Posted on May 18, 2012 | 9:03 AM

At last we now have our American Idol Season 11 Top 2! It's Phillip versus Jessica in the finale of American Idol 2012 (Season 11).

Brace yourselves as Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips battle it out with great performances for the finale on Tuesday, May 22nd and the crowning of the 11th American Idol on Wednesday, May 23rd.

American Idol 2012 Top 2 - Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips
American Idol Season 11 Top 2, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips will battle it out for the Idol Finale, May 22 and 23
Joshua Ledet was eliminated May 17 at the American Idol 2012 Top 3 Results Show, depriving him the chance for a neck-to-neck singing battle at the the Nokia Live Theatre next week and eventually become the next American Idol.

Phillip Phillips who hails from Leesburg, Georgia has been a consistent vote-getter with a clean credentials if we are talking of the bottom 3 spot. Meanwhile, Jessica Sanchez from Chula Vista, California has landed once in the bottom 3 (and the lowest vote-getter that night) and could have been eliminated if not for the precious judges' save.

Both are talented singers and well-loved by fans so it will be difficult to predict between the 2 who will emerge as winner come finale time. The Top 2, Jessica and Phillip both have charisma so it will not only be a battle of voices, a battle of choices but also a battle of voting fans. The one with the most number of fans voting for their favorite Top 2 idol will win.

Who do you think will go for gold and clinch that most-coveted American Idol crown? We are so excited here to see another girl winner in the said competition but thinking of all the odds, a "white guy with a guitar" (WGWG) might again win this whole thing.

Who are you rooting for? Is it Phillip or Jessica? Drop you comments below.

Don't forget to watch the American Idol 2012 Top 2 at the finale next week, May 22 and 23 as another season of American Idol ends and a new Idol is crowned.

Before Joshua made his final vow on the American Idol stage, Idol alumnus and Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert performed his new song, Never Close Our Eyes (from his sophomore album "Trespassing" which dropped May 15) while Lisa Marie Presley sang You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet, her latest single from her new album “Storm & Grace.”

Joshua Ledet is one of the favorites to make it in the finale and his performances last night earned rave reviews from the judges, who again gave Joshua a standing ovation for his performance of Etta James' classic, I'd Rather Go Blind which was picked for him by Randy Jackson. He also tackled John Lennon's Imagine and Mary J. Blige's No More Drama to a great extent.

Watch the announcement of the American Idol 2012 Top 2 below:

Now that we have our American Idol 2012 Top 2 in the person of Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips, it's time to set our minds for the finale on May 22nd and 23rd.

Who will be crowned as the 11th American Idol winner? Well, it's up to America on who they want to win. I'm just hoping that whoever wins this thing, all the eliminated talented contestants will be given their own spots in the music industry.

(Honestly, been hoping for a girl to win this season and now keeping my fingers crossed for Jessica's victory.)

American Idol 2012 Top 3 Performance Videos and Top 2 Prediction

Posted on May 17, 2012 | 12:01 PM

American Idol Season 11 Top 3 performance night on May 16 (May 17 in Manila) saw a great battle of choices for the American Idol 2012 Top 3. The Top 3 idol hopefuls performed three songs each - one of their personal choice, one of the judges' choice and one of Jimmy Iovine's choice.

American Idol 2012 Top 3 - Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet
The American Idol Top 3 first sang what the judges' have chosen for them. Judge Randy Jackson picked I'd Rather Go Blind by Etta James for Joshua Ledet while Jennifer Lopez chose Mariah Carey's My All for Jessica Sanchez. Judge Steven Tyler gave Phillip Phillips Madcon's Beggin' to sing.

Next in line were the idol hopefuls' personal song choice. Joshua Ledet performed Imagine, a big John Lennon hit while Jessica Sanchez tackled Aerosmith's I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing. Phillip Phillips had chosen Disease by Matchbox 20.

For Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine's choice, the songs were No More Drama (Mary J. Blige) for Joshua, I'll Be There (Jackson 5) for Jessica and We've Got Tonight (Bob Seger) for Phillip.

Watch the American Idol Top 3 performances by clicking on the respective names of the idol hopefuls below.

Jimmy Iovine's Choice
Who will go home tomorrow night and who will consist the American Idol 2012 Top 2 to battle it out for the finale next week?

We predict that Phillip Phillips will surely be there in the finale. The guy is the only one that hasn't gone to Ryan Seacrest stools and that says a lot about Phillip's large voting fanbase. Besides, he certainly had the pimp spot from last week until this week's performance.

Who will join Phillip in the Top 2 for the finale? We predict it will be Joshua Ledet. The soul singer had been consistent with great performances and the judges' standing  ovations matter a lot. His fanbase is getting larger and they will probably not let Joshua down.

Personally, I wanted a Phillip-Jessica finale but based on what happened tonight and the judges' comments, Jessica might be thrown out of the bus. The only girl left could have been already voted out if not for the judges save and based on history, no saved contestant ever reach the finale (although Jessica made history for being the saved contestant that had gone the farthest in the competition).

My hopes are still intact for Jessica and who knows, with the voting power of her Filipino, Mexican and American fans, she might grab that other spot in the finale and eventually win this whole thing (my fingers crossed).

Jessica can always obliterate the trend and probably become the first female American Idol after a long female drought in the competition. Last female Idol winner was Jordin Sparks way back in 2007 (Season 6). This will hold true if the producers and the voting audience won't allow another male domination.

American Idol 2012 Top 3 Song Spoilers

Posted on May 16, 2012 | 2:24 PM

American Idol Season 11 Top 3 Performance night is getting near and many wonder what the Top 3 (Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips) will be singing for May 16 performance show. We got here the complete list of songs that will be included in the song list of American Idol Top 3.

American Idol 2012 Top 3 to Perform Song Choices on May 16
American Idol 2012 Top 3 -  Phillip, Jessica and Joshua will perform 3 songs each on May 16
The American Idol 2012 Top 3 will be singing 3 songs - their own choice, the judges' choice and Jimmy Iovine's choice.

According to American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, there will be an interesting line up for the Top 3 performance night. He teased with some interesting song choices for the Top 3. Nigel dropped 3 songs that will be sung by any of Jessica, Joshua or Phillip.

The three songs were Imagine, Beggin' and I'll Be There.

If we are to match the songs with the Idol Top 3, here is what we believe each will be singing:

Joshua Ledet - Beggin'
Jessica Sanchez - I'll Be There
Phillip Phillips - Imagine

That is what we predict based on the characteristic of the song which might fit the singers but it will be really difficult to predict who will be singing what song. Personally, I would love to hear Jessica sing Beggin'  for a change.  Phillip can also do his thing with the song but we think this will be given to Joshua.

Imagine  might be a no-brainer for Joshua so we thought he will be singing something else. However, we can also assume that these 3 songs were only for one idol hopeful or at least 2 of those. Maybe, Beggin' and I'll Be There will be both for Joshua Ledet and Imagine will be for Phillip Phillips. It could also do the same for Jessica Sanchez.

At any rate, these are just 3 songs out of the possible 9 (see list below) songs that we will all be hearing come Top 3 performance night, May 16.

Here is the complete list of songs for the Top 3 performance night:
  • “Imagine” – John Lennon
  • “My All” – Mariah Carey
  • “No More Drama” – Mary J. Blige
  • “We’ve Got Tonight” – Bob Seger
  • “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” – Aerosmith
  • “Beggin’” – Madcon
  • “I’ll Be There” – Jackson 5
  • “Disease” – Matchbox 20
  • “I’d Rather Go Blind” – Etta James
What do you think? Which one your idols will sing?

Posted on May 4, 2012 | 9:03 AM

Skylar Laine got the boot on the Top 5 Elimination (Results Night) of American Idol Season 11 May 3 (May 4 in Manila). Skylar had step up a lot on her performances but America has decided to let go of Skylar on tonight's American Idol 2012 Top 5  results show after garnering the least number of votes.

Before Skylar was sent packing, the American Idol 2012 results show was made more exciting by the performances of Carrie Underwood, which rendered her latest single Blown Away, and British band Coldplay which rocked the house with songs from their Mylo Xyloto album, Paradise and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.

Skylar Laine is out of American Idol Season 11
Skylar was joined in the bottom 2 by Hollie Cavanagh.

Skylar has been on top of the Entertainment Weekly's Idol rankings for 2 consecutive weeks now and also other websites' bet to win the whole thing. Her elimination tonight might be reflective of being the less popular idol hopeful even though she gave powerful performances the last few weeks.

Skylar Laine sang Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival and Dusty Springfields' You Don't Have To Say You Love Me during last night's American Idol Top 5 solo performances. She also joined the girls' trio and performed Jackie Wilson's Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher.

Before leaving the Idol stage tonight, Skylar gave us again a breath-taking performance of Miranda Lambert's Gunpowder and Lead.
