Honesto Scores Newest All-Time High National TV Rating on Last 3 Weeks

ABS-CBN’s number one primetime drama series “Honesto” continues to inspire TV viewers to lead a life of honesty in its last weeks, as the teleserye topbilled by Paulo Avelino, Raikko Mateo, and Cristine Reyes reached its newest all-time high TV rating.

Based on the data from Kantar Media last Monday (February 24), “Honesto” scored its newest all-time high national TV rating of 35.6%, or more than double its rival program, GMA’s “Adarna,” which only got 17.1%. The show conquered social networking sites such as Twitter, where the hashtag #HonestosLastFifteenNights became one of the worldwide trending topics.

Since it started airing in October 2013, “Honesto” has won the hearts of Filipinos with its realistic and timely story on honesty, sincerity, and kindness.

Aside from its inspiring and heartfelt story, “Honesto” has also showcased ABS-CBN’s newest child wonder Raikko who has made a mark on the hearts of viewers, as well as the love team of “Honesto’s” lead characters Diego and Marie, portrayed by Paulo and Cristine, respectively.

How far will Diego, Marie, and Honesto (Raikko) go to stand up for the truth? Will they be able to erase the anger and selfishness in Hugo’s (Joel Torre) heart and finally fix their broken family?

Paul Jake and Melissa Ricks Break up Confirmed

Former PBB housemate Paul Jake Castillo and actress Melissa Ricks have already called it quits after a year of being together. Paul Jake has confirmed the reports about the break up on The Buzz, Sunday.

Prior to Paul Jake's admission, rumors about their break up surfaced because of the controversial Instagram posts of Melissa Ricks. The former, however revealed in the interview that they separated in a good way.

"Yes, we are perfectly fine. Yes, we are friends. There’s no bad breakup, no bad blood," Paul Jake said.

Melissa and Paul Jake became a couple in 2012. In her Kris TV interview early this year, Melissa turned emotional as she shared her happiness to finally found real love with Paul Jake.

"Siyempre when I go into a relationship, I want it to last talaga. Hindi naman ako yung type na I will entertain someone just for the sake of entertaining them 'ay gusto kong magpaligaw, ay gusto kong maraming nanliligaw sa akin.' (Gusto ko yung pagmatagalan), hindi pangsandalian lang. After all that I'd been through, sobrang hulog ng langit (si Paul)," said Melissa on the interview.

Meanwhile, Paul Jake would rather concentrate on his businesses rather than finding someone new after the break up. "Siguro wala muna," he said when asked if he is looking for a new love. "I’d rather concentrate on something else, business particularly."

Melissa Ricks, who is currently on vacation, is still mum on the break up. Many netizens shared their sentiments about the separation, telling Melissa, kidding aside that she should stay away from guys named 'Jake.'

Before Melissa and Paul Jake became sweethearts, the actress has had a failed relationship with actor Jake Cuenca.

Walang Hanggan Finale Creates a New Record, Beats Mara Clara's 43.4%

ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” topbilled by Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin, recently ended on a high note as its finale soared high in the ratings game and dominated the worldwide trending topics on Twitter.

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media last Friday (October 26), ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series garnered 45.4% national TV ratings, or more than 29 points ahead versus the farewell episode of its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.1%.

“Walang Hanggan” also beat the record-breaking finale episode of Mara Clara in June 2011 which got a TV rating of 43.4% nationwide, the highest finale rating ever attained of a teleserye in the new decade before “Walang Hanggan.”

Aside from winning the ratings game, “Walang Hanggan” also conquered the popular microblogging site Twitter as hashtags #WalangHangganFinale, Katerina, Paulo Avelino, and RIP Daniel became worldwide trending topics due to the numerous tweets of TV viewers about the touching scenes of Daniel (Coco) and Katerina’s (Julia) deaths. The Twitter timeline was flooded with positive tweets like: “@LoveAprille: Congrats to the cast and crew for the #WalangHangganFinale! We stayed up in Sydney just to watch it! You all did an amazing job;” “@JelaiSalomeo: It was my first time to witness a happily ever after. It wasn’t good. It was brilliant! #WalangHangganFinale;” and “@axlguillermo: Sobrang ganda talaga ng ending ng #WalangHangganFinale. Talagang pinaghandaan nila. Congratulations sa lahat ng cast at crew. Mahusay!”

Completing the powerhouse cast of “Walang Hanggan” are top-caliber actors including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes. It was under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Trina Dayrit.

The timeslot left by “Walang Hanggan” was taken oven by “Ina Kapatid Anak,” which now airs after “Princess and I.”

Sandara Park Joins Twitter, Gets @krungy21 as Twitter Handle

Sandara Park, now known as Dara of the popular K-POP girl group 2NE1 has recently joined Twitter. Dara created a Twitter account with the handle @krungy21 last September 17 and as of this posting, she had already more than 100, 000 followers.

Sandara's Twitter handle handle is based on the term "krung krung," which was used to describe her unpredictable personality during her stay in Philippine showbiz. It can be recalled that Dara was dubbed as the "Pambanang Krung Krung ng Pilipinas" which she also used to describe herself on twitter after the "2NE1's fresh vocalist" written in Korean.

She had quite a number of TV and film projects, after SCQ including Bcuz Of U (2004) and Can This Be Love (2005) with Hero Angeles (2004) and D' Lucky Ones in 2006 with Pokwang, Eugene Domingo and Joseph Bitangcol.

She also had an album bannered by her hit songs In or Out, Walang Sabit and Ang Ganda Ko.

Sandara went back to Korea in 2007 to pursue a showbiz career there and later debuted with three other girls as a member of 2NE1 under YG Entertainment, the management company of K-POP boy group, Big Bang.

On Twitter, Dara had mentioned co-stars Pokwang and Luis Manzano (Crazy For You) and friend from SCQ, Melissa Ricks.

Walang Hanggan star Melissa Ricks appears on the cover of FHM Philippines for the first time!

The magazine described Melissa's men's magazine cover debut as going full circle when it comes to sexiness and maturity. Being a Star Magic artist and alumna of Star Circle Quest, this 22-year-old stunner is really something beyond beauty and talent.

Melissa's cover shoot for FHM was set in Hong Kong and according to the magazine, the original plan was "for Melissa to walk the heavily pedestrian-ed Tsim Sha Tsui district with just a skirt and a bra on" though the team didn’t have the necessary permits for that Diana Zubiri-like feat. 

According to Melissa, she would probably do the thing if she was asked to do it. 

"If you made me do that in the street, I probably would do it pero sobrang bilis! Kasi there’s so many people passing, and we’re in a different country.”

Walang Hanggan Controversial Stabbing Scene Wins TV Ratings

The controversial bloody fight scene between the characters of Coco Martin and Paulo Avelino in the phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan” was the most watched program in the country last Wednesday (August 15). 

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media, the said episode where Nathan (Paulo) stabbed himself after a heated fistfight with half-brother Daniel (Coco) garnered a 37.8% national TV rating compared to its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.7%. 

“Walang Hanggan” is set to glue primetime viewers even more with the most-anticipated wedding of Emily (Dawn Zulueta) and Marco (Richard Gomez).

Dawn Zulueta Refuses to Do Kissing Scenes with Richard Gomez

Actress Dawn Zulueta recently revealed that she refused to do kissing scenes with onscreen partner Richard Gomez in the phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” as a sign of respect to her husband, Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo Jr.

According to Dawn, eventhough her husband does not forbid her, it is her initiative not to do the intimate scenes. “I want to consider Anton’s feelings. It’s bad enough that everyone is clamoring to have two ex-es together and I feel that it’s disrespectful to my husband if I still do the kissing scenes.”

ABS-CBN Ulan 2012 Station ID Teaser - Walang Hanggan Cast

ABS-CBN has released another teaser for their 'Ulan' 2012 station ID. The first teaser features the returning love team of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo while this second teaser had primetime numero uno cast.

In the second teaser are Walang Hanggan stars Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Julia Montes and Paulo Avelino which are found enjoying a fishing day.

The video caption reads:

Walang Hanggan Sequel in the Works?

With the huge success of Walang Hanggan on primetime television, a sequel for this number one program is said to be in the works. A "book 2" is said to be in the planning stage according to Leyte 4th District Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez.

In a recent interview during the launch of a cosmetics line, Lucy (who is the wife of actor Richard Gomez playing the role of Marco in Walang Hanggan, one of the series' leads) said that she heard talks about the top-rated series' sequel.

“They’re going to have a book two, I hear. And it’s just nice how the people have embraced the whole cast and how they’ve welcomed ‘Walang Hanggan’ as part of their nightly viewing habit,” said Lucy who is a fan of the Richard-Dawn tandem in Walang Hanggan.

“ABS-CBN never does anything half-baked, so they’ve always been known for their wonderful teleseryes. They’ve always been known to market it in such a big way,” she added.

A well-anticipated return is also set for JM De Guzman and Charee Pineda's Angelito: Batang Ama which will be back with a much more mature Angelito: Bagong Yugto.

If Walang Hanggan will indeed have a sequel, we hope that the story will get more exciting. Sequels on television are deemed less successful than their respective first books and with Walang Hanggan being extended until August (some reports say that it will be airing until October), viewers might get tired of watching the same faces all over again.

The key will be a great storyline and a new mix of characters that will sustain the program's interesting plot enough to get us all hooked again.

Walang Hanggan Extended Until August!

Undoubtedly, ABS-CBN's Walang Hanggan is the most-watched teleserye on television today. Not only it claims leadership in Mega Manila, it also dominates nationwide TV ratings.

Since its airing January this year, Walang Hanggan is consistently on top of the ratings game. It is also one of those teleseryes which always makes trending topics on Twitter.

With a powerhouse cast, commendable plot and excellent role portrayals that even a small role is a talk-of-the-town (e.g. James Ocampo), Walang Hanggan's magic continues to excite viewers all over the world.

There is no question that ABS-CBN will be extending this series. In fact, some good news welcome the whole Walang Hanggan cast this Easter as the producers are thinking of an extension for the top-rating show. With its glorious performance, Walang Hanggan might be extended until August this year.

After her controversial and much talk-about break-up with Jake Cuenca early 2011, Melissa has now found a new love in Paul Jake's persona. (It seems that Melissa likes to be with guys named Jake).

According to Paul Jake Castillo, he's been dating Melissa Ricks since late January and that she was his date last Valentine's Day. The two are introduced to each other through their common friend and also a PBB alumna, Beauty Gonzales.

'Walang Hanggan' Still Unbeatable in TV Ratings

ABS-CBN Primetime Bida drama series “Walang Hanggan” remained unbeatable as it won in the national TV ratings based on Kantar Media.

The teleserye topbilled by Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin garnered a 26.7% national TV rating, compared to its newest rival program from GMA, “My Beloved” which only got 22.2%.
