Melason, Kiray and Japoy Dancesport Challenge in 'I Dare You'

The pressure is high for newlyweds Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco to step up as their dancesport challenge continues this Saturday (Dec 14) episode in“I Dare You.” 

Last week’s episode saw Melai and Jason repeatedly stumbling on dance routines, and Jason criticized by celebrity dance expert Maribeth Bichara for his lack of focus and determination when he took the basic steps test with Melai. This resulted in his failure and the whole group, also composed of Japoy Lizardo, Kiray Celis, and their partners, in the challenge that would have given all of Melinda Adora’s Step Kids pairs of dancing shoes. 

To inspire Jason, he, along with Melai went to visit his grandmother in Mindoro whose medical bills will be covered by the program if they succeed in a real-life dancesport competition. Will Jason be able to find the heart to take the challenge seriously? Will he, Melai, Japoy, and Kiray win the dance studio for the Step Kids, the birthday party for Japoy’s partner, and the college scholarship for Kiray’s partner?

Melai and Jason Face Tough Challenge Before Wedding

Before Melai Cantiveros walks down the aisle to tie the knot with her real-life sweetheart Jason Francisco, the comic couple is bound to face a challenge that will test their relationship in “I Dare You” this Saturday (Dec 7) on ABS-CBN. 

Melai and Jason will undergo a strenuous one-month training to learn traditional Latin dances under the guidance of multi-awarded dancesport coach Belinda Adora. If the couple wins in a real-life dancesport competition, the reality show will fund the construction of a dance studio for Belinda Adoro’s Step Kids, a group of underprivileged children sponsored and trained by Belinda. 

Despite the gravity of what’s at stake, the two cast off the pressure and mess around during training. Will they be able to just laugh through the difficult dance routines to achieve their goal? 

Also joining Melason in the challenge are actress Kiray Celis and taekwondo superstar Japoy Lizardo, who will compete with dancers from Step Kids. Japoy’s challenge is to break away from his taekwondo techniques and adopt graceful dance moves, while Kiray’s is to boost the self-confidence of her partner who is suffering from inferiority complex. If they win first place in their respective competitions, Japoy’s partner will be rewarded with a grand 18th birthday party, while Kiray’s will get a scholarship and a livelihood package.

Julia Barretto Confronts Wicked Aunt in Wansapanataym

Wansapanataym Presents Petrang Paminta starring Julia Barretto, Zaijian Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat instantly captured the hearts of TV viewers as its first episode ruled its timeslot last Saturday (June 29). 

Based on the data from Kantar Media, the special’s pilot episode garnered 31.6% national TV ratings, compared to the 17.5% episode of its rival program in GMA “Vampire Ang Daddy Ko.” 

In the next episode of the TV remake of Pablo Gomez’ novel this Saturday (July 6), sisters Petra (Julia) and Aya (Xryiel) continues to suffer after their wicked aunt took their pepper farm and all their father’s wealth away from them. The boys of the “LUV U” gang head out for an event-filled boys-day-out while the girls, Camille (Miles Ocampo), April (Angeli Gonzalez) and Whitney (Kiray Celis) are away. 

JB (Marco Gumabao), Boom (CJ Navato) and Rocky (Igi Boy Flores) decide to troop to Ayala TechnoHub for an exclusive all-boys’ bonding. However, Rocky decides to invite Mariana (Ella Cruz) to hang out with them, without JB or Boom knowing. 

To add to that, Rocky also invites Aly (Lisa Soberano) and Pia (Trina Legazpi) so that Mariana would not feel OP. Why did Rocky invite Mariana? Does he have feelings for her? If he does, how would Mariana react?

'LUV U' JS Prom Episode Airs February 10; David Pomeranz Performs 'King and Queen of Hearts'

The cast of “LUV U” can’t contain their excitement as the teen comedy series stages a Junior-Senior Prom this Sunday (February 10). 

“I really felt the the spirit of Valentine’s Day because of our romantic scenes in LUV U. The prom also felt so real because of Mr. David’s rendition of King and Queen of Hearts,” said Kiray. Angeli seconded this by saying that they have prepared mentally and physically for it. “It’s not something we tape everyday so we really prepared for it and enjoyed it as if it’s a real prom,” she said. 

On their prom episode this Sunday, the lovers JB (Marco) and Camille (Miles), Boom (CJ) and (April) are geared up for the most romantic event of this month but their friend Rocky (Igi) is having problems because Whitney (Kiray) left him for another guy. He also asked Paris (Tippy) to be his date but the latter picked Max instead.

'LUV U' JS Prom Episode Marks 1st Anniversary Celebration (February 3)

Teen comedy series “LUV U” celebrates its first anniversary this February and according to one of its lead stars Miles Ocampo, she didn’t expect such warm acceptance from the viewers.

“I had my doubts at first because everything was new; from the concept to our love teams,” she said.

Majority of the main cast came from the kiddie gag show “Goin’ Bulilit” but according to them, the transition wasn’t that hard. “After I graduated from Goin Bulilit, LUV U was my next major show,” said Miles. “I adjusted well because in Goin Bulilit, we were kids portraying as adults but in LUV U, we act as ourselves,” she said.

Marco Gumabao, Miles’ partner in LUV U, is the only newcomer in show business.

“It’s really fun to think that a year has already passed and my bond with Miles is still going strong. We even landed roles as a couple in the teleserye Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw. I’m really thankful to this show because it hones our acting skills,” he said.

According to the cast, they have a lot of ‘kilig moments’ in store for their viewers as another year unwraps. During their romantic anniversary celebration, they will have American composer and singer David Pomeranz as guest. “He’ll sing during our JS Prom in LUV U, so don’t miss it,” said Kiray Celis.

This Sunday (February 3), Principal Spencer (Smokey Manaloto) will announce the JS Prom which will make everyone excited. Igi Boy Flores Paired with Tippy Dos Santos after being Ditched by Kiray Celis

Igi Boy Flores will be paired off with Tippy Dos Santos this Sunday (January 20) in the teen comedy series “LUV U”.

When asked what the “Goin’ Buliit” graduate feels about the love-team swap, Igi Boy admitted that he’s enjoying the change. “It was always me and Kiray doing riotous scenes so when I was paired with Tippy for the first time, everything felt different in a good way. We don’t fight or tease each other; our scenes are mostly about having fun,” he said.

Does he admire Tippy? Igi Boy answered instantly, “Yes I admire her attitude, her impressive acting skills and of course, her beauty.”

On “LUV U” this Sunday, Rocky (Igi) and Paris (Tippy) will find themselves liking each other’s company after they were ditched by the loves of their lives, Whitney (Kiray) and Max (Rhap Salazar).

'LUV U' 2013: Miles-Marco Out, Marco-Karen In?

Miles Ocampo, one of the lead stars of the teen comedy series, said that there are a lot to watch out for in “LUV U” for 2013 such as the possibility of new team-ups.

When asked if there will be brand new love teams, she said that viewers should just watch out for it. “All I know is that it will be more exciting and nakakakilig,” she said. As of now, she and her on-screen partner Marco Gumabao have been facing difficulties in their relationship in the story and it seems like the latter is falling for a new character played by Karen Reyes.

The same thing is happening for the characters of Kiray Celis and Igi Boy Flores. Kiray said that there might be additions in characters in the coming year, but again it’s not definite. “Viewers should see if the love teams will be retained or not,” she added.

In the year-ender episode of “LUV U” this Sunday (December 30), former lovers Camille (Miles) and JB (Marco) will decide to just remain friends for the moment while lovers Whitney (Kiray) and Rocky (Igi) will discover something that will put their relationship to a test.

Karen Reyes’ frequent team-up with Marco Gumabao in the teen comedy series “LUV U” has sparked rumors that she will now replace Marco’s original on-screen partner, Miles Ocampo.

Miles didn’t seem to be affected by the rumors though when she said that viewers should just watch out for the coming episodes. “In the series, my relationship with Marco is on-the-rocks. Find out on LUV U if we’re getting back together or not,” she said.

When asked if she feels worried about the idea of being paired up with others, she confessed that she does worry a bit. “We’re really close and I already feel very comfortable working with him,” she said.

LUV U Wins Best Youth Oriented Show in Star Awards, Cast Leaves for a Vacation Getaway

Laughter and teen romance in “LUV U” won as it brought home the Best Youth Oriented Show Award from the recently held PMPC Star Awards for TV where the whole cast was present.

“We really feel overwhelmed to win the award. We love what we’re doing and we’re all glad that we inspire and entertain so many viewers,” said Miles Ocampo, one of the lead stars of the teen comedy show.

Kiray Celis on the other hand wished that more people would feel the love they show in the series. “For all the lovers, friends and families out there, just continue spreading the ‘LUV’ by continually supporting LUV U!”

Because of her fine portrayal in the episode, the pretty actress was asked if she has experienced the same dilemma.

“It’s not my personality to wreck relationships. I believe there are a lot of guys out there and I don’t need to steal someone’s boyfriend,” said Karen.

LUV U Nominated as Best Youth Oriented Show in 26th PMPC Star Awards for TV

Other ABS-CBN teen shows that will vie for the award are “Good Vibes” starred by Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil and Coleen Garcia and “Growing Up” starred by Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes and Daniel Padilla.

Aside from Miles, the show is composed of Angeli Gonzales, Kiray Celis, CJ Navato, Igi Boy Flores, Marco Gumabao, Smokey Manaloto, Joy Viado and many more.

Meanwhile on “LUV U” this Sunday (November 11), a new student, Ayen (Karen Reyes) will be used by Honey’s (Arie) group to separate the lovers JB (Marco) and Camille (Miles). Because of Honey’s plan, JB and Ayen will be locked inside a stock room.
