Amorosa Grosses P11.74 Million on First Week, I Do Bidoo Didoo Rakes in P5.81 Million

Amorosa: The Revenge had grossed P11.74 million on its first week of showing in theaters according to third party tabulator Box Office Mojo (BOM). The Skylight Films' psycho-horror-drama which stars Angel Aquino, Enrique Gil, Martin del Rosario and Empress was shown in 55 theaters.

Meanwhile, opening the same day as Amorosa was the musical movie I Do Bidoo Bidoo starring Eugene Domingo, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos. The Chris Martinez-helmed movie grossed P5.81 million on its first week of showing in 90 theaters nationwide.

The Reunion Grosses P55.57 Million in Two Weeks, Just One Summer Flops at the Box Office

Star Cinema's barkada movie The Reunion starring Xian Lim, Kean Cipriano, Enchong Dee and Enrique Gil had already grossed P55.57 million after 2 weeks of showing in theaters according to third party tabulator Box Office Mojo (BOM). The said movie had an opening gross of P10 million according to Star Cinema.

The Reunion added about P24 million to its first week gross of P31.21 million to maintain its 3rd place position on the box office tally for the period of August 22-26, which was dominated by Colin Farrell's Total Recall. It was also last week when The Healing breached the P100 million mark.

Meanwhile, JuliElmo's launching movie, Just One Summer, grossed P6.16 million on its first week run and has been pulled out in theaters. The box office results of the two movies was in contrast to the results of our poll wherein  Just One Summer won over The Reunion by mile.

Cinemalaya movie Mga Mumunting Lihim grossed P0.77 million on its first week of showing. Here are the top 10 movies in the Philippines for the period August 22-26 according to BOM.

The Reunion Grosses P10 Million on First Day - Star Cinema

The ultimate barkada movie of the year The Reunion has grossed P10 million on its first day according to movie outfit Star Cinema. The said movie premiered on Wednesday, August 15.

The Reunion  had its successful premiere night last August 14 at the SM Megamall Cinema 4 and despite heavy rains, fans flocked to watch the premiere of the said movie from Star Cinema.

Topbilled by Kapamilya actors Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil and Kean Cipriano, this coming-of-age  flick tells the story of a group of friends who find themselves at a crossroads in their professional and personal lives, seven years after graduating from high school.

Paying homage to the music of legendary band Eraserheads, The Reunion also stars Julia Montes, Bangs Garcia, Megan Young, Jessy Mendiola and Matt Evans. It is directed by Frasco Santos Mortiz.

“The movie will present the journey of a high school barkada who reunited after so many years to trace back their lives and search for the things that went wrong and the people that they’ve hurt in order to change their future,” said Direk Frasco.

Meanwhile, lead stars Xian and Enrique shared that the whole cast are so thrilled to finally watch their film which is said to be inspired by the hit songs of the legendary 90′s Pinoy rock band, Eraserheads.

Xian, on the other hand, further shared how excited they are to hear what their fans had to say about their film. He said, “I really hope that a lot of people will get entertained with our movie. It has a great cast and an equally great director.”
