gil’s to temporarily drive Tol’s (Robin Padilla) tricycle so that Justin (Vhong Navarro) will have extra income to pay for his debt to Lady G (Pokwang). Because Wella is superb in handling several small businesses all at the same time, Justin will ask help from him in managing his restaurant. The two will be inseparable, causing Justin to lose time for his girlfriend Isabel (Angel Locsin).

Idol of the Masses Robin Padilla is set to lead the group of ABS-CBN stars who will travel to Baguio City this weekend for the much awaited Panagbenga Floral Float Parade on Sunday (February 24) at 7AM.

Robin Padilla: Mariel will never be an obstacle in me doing love scenes

Robin Padilla finally broke his silence about the recent controversy involving his wife Mariel Rodriguez, who reportedly left their house after a heated argument about the actor’s controversial love scenes with Kris Aquino in ABS-CBN’s hit primetime drama series “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.”

In an exclusive interview of “The Buzz” aired last Sunday (February 10), Robin admitted that Mariel was deeply affected by the scenes in the TV series. However, Robin was firm in saying that Mariel has nothing to be jealous about with his relationship with Kris. “We know our limits. At our age, we won’t get into something complicated. We’re happy as friends,” said Robin.

Robin also confirmed that her intimate scenes with Kris had caused a conflict so serious that Mariel actually gave him back their wedding ring and left their house. However, Robin clarified that Mariel was gone from their house only for hours. “Kris immediately called her up during the time she left the house. That’s why I was so happy when Kris told me that she’s going back home,” said Robin.

Despite the recent happenings, Robin denied that he will limit himself from doing love scenes in his future TV and movie projects. “Why will it be prohibited? It’s part of the job. And Mariel will never be an obstacle in my work,” he said, “I just did what a husband would do to win back his wife. But it doesn’t mean that I’ll be a coward for my wife. She has to understand my point.”

Veteran comedian Joey Marquez returns to “Toda Max” for a string of guestings this January and February.

He will portray as Daniel, Lady G’s (Pokwang) one true love. He first appeared in “Toda Max” early 2012 where he competed with Tol (Binoe) for Lady G’s attention. This time, he will do the contrary by helping Lady G and Justin (Vhong) gain back lost sales because of the newly passed Sin Tax Bill.

This Saturday (January 19), Daniel will try all sorts of gimmicks to make people return to their vices including the plan to turn Justin’s restaurant into a night club and a gambling hub.

Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw is a tale of two sisters Ruth (Anne) and Roxanne (Kris) who both fell in love with one man, Bogs (Robin). Also starring Tirso Cuz III, Ian Veneracion, Smokey Manaloto, Emilio Garcia, Lito Pimentel, Xyriel Manabat, and Daniel Padilla who will portray the role of the young Robin, Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw premieres this January on ABS-CBN primetime bida.

Robin Padilla is shirtless on the cover of Men's Health Philippines January 2013 issue. Binoe has maintained his good looks and fit body evident on the cover of the said magazine.

Robin Padilla, who will star with Kris Aquino and Anne Curtis in the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw is quoted on the cover saying "Walang taong naging matagumpay na hindi nya tinanggap 'yung nasa harap nya."
