'Raketeros' Full Trailer Released | Opens in Cinemas August 7

Star Cinema has released the full trailer of Raketeros, an upcoming comedy movie starring Herbert Bautista, Ogie Alcasid, Dennis Padilla, Andrew E. and Long Mejia. 

The movie, which will be released through Star Cinema, is directed by Randy Santiago and produced by Heaven's Best Entertainment of Harlene Bautista.

Also starring Joey Marquez, Mark Gil, Tippy Dos Santos, Eula Caballero, Rodjun Cruz, RR Enriquez, Wendy Valdez, Sam Pinto, Markki Stroem, Regine Angeles, Ryan Bang, Yachang, and PBB Teens Karen Reyes and Ryan Boyce, Raketeros opens in cinemas August 7, 2013.

Raketeros movie plot:

Raketeros recounts the hilarious misadventures of a group of middle aged men, tasked by Don Miguel, their high school batch mate, to fetch an expensive gown from the airport and then take it to Batangas, where it will be worn by his daughter, Juicy, at her debut. Berto, the cable guy (Herbert Bautista), Mando, the billiards player (Dennis Padilla), Julio, the singer (Ogie Alcasid), and Andoy, the priest (Andrew E) experience a series of comical adventures in accomplishing their seemingly simple mission, culminating in an action-filled pursuit by a criminal syndicate. At one point during the car chase, when everything seemed lost, the four buddies revealed intimate truths about themselves, further strengthening their bond of friendship. They managed to survive by the skin of their teeth and take the bullet-ridden gown to Don Miguel's mansion, where it somehow turned out to be the marvel of the event.

Pee Mak starring Mario Maurer Hits Philippine Cinemas on August 28 (Full Trailer)

Thailand's highest grossing film of all time, Pee Mak Phra Khanong starring Thai-German heartthrob Mario Maurer and rising star Davika Hoorne is soon to hit Philippine theaters after conquering Asia and the US.

Produced by the GTH studio and directed by Banjong Pisunthanakun (Hello Stranger), Pee Mak is based on folklore about the ghost of a woman Mae Nak Phra Khanong who died in childbirth and the unsuspecting husband who returns from war to live with his family. 

Past movie adaptations focused more on the lovelorn ghost Mae Nak and her tragic tale, but the new film tells its story through Pee Mak (Maurer), the simple-hearted husband, and the friends who try in vain to tell him his wife’s (Hoorne) secrets.

Pee Mak is the second Thai film (after ATM) distributed in the Philippines by Star Cinema. It will be shown in selected cinemas on August 28, 2013. Watch the Philippine trailer (with English subtitles) below.

KZ Tandingan Goes Sexy in 'Puro Laro' Music Video ft Guji Lorenzana

The X Factor Philippines grand champion KZ Tandingan went sexy on her very first music video off the single Puro Laro from her self-titled debut album.

Directed by Jofre Nachor and published by Star Records, The Puro Laro music video features singer-actor Guji Lorenzana, who recently joined The Voice of the Philippines with his sister (watch their audition here).

Aside from Puro Laro,  KZ’s ten-track album also has the songs Umiibig, Darating Din, Bakit Lumuluha, Killing Me Softly, Un-Love You, the A Beautiful Affair soundtrack 'Wag Ka Nang Umiyak, the Tuhog movie theme song Scared to Death, and the song Love Love Love which was composed by KZ herself.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim Hailed Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 Love Team of the Year

Popular kilig tandem Kim Chiu and Xian Lim bagged the Love Team of the Year award in the Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 held July 19 at the MOA Arena.

KimXi, with 325,453 votes, beat strong love team contenders Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, who got 212,513 votes. 

Real-life couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes placed third with 88,953 votes. Be Careful With My Heart partners Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria took the fourth place with 69,559, while Mundo Mo’y Akin love team Louise delos Reyes and Alden Richards placed fifth with 18,258 votes.

This is the second time that Kim and Xian won the said title, the first on last year’s Yahoo OMG! Awards were they emerged as the big winner, also capturing the Breakthrough Actor and Actress awards (now handled by Enrique Gil and Kathryn Bernardo).

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim started as a love team in the hit series My Binondo Girl. Their tandem has a follow up in the phenomenal Ina Kapatid Anak, which won this year's Yahoo OMG! Best Teleserye Award (CLICK HERE for the complete list of winners).

Kim and Xian will continue to bring "kilig" to fans via their first big screen team up Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo which will premiere in theaters this July 31.

Enrique Gil and Kathryn Bernardo, Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 Breakthrough Actor and Actress of the Year

Top Kapamilya heartthrob Enrique Gil and teen queen Kathryn Bernardo were hailed as Breakthrough Actor and Actress of the year, respectively in the recently concluded Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 held July 19 at the MOA Arena.

Kathryn Bernardo scored a landslide victory for the title with 278,152 votes, a big lead from closest rival Kapuso actress Andrea Torres with only 110,603 votes. Jessy Mendiola came in third with  42,539 votes followed by Bianca King (30,909 votes) and Jasmine Curtis-Smith (15,311 votes).

Meanwhile, Enrique Gil, who was recently named as Sexiest Man in the Philippines for 2013, beat Kathryn's love team partner Daniel Padilla (316,772 votes vs the latter's 280,830 votes). Richard Yap, popularly known as Sir Chief, took the third place with 222,767 votes. Alden Richards and Edgar Allan Guzman took the fourth and fifth spots with 105,802 and 6,301 votes, respectively.

Enrique and Kathryn won Most Promising Actor and Actress, respectively in last year's Yahoo OMG! Awards. It was the second time for Enrique to bag an OMG! award and the third time for Kathryn, the Awesome Young Actress awardee in the very first Yahoo OMG! Awards 2011.

Angel Locsin and Coco Martin Win Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 Actress and Actor of the Year

Kapamilya stars Angel Locsin and Coco Martin added another feather on their caps when the two were proclaimed as Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 Actress and Actor of the Year, respectively in a ceremony held July 19 at the MOA Arena.

Angel Locsin got a total of 263,220 votes beating closest rival Marian Rivera who got 245,179 votes. Anne Curtis came in third (60,627 votes), Jodi Sta. Maria followed with 49,545 votes while Bea Alonzo came next with 18,961 votes. However, Marian was able to beat Angel in the Celebrity of the Year category.

Meanwhile, Coco Martin amassed 190,262 votes to win the title. It was a tight race between him and Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes, who took the second lead with 169,923 votes. John Lloyd Cruz took the third spot with 79,147 votes, while Dennis Trillo and Derek Ramsay took the fourth and fifth spot respectively with 23,955 and 7,541 votes.

Both Angel and Coco won the same awards last year.

The Yahoo! Philippines OMG! Awards is now on its 3rd year of honoring the accomplishments of the year's best artists in the field of music, film and television. The winners were voted by fans through SMS and online.

The Yahoo Philippines OMG! Awards 2013 concluded July 19 in a grand party at the SM Mall of Asia Arena where the official list of winners were revealed. The Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 was hosted by Edu Manzano and Billy Crawford.

Kapamilya stars dominated the list of Yahoo OMG! Awards 2013 winners. Coco Martin and Angel Locsin won the OMG! Actor and Actress of the Year, respectively. Meanwhile, KimXi tandem, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, was hailed OMG! Love Team of the Year. Vice Ganda and Eugene Domingo won Comedian and Comedienne of the Year, both for the third time.

The most star-studded awards night of the year, the Yahoo OMG! National TV Ratings (July 17-18): Muling Buksan Ang Puso Ranks 2nd Nationwide

This year's biggest drama, Muling Buksan Ang Puso is back as the second most-watched program nationwide after it was overtaken by TV Patrol. 

According to the nationwide TV ratings provided by Kantar Media/TNS, Muling Buksan Ang Puso got 29.6% and 28.7% on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Meanwhile, it's rival program, Mundo Mo'y Akin is banking on its last few weeks plug, as well as on the transformation of its lead character, achieving higher ratings recently.

Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala has also recovered from last Tuesday's lowest rating, regaining 20% plus ratings and still winning by a thin margin against My Husband's Lover. Here are the Top 10 daytime and primetime programs on July 17-18, 2013 among Total Philippines (Urban & Rural) households:

Judy Ann Santos starrer Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala registered its lowest rating since it was placed at a later timeslot. On Tuesday (July 16), the show got 19.7%, just 4% ahead of rival My Husband's Lover.

Meanwhile, Juan Dela Cruz is the unbeatable primetime leader, followed by ABS-CBN's flagship newscast TV Patrol, overtaking family drama Muling Buksan Ang Puso in third place. Kapuso programs like Anna KareNina and Mundo Mo'y Akin also enjoyed higher viewership since Ina Kapatid Anak left primetime TV.

ABS-CBN Debunks GMA-7's Claim of Primetime Leadership; Slaps Rival with Nationwide TV Ratings

ABS-CBN’s hit superhero primetime series “Juan dela Cruz” starring Teleserye King Coco Martin continues to lead in the latest nationwide TV ratings, making it as the most-watched TV program in the country.

Based on the latest data last Wednesday (July 17) from Kantar Media that uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, “Juan dela Cruz” continues to rule primetime TV with an impressive national TV ratings of 35.9%, or 14 points higher than its rival program “Anna Karenina,” which GMA claims to be ‘dominating its time slot.’

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” enjoyed high viewership as the second most-watched TV program with a 29.6% national TV ratings contrary to claims that GMA’s “Mundo Mo’y Akin” is the ‘most-watched drama series on primetime.’ Based on data from Kantar Media, “Mundo Mo’y Akin” lagged behind “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” by as much as 8 points.

Likewise, the fast-paced Kapamilya drama “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” topbilled Pinoy Soap Opera Queen Judy Ann Santos, has kept its loyal viewers on the edge of their seats as it still ruled its timeslot with 21.9% national TV ratings. Its rival “My Husband’s Lover” continues to lose steam and rated only 16.5% despite claims that it has more viewers.

Apart from its winning drama series, ABS-CBN’s flagship TV newscast “TV Patrol” remains to be the most-watched news program in the country. “TV Patrol” became the third most-watched TV program with a national TV rating of 28.8% or 10 points higher than “24 Oras” (18.7%).

Family drama series “Annaliza,” topbilled by fast-rising Kapamilya child star Andrea Brillantes, and hit Koreanovela “That Winter The Wind Blows” continue to charm more TV viewers as proven by the recent national TV ratings. “Annaliza” ruled its timeslot with 18.5%, beating its rival show “Home Sweet Home” that only scored 11.2%. While, the Kapamilya Koreanovela won with 9.9%, trouncing GMA’s “Padam Padam The Music of Their Hearts,” which only got 7.2%.

Carlo Aquino Topbills MMK this July 20 with Lester Llansang and Bembol Roco

Asia's longest-running drama anthology “MMK” will share another top caliber family drama episode to TV viewers this Saturday (July 20), featuring former best child performers, namely Carlo Aquino and Lester Llansang. 

The two will play the role of identical twins Fred (Carlo) and Freddie (Lester), who will both be maltreated and abused in the ships where they work as fishermen.

Gandang Gabi Vice Ending Soon Despite High Ratings?

Vice Ganda’s two-year old hit comedy variety talk show in ABS-CBN “Gandang Gabi Vice” continues to rule its timeslot as proven by the latest data from Kantar Media last Sunday (July 14).

The said episode featured “The Voice of the Philippines” coach and Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap and famous hip-hop artist Abra. “GGV” once again reigned its time slot with its 19.7% national TV ratings, which was five points higher that it rival show in GMA, “Imbestigador” that only scored 14.6%. 

Since it premiered on 2011, “GGV” managed to be a consistent top-rater, successfully conquering all the rival shows pitted against it. “GGV” was such a phenomenal hit that among TV viewers and netizens that it is now dubbed as the ‘trending capital of the Philippines’ because the show and its guests unfailingly dominate the top trending topics’ list of popular microblogging site Twitter. 

However, rumor has it that Vice Ganda's Sunday talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice” will be axed soon despite being on top of the game. 

Reports about GGV ending soon circulated online, pointing out that advertisers pulled out on the show due to a recent controversy involving a bad joke on Vice's concert. However, the network is still mum about the issue.

We will be enlightened about these rumors in a few week's time but for the meantime, don’t miss Vice and his guests’ shocking surprises this Sunday (July 21) in “Gandang Gabi Vice,” 9:30 pm, after “The Voice of the Philippines” on ABS-CBN.
