Joey Marquez will be leaving the ABS-CBN Saturday talk show Showbiz Inside Report. The actor-politician will have until next week before bidding goodbye to the show.
Tsong Joey is leaving 'SIR' because he is running for congressman of Parañaque's 2nd district and as per election rules and regulations, any personality or mass media practitioner seeking public office must resign or take a leave of absence from his/her work come campaign period, which officially starts March 29.
In an interview with Journal, Joey expressed his sadness upon leaving 'SIR' since he really loved hosting the show. When asked if he will be back to 'SIR' after elections, Joey said that ABS-CBN holds the decision.
"Depende sa Channel 2 ’yan, eh. Kasi may policy yata ang Channel 2. Ako, I’d like to come back, pero depende sa Channel 2 kung tatanggapin nila. I enjoy it (mag-host ng SIR), eh. Ang sarap, eh. Ang sarap i-extract ng mga problema ng isang tao,” he said.
Meanwhile, Joey Marquez is now shooting for the comedy movie Raketeros where he is playing one of the lead roles. He will be joining Mayor Herbert Bautista, Ogie Alcasid, Long Mejia, Dennis Padilla and Andrew E in the said comedy movie which will be directed by Randy Santiago and produced by Heaven's Best of Harlene Bautista.
The movie, which is expected to hit theaters in the middle of the year also stars Eula Caballero, Tippy Dos Santos, Rodjun Cruz, RR Enriquez, Wendy Valdez, Regine Angeles, Ryan Bang, Yachang, and PBB Teens Karen Reyes and Ryan Boyce.
