Anne curtis Starts Shooting Movie with Derek Ramsay and KC Concepcion

Posted on July 4, 2012 | 7:02 PM

Anne Curtis has started shooting for her upcoming movie with Derek Ramsay and KC Concepcion titled Nothing Compares To You under Viva Films.

Anne said in an interview with ABS-CBN news that she prepared a lot for the film because she wanted to create a distinction between her character in this film and her blockbuster movie No Other Woman which also starred Derek.

Anne also revealed that Nothing Compares is a movie that a woman of her age can relate to unlike in No Other Woman which something a married woman can comprehend better.
"Parang frenemies ang concept, very very light and charming. Maganda 'yung storya kasi for me if No Other Woman was something married women can relate to, this is something women our age can relate to.”
Aside from Derek and KC. Anne Curtis will also be working with Jaclyn Jose, who will be playing Anne's mother in the movie. Jaclyn Jose had already worked with Anne in several projects like the series Dyosa.

Jaclyn Jose revealed a little about her upcoming role.
“Mommy ako ni Anne, para silang magkaibigan. Ang conflict sa akin, asawa ko si Mark Gil, mayroon siyang ibang pamilya. Hindi ko pa alam kung paano ie-execute pero simple lang iyon.”

Derek Ramsay Finally Confirms Break Up with Angelica Panganiban

Posted on May 14, 2012 | 10:40 PM

Actor Derek Ramsay finally admitted that he and Angelica Panganiban were no longer together. The said break up was announced by Derek on his Twitter account, Monday, May 14.

Derek Ramsay Confirms Break Up with Angelica Panganiban
Derek Ramsay confirms break up with Angelica Panganiban via Twitter
Derek tweeted:

“Guys we truly appreciate all ur concerns. Even though angel and I are no longer together we still have the utmost respect for one another.”

However, Derek noted that he regretted ending his 6-year relationship with Angelica. He also said that there's no wasted time since they enjoyed every minute they had together.

"I'm not proud of the breakup! How I wish things were different. I can't be selfish and consider only my feelings."

Prior to this confirmation, Derek confessed that their relationship was in the rocks and he and Angelica were in a 'cool-off' stage. Now that they parted ways, Derek said he's still supportive of Angelica. He even promoted Angel's new movie, Every Breath You Take which is showing on May 16.

Rumors pointed third party as the reason for the break up. There were reports linking Angelica Panganiban to John Lloyd Cruz while Derek Ramsay was also being linked to Sam Pinto.

Today, after confirming that they had called it quits, Derek was quick to say that there was no third party involved saying that people should stop the assumptions and just respect their decision, as much as she respects Angelica. He said, "Walang may kasalanan dito."

Some speculates that the real reason for Derek and Angelica's break up, if not the third party was Derek's decision to transfer to TV5. Angelica, who was in Vietnam when Derek decided to shift networks said that her now ex-boyfriend did not tell her about it. She just knew it in the news although she expressed support to Derek's decision after her return from shooting abroad, saying that if Derek finds happiness in his decision, then she will give her all-out support.

John Lloyd and Shaina Break-up Confirmed, Sources Say

Posted on May 4, 2012 | 11:03 AM

According to reliable sources, showbiz couple John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao had already broken up months ago. The said break up however, was nothing to do with Angelica Panganiban.

Just recently, John Lloyd's name became involved in the issue of Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsay's troubled relationship. Rumors claimed that Angelica and John Lloyd started an affair during their movie shoot in Vietnam. However, Derek was quick to admit that a third party is not the reason why he and Angelica is now in a 'cool-off stage' (read related article here) pointing out that Angelica is not that kind of girl.

John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao had broken up (2012)

Sources did confirm that Angelica is not the reason why John Lloyd and Shaina called it quits. It can be recalled that the two couple faced problems involving John Lloyd's ex-beau, Ruffa Gutierrez and also decided to part ways for sometime so that John Lloyd can find himself. Months after, Lloydie and Shaina are reportedly back in each other's arms.

The recent news about John Lloyd and Shaina break up pointed out John Lloyd's busy schedule and minor problems as the reason. It is said that Shaina demands more time with John Lloyd but the actor can't comply. John Lloyd's family was also not close to Shaina. Sources said that the two decided to end up their relationship in a party at Shaina's house.

So, what can you say about John Lloyd and Shaina's break up? Well, we need these two to speak up so that they can clarify the issue.

Anyway, we wish both John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magadayao the best in love and career.

Derek Ramsay in a 'Cool-Off Stage' with Angelica Panganiban

Posted on May 2, 2012 | 4:36 PM

Actor Derek Ramsay himself confirmed that he and Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban had parted ways for now. Derek revealed to Yahoo! OMG that they were in a cool-off stage right now.

“We are in a cool-off stage. We’re giving each other space.” Derek relayed to Yahoo! OMG over the phone on May 2.

Derek and Angelica never had the chance to talk to each other since Holy Week when Angelica left for Vietnam with John Lloyd Cruz for the shoot of the Star Magic movie while Derek took a vacation in Australia.

Last month, rumors about Derek and Angelica's break-up surfaced after reports of Angelica being linked to John Lloyd and Derek to sexbomb Aifa. This was intensified by Derek not thanking Angelica in his acceptance speech during the 43rd Guillermo Mendoza Box Office Entertainment awards where he was hailed as the Box Office King.

Today, after confirming that they had called it quits for now, Derek was quick to say that there was no third party involved saying that she trusted Angelica completely, being not the type who will fool around. However, Derek did not divulge the real reason why their relationship is on the rocks.

Above all this issue, Derek expressed his intentions to talk to Angelica to iron matters out if their busy schedules permit.

“If things go well, okay. But if not, she will always be my friend,” Derek declares.

If this is really the end of their 6-year relationship, then what a sad news to hear. We hope they can straighten things up and talk about their problems to save their relationship.

Star Cinema Head to Derek Ramsay: "Just tell the truth"

Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos appeals to now Kapatid star Derek Ramsay to tell the truth on the issue that the latter has been the last to know about being replaced in the movie The Mistress with Bea Alonzo.

In an article posted last April 28 on Yahoo! OMG, Derek said that he was hut by Star Cinema's decision since he was the last to know about being replaced by John Lloyd Cruz in the movie with Bea Alonzo.

“Hindi ako naniwala sa mga tao sa paligid ko na wala na nga ako talaga (sa movie). I was the last to know but I had to understand where it’s coming from. (Star Cinema) management believes it’s better for Bea to have a different partner in the movie,” Derek said.

Meanwhile, Ms. Malou Santos of Star Cinema called up Ricky Lo's Funfare to clarify the issue, saying that she respects Derek's decision to switch networks but should just tell the truth and refrain from dropping lies.

Here is the FUNFARE article by Ricky F. Lo posted yesterday, May 1.

Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos called up Funfare yesterday to clarify the item about Derek Ramsay having been “unceremoniously” taken out of The Mistress, replaced by John Lloyd Cruz as the leading man of Bea Alonzo (with Hilda Koronel and Ronaldo Valdez as the other members of the cast).

Malou said that Derek did shoot for the movie for only three days and not seven days as Funfare reported.

Before Derek signed up with the Kapatid Network TV5, Malou admitted that Star Cinema/ABS-CBN did make a counter-offer for both film and TV, without mentioning the talent fee involved. According to the network’s official statement, Derek must have been offered by TV5 an amount “na hindi namin kayang tapatan.” Derek and his manager Joji denied that Derek bit the TV5 offer to the tune of P600 million (too much, too much!?!).

“I spoke to Joji about management’s decision last April 4 at 5 p.m.,” recalled Malou. “The text of Derek came a few minutes after that. It said, ‘Hi, Tita. I heard the sad news na papalitan n’yo po ako sa movie. Thank you, Tita, for the opportunity. Best wishes.’ I texted him back, ‘I hope you understand the decision of management.’ He replied, ‘Yes, I do.’ So it’s not true that we replaced Derek without his being informed about it.”

Citing the case of Aga Muhlach who also moved from Kapamilya to Kapatid, Malou said it was an entirely different story.

“Aga was shooting his Star Cinema movie In The Name Of Love with Angel Locsin when his negotiations with TV5 were going on, but he made the official announcement only when the movie was done and ready to be shown,” explained Malou. “In the case of Derek, nauna ang announcement ng paglipat n’ya sa TV5 before the movie was even finished.”

Malou has one appeal to Derek: “As I wish you luck and I respect your decision (to sign up with another network), just tell the truth. Huwag lang magsalita ng hindi tama at hindi totoo.”

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo Reunited in 'The Mistress' Movie

Posted on April 25, 2012 | 9:29 PM

Seasoned love team John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are set to reunite in a movie entitled The Mistress. The said movie is another Star Cinema offering in celebration of John Lloyd and Bea's 10th year anniversary as a love team.

Bea and John Lloyd interviewed by ABS-CBN about their reunion movie, The Mistress

Both Bea and John Lloyd are excited about this reunion movie. In an interview with TV Patrol's Gretchn Fullido on Wednesday, April 25, Lloydie said that he is looking forward to shooting his reunion movie with Bea because both of them have already grown up as actors.

Bea and John Lloyd's look test for The Mistress
“Sobrang excited ako kung paano magiging batuhan namin ni Bea sa mga eksena kasi iba na si Bea ngayon, iba na rin ako,” John Lloyd told ABS-CBN news.

“Ten years na pala kami no? I'm so excited [and] at the same time challenged. With John Lloyd, you always need to be on your toes. It’s always refreshing to work with John Lloyd,” remarked Bea Alonzo.

Their reunion movie, The Mistress will tackle a controversial theme and they will be playing deep and sensitive roles. The movie is about infidelity and it will surely be a talk-of-the-town just like No Other Woman.

The said movie will be helmed by award-winning director, Olivia M. Lamasan (Milan, In My Life, In The Name of Love).

If I was not mistaken, this is supposed to be the movie which will star Bea Alonzo and Derek Ramsay if not for the decision of Star Cinema to replace Derek who recently transferred to TV5 (read related article here).

Aside from this reunion movie, Bea and John Lloyd will also take part in the star-studded Star Magic 20th anniversary movie. John Lloyd had already shoot some scenes in Vietnam with Angelica Panganiban for this movie.

Fans will also be delighted with Bea and John Lloyd's upcoming teleserye, A Beautiful Affair which will be shot in Vienna, Austria.

Bea nd John Lloyd last worked together in the big screen via Miss You Like Crazy in 2010 and in the teleserye  I Love Betty La Fea way back in 2009.

Star Cinema Replaces Derek as Bea's Leading Man in Movie

Posted on April 24, 2012 | 11:55 AM

ABS-CBN's film outfit, Star Cinema has decided to replace Derek Ramsay as Bea Alonzo's leading lady in an upcoming movie. This was confirmed by Star Ad Prom director, Roxy Liquigan in an interview by PEP.

It seems that Star Cinema is not keen on getting Derek's services after the hunk actor transferred to TV-5 recently. Derek had already worked for five shooting days in the said movie which is directed by award-winning director Olivia Lamasan.

In a recent interview by PEP, Derek said that he is not bitter nor mad upon being replaced in the movie. He said that he was disappointed, what with being into character already and falling in love with the movie but Derek understands.

“Siyempre I was disappointed, I was really into my character already and I really like the story of the movie. But you know, they are professional in this business, they know what’s best."

“When they feel that it’s better for them to replace me then, I respect that.”

As of now, Star Cinema has yet to announce who will replace Derek in the movie with Bea. There are speculations that Sam Milby is being considered again for the role. It can be recalled that the said movie is especially offered for Sam but the latter declined to pursue his Hollywood dream. Sam is said to return in the country next month.

According to Derek, hes fine with the idea of Sam getting again the role originally for the latter. He was just regretful of not having to work with leading lady Bea Alonzo again. Bea and Derek, together with Sam Milby had worked for the movie And I Love You So in 2009.

“It’s fine, I’ll be very happy for Sam. I even told Sam, sayang yung movie na yun kasi napakaganda ng istorya. So, I’ll be happy kung mababalik yun sa kanya. Sam is one of my few friends in the industry, I’ll be very happy if it’s going back to him."

“I also love working with Bea, napaka-professional at napakahusay. So, yun lang sayang dun, I’m not gonna work with Bea [again].”

KC, Anne and Derek to Star in an Adult Drama Movie

Posted on April 21, 2012 | 6:32 PM

Anne Curtis, KC Concepcion and Derek Ramsay will be coming together for a new movie under Viva Films. The said movie which will star 3 of the hottest celebrities today is an adult drama entitled Nothing Compares to You.

In the said movie, Anne and KC will be fighting for the love of a man which will be played by Derek. Since its also a threesome, VIVA Entertainment is quick to clarify that Nothing Compares to You is not a sequel for No Other Woman and KC Concepcion is not a replacement for Cristine Reyes.

KC and Anne has just attended the story conference for the movie which will be helmed by director Nuel Naval (Magkaribal). Derek was unable to attend the story conference due to a series of commitments in Boracay.

KC is now looking forward to working with Anne and Derek in a big project but the pressure is still there since Anne and Derek's first film together made the two Box Office royalties for this year.

Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes were hailed as the Box Office Queens for their blockbuster hit, No Other Woman while Derek Ramsay clinched the Box Office King title at the 43rd Box Office Entertainment Awards given by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation (for the complete list of winners, click here).

- Bong Osorio
Head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications

Derek follows Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Mariel Rodriguez, Willie Revillame and Aga Muhlach in the Kapatid Network (TV5). However, according to reports, Derek Ramsay will maintain his contract with Star Cinema for movies this year and next.

It can be recalled that Derek's movies with Star Cinema are all certified blockbuster hit (No Other Woman, Praybeyt Benjamin).

Despite this network transfer, Derek still joined other Kapamilyas in the Star Magic 20 Tour in Hawaii. This week, Derek is off to Australia for a one-week break.

It is expected that Derek will be the center of media upon his return to the country, asking him about transferring to TV5 and his latest TV projects in the said network.

Do you think Derek made the right decision of leaving ABS-CBN and transferring to TV5?
