Thalia Approves Jessy Mendiola's Maria Mercedes Reprise; Wishes the Actress Good Luck

Mexican superstar Thalia surprised advertisers during the recent ABS-CBN trade event when she appeared on screen and wished young actress Jessy Mendiola good luck in reprising her iconic role for the upcoming Pinoy adaptation of hit 90s telenovela “Maria Mercedes.”

“Thank you to Jessy. All the luck in the world. You’re going to make an amazing job. All the production and all the cast, good luck in Maria Mercedes,” said Thalia via a taped Skype interview for the current affairs show “Tapatan ni Tunying.”

Jessy is the third actress to play a “Maria” role among Thalia’s Maria-seryes on Philippine television. She is the only one endorsed by Thalia herself.

Charice Wants to Return to 'Glee' as the Gay Sunshine Corazon

International singing sensation Charice said that she wanted to return to the hit American musical TV series Glee in a gay role. Charice had a guesting stint in the second season of the said show as the Filipina exchange student Sunshine Corazon.

In an interview with ABS-CBN Hollywood correspondent Yong Chavez, Charice revealed that one of her biggest wish is to return to the hit US TV show Glee. 

"Definitely. I would still love to play Sunshine. Very open, sobrang inspirational, dahil totoo," said Charice, who has always admired how the show supported LGBT issue even before she had that guesting stint in Season 2.

Charice came out as gay on national TV just recently and she appreciated how her fans stayed loyal to her. 

Charice is currently in Hollywood to honor some commitments. While in Los Angeles, she told her US management team that she would like to audition for Hollywood movies and TV shows.

"Yun 'yung unang-unang sinabi ko sa kanila na gusto kong gawin. Kasi parang nahihilig din ako sa acting. But this time I want to play weird na roles. Seryoso, lagi nila akong pinagtatawanan na gusto kong maging serial killer, ganyan," she explained.

Charice will return to the Philippines after finishing her engagements in the US to start promoting her "Chapter 10" album. The said album talks about the new chapter in her life. 

One of the songs in the album, Unexpected Love, which Charice co-wrote with The Voice US semi-finalist Cheesa Laureta, is dedicated to her girlfriend Alyssa Quijano.

Kim Chiu Snubs a Fan; Actress Admits to the Incident

Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu admitted that she snubbed a fan at a supermarket in Taguig. According to reports, Kim refused to have her picture taken with a little girl who saw her at S&R in Taguig City. However, Kim clarified that she had her reasons for doing so.

In her official Twitter account, Kim cleared the issue when a fan called her attention of someone who posted an account of the snubbing incident.

Kim replied to the fan, saying that she just snubbed the fan because that woman was allegedly forcing her daughter to have a picture taken with her. In a series of tweets, Kim said:

"Thanks for the info, I don’t like kasi ‘yung feeling na pinipilit nila yung bata na magpa-picture sa akin even if the kid doesn't really want. Tinutulak-tulak nya na ‘yung bata palapit sa ‘kin, ‘yung bata naman ayaw. So sana si mommy na lang nagpa-pic sa ‘kin at least ‘yun ok pa, ‘di na nahirapan ‘yung bata. Di na n’ya tinulak-tulak. So what I did, ‘di ko na pinasin si mommy. Kawawa yung bata, e."

JC de Vera Now Part of Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador Teleserye

Newest Kapamilya JC de Vera will be part of the upcoming teleserye of Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador. JC himself confirmed the news on his The Buzz guesting Sunday (August 11).

The said teleserye has the working title Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin which will also feature Christopher de Leon, Maria Isabel Lopez, Rio Locsin, Mark Gil, Odette Khan, Bernard Palanca and Joem Bascon. 

There is a scarce information about the theme of the series but some reports claimed that the said teleserye will be a romance drama with Maja and Angel playing rivals. Jake Cuenca was earlier reported as part of the series and he was probably replaced by JC de Vera, since the former will be doing the remake of Maria Mercedes with Jessy Mendiola and Jason Abalos.

JC became excited when the series was offered to him since aside from working with award-winning actors, he will also be working with showbiz crush Maja Salvador. He also admitted in The Buzz that he has a crush on Kim Chiu and Sarah Geronimo (surprisingly, all girls were linked to Gerald Anderson).

JC de Vera signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN last July 29 and he already appeared in Gandang Gabi Vice which made him trend on Twitter for about a day. The said episode featured JC doing a strip tease (macho dancing) to Vice Ganda (watch video here).

Earlier reports said that JC will start taping for the series this August but several other reports pointed out that the airing of the said teleserye will be moved next year as ABS-CBN's opening salvo for 2014.

Bamboo and Yeng's It's Showtime performance was a sort of a "sample" on their first ever concert together titled BY Request (Bamboo and Yeng in Concert) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 17.

Daniel Padilla on Kathryn Bernardo: "Hindi pwede kumausap ng ibang lalaki kasi magagalit ako."

Is Daniel Padilla being possessive of Kathryn Bernardo?

On the August 9, 2013 episode of Kris TV, Daniel Padilla imposed rules on Kathryn Bernardo now that she has returned to school. Kathryn is taking up Business Administration (major in Marketing) at the Enderun Colleges. 

Daniel said that he does not want Kathryn to talk to other boys.

"Mayroon [akong do's and don'ts para kay Kathryn]. Do's, mag-aral ka lang. Don'ts, kumausap ng lalaki. 'Yun lang," said Daniel to which Kathryn replied, "Kung hindi naman ako kakausapin, hindi ko sila kakausapin."

"Kapag gusto mong makipag-usap, bawal din," Daniel stressed. "Hindi pwede kasi magagalit ako."

When Kris asked the two if they can keep the rules for long, Kathryn replied:

"Basta trust lang talaga. Di naman hindi siya pwedeng makipag-usap sa iba, eh pwede naman. Depende naman sa tao kung paano mo iha-handle ang mga mami-meet mo, depende kung paano ka makipag-usap o ma-attach sa kanya."

Daniel said that he can stick to the rule, unlike Kathryn who sometime became careless.

"Ako kaya ko. Si Kathryn kasi 'pag masyado na siyang masaya, nadadala siya ng emosyon niya minsan na nakakalimutan na niya 'yung mga bawal."

When Kathryn tried to reason out, Daniel emphasized Kath's being careless while guest co-host Melai Cantiveros explained to Kathryn why Daniel's acting like that.

"Miss Kris, malalim talaga ang mga boys kapag sobrang in love sila. Kasi sobrang protective lang siya sa 'yo Kathryn kaya ganyan si Daniel," Melai said.

Kathryn and Daniel have yet to admit that they are officially a couple but in previous interviews, the two said that they are in the "MU" or "mutual understanding" stage. Two years after their first ever team up in  Growing Up, KathNiel will have their television return via primetime series Got to Believe which is set to premiere this August 26.

Judy Ann Santos Not Leaving ABS-CBN, New Teleserye in the Works

Teleserye Queen Judy Ann Santos will remain as a Kapamilya, Dreamscape Entertainment Adprom head Biboy Arboleda confirmed to Journal Online after reports that Juday will be transferring networks surfaced.

According to reports, Judy Ann Santos will sign a new contract with ABS-CBN anytime soon. There are also ongoing talks between ABS-CBN executives and Judy Ann's camp about the said contract renewal and the projects that she will be doing.

Direk Lauren Dyogi, ABS-CBN TV Production Entertainment head, confirmed via Twitter that the network have wonderful offers for Juday. 

"Hopefully Judai accepts the new project we offered her. Bago na naman for her. Judai is well-loved. Thanks for giving her your full support. I think she will stay, [we] will pray for that," Direk Lauren said in a series of tweet replies.

Direk Lauren also clarified the issue about Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala being cut short. He said that the creators don't want to extend the story unnecessarily. As one of the best crafted soaps of ABS-CBN, they wanted the story to be short but powerful, the reason it will only run for 13 weeks.

However, it was Judy Ann who requested to end the soap's run two months short of its planned airing, instead of being moved to a later timeslot (4th in primetime after the evening newscast) to give way for the KathNiel teleserye Got to Believe.

Judy Ann Santos teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala will air its finale episode on August 23 and Dreamscape Entertainment is trusting Juday a new teleserye after she has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN.

Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's Got to Believe is expected to premiere on August 26 right after Juan Dela Cruz. Family drama Muling Buksan Ang Puso will take Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala's timeslot and will be pitted against My Husband's Lover.

Sarah Geronimo, Top of Big Bang Collaborate for Kakao Talk (TVC Video)

Asia's Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo and Top from the K-POP sensation Big Bang did a recent collaboration for Korea’s no. 1 mobile social application KakaoTalk, which is now in the Philippines.

Sarah Geronimo and Top of Big Bang, as brand ambassadors of Kakao Talk, had shot for a TV commercial which is now airing in the country. In the said TVC ad for the social app, Top used Kakao Talk to call Sarah for free. "Whatya doing now?" Top asked Sarah in his low natural tone.

KakaoTalk, just like other mobile social app, is free of charge. It’s available on iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows, Bada and PC. It allows users to send messages, pictures, video, URLs, contact details and schedule. It also supports voice call and group call with as much as 5 people.

Chito Miranda Son Suspect for Leaked Sex Video? Chito Denies Having Son

The video scandal involving Chito Miranda and girlfriend Neri Naig has been the talk of the town since last week and recently, a new development surfaced—that Chito Miranda's son was the one responsible for leaking the said sex video.

Screenshots of a Facebook message from a certain Alfonso Yanga Miranda (nicknamed JB) is now getting rounds in the internet. The said JB is claiming to be Chito's son and  that he was the one who uploaded the private video of Chito and Neri to destroy his "father" who, according to him was not the Chito Miranda he used to be.

"Napakatino mong tao dati. Sayang iniwan ka ni Ate Lirah (Chito's ex-girlfriend) at nalulungkot ako na naging ganyan ka. Sorry, ako ang naglabas ng video. Kung sinubukan mo akong patinuin noong bata pa ako, susubukan rin kitang patinuin ngayon," JB said in the message.

 Meanwhile, Chito Miranda denied that he has a son. On the official Facebook page of Parokya ni Edgar, the band vocalist reacted on the rumors.

"Musta? Sorry kung medyo matagal akong hindi nakapag-post. Daming nangyari sa akin this week eh. Anyway, kaka-uwi lang namin mula sa tvc shoot para sa bagong commercial ng Tanduay," Chito first greeted the band's followers.

"Nagalit mga kabanda ko sa akin kasi may mga anak na daw pala ako tapos di ko man lang sila sinabihan. Nagtampo tuloy si Dindin kasi bakit hindi ko daw sya kinuhang ninong. Nag-sorry ako kasi kanina ko lang din nabalitaan na may mga anak na pala ako. Akala ko talaga chismis lang! Parang gago yung nag-imbento nung chismis na yun. Hehe! Buti nalang di hamak na mas gago mga kabanda ko," Chito clarified.

So all the brouhaha about Chito Miranda's son leaking his father's sex video were just pure rumors since Chito never had a son at all. There's just someone who invented these stories, probably riding in the controversy or with a deeper motive of destroying Chito and Neri.

However, it seemed that Chito Miranda is unfazed, with all the support from his band mates, their fans and loved ones.

"Buti nalang walang iwanan sa Parokya," Chito posted. "Peace and Rakenrol."

Sarah Lahbati Gives Birth to Richard Gutierrez Baby Boy: Report

Former GMA-7 talent and controversial star Sarah Lahbati has given birth to Richard Gutierrez's baby, a source told entertainment website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph).

According to the said source, Sarah Lahbati  gave birth last April to a baby boy which they named Zion. The source added that an MMS photo of the baby was sent to the Gutierrez family at the height of Annabelle Rama's congressional campaign in Cebu three months ago.

It can be recalled that Sarah Lahbati flew to Switzerland last January in the midst of the issue between her and GMA-7 executive Anette Gozon-Abrogar. Sarah was with her mother during departure, saying that she will study there.

While in Switzerland, Sarah Lahbati was visited by boyfriend Richard Gutierrez several times.

The sudden decision of Sarah Lahbati made others speculate that she's pregnant with boyfriend Richard Gutierrez's baby. However, Sarah and Richard were both keen in denying the issue.

Just last month, Sarah Lahbati returned to the Philippines to face the libel charges filed against her. A sexy Sarah Lahbati faced the media, debunking the pregnancy rumors. When asked about the pregnancy issue, Sarah chose not to comment. However, others still believed that she got pregnant and has already given birth by the time she came back to the country.

Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez's camps have not yet released a statement about the issue.

Judy Ann Santos to Transfer Network When Soap Ends? Will it be TV-5 or GMA-7?

Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera Judy Ann Santos is reportedly considering a network switch after the end of her teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala on ABS-CBN.

According to reports, Judy Ann Santos is now weighing options whether to transfer or not. Judy Ann's manager, Alfie Lorenzo said that they will be attending a dinner-meeting with TV-5 boss Manny V. Pangilinan. There are also talks that Juday and Tito Alfie will also meet with GMA-7 executives.

Judy Ann Santos' contract with ABS-CBN expired last July and the queen is now free to grab any offer from rival networks while ABS-CBN, her home network for two decades, is still drafting a new contract for her to consider.

Rumor has it that Judy Ann Santos' camp felt bad when the network decided to move her comeback teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala to a later timeslot to give way to Muling Buksan Ang Puso, when it was doing better in TV ratings. This time, the network allegedly wanted to move the show's timeslot again to accommodate Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's teleserye Got to Believe.

Judy Ann allegedly got offended after executives told her the move and in disappointment, Judy Ann reportedly decided to just end her teleserye the soonest instead of being placed at a later timeslot (fourth in primetime after evening newscast) where there is very limited viewership. 

Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala premiered last June 17 and there are reports that it will air its finale on August 23, two months after it first aired on TV.  

Many netizens feel with Juday because despite being bestowed the title of 'Teleserye Queen,' her series were always cut short and barely last long, with follow up teleserye happening after about 2 years. 

Will Juday finally end her loyalty to ABS-CBN and leave the network? If she decides to do so, where will we see Judy Ann next—TV-5 or GMA-7?

JC de Vera Strips, Does Macho Dancing on GGV - August 4 (Video)

He was warmly welcomed as a Kapamilya but JC de Vera returned the warm atmosphere by heating up the studio of Gandang Gabi Vice on Sunday, August 4. JC did strip for Vice Ganda, teasing not only the hosts but also the audience.

JC showed off his rock hard abs on GGV, first with the request of a fan (who also assisted JC in taking off his short-sleeved polo) and the second time when he performed a macho dancing strip tease for Vice Ganda. JC is supposed to do the "whoops kiri" step but was unable to follow so he just offered himself to do macho dancing.

Jericho Rosales, Kim Jones Engaged | Actor Proposes to Model-host Girlfriend

Actor Jericho Rosales is now engaged with girlfriend Kim Jones. Jericho reportedly proposed to Kim on Sunday, August 4 at the New Life Christian Center in Alabang.

In an interview with The Buzz on Sunday, Jericho Rosales shared how he proposed to his Filipino-British model-host girlfriend after about two years of being together.

"I just had that feeling in my heart na I have to propose sa Church. It cannot be like kaming dalawang lang. I felt like I had to propose in front of people na hindi konektado sa akin. [The Church] allowed it," Jericho said as reported by ABS-CBN News.

"I went up onstage, the pastor called me. He was talking about how much God loves us. And then pag-akyat ko, I opened up with ‘Why me? Why does God love me after everything that I have done in life? He has an unconditional love for us.’ And then the next question was why me pa rin but take out the letter H and add another M: W-Y-M-M-E, which means will you marry me," he added.

Jericho also shared his happiness on Instagram where he posted a picture of Kim (above photo) wearing her engagement ring. He also thanked Kim for accepting his proposal of forever.

"Ok here's the real one. I love you, Miss Jones. You are the love of my life. Thank you for saying YES (to forever) to me. Happy birthday! God is amazing! Yeeeeeehaaa! We are engaged!!!!" the caption said.

There's no official wedding date yet for Echo and Kim but the couple is planning to tie the knot in the beach.

Chito Miranda and Neri Naig Sex Video Scandal Hits the Web

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda and girlfriend Neri Naig are newest victims of a sex video scandal which was uploaded on the web. 

Just recently, a video of Chito and Neri starts circulating online. The said video allegedly features the couple while making out. The video scandal became an instant hot topic among netizens and screencaps of the said sex video is now making rounds in the internet.

Chito Miranda and girlfriend Neri, who is an alumna of ABS-CBN talent search Star Circle Quest, were saddened by the posting of their intimate video. On Instagram, Chito apologized to all who has been badly affected by the scandal.

"We are truly saddened by the fact na may nag-leak na private video of me and my girlfriend, Neri Naig. Humihingi po ako ng paumanhin sa mga pamilya namin for this unfortunate incident. Thank you for your prayers," Chito said in the uploaded image.

Chito said on Twitter that he was robbed and among those stolen was his hard drive where private videos and several other images and files were stored.

After its well-received world premiere in the 66th Cannes International Film Festival in France, Filipino action-thriller “OTJ” (On The Job) won two major awards in the recently held 17th Puchon International Fantastic Film Fest in South Korea.

Co-produced by Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment, the Erik Matti masterpiece “OTJ” won jury’s choice, while one of its lead actors, Joel Torre, bagged the best actor trophy. Joel played as a middle-aged hired killer in the film.

Part of Star Cinema’s continuing grand 20th anniversary celebration, the much talked about “OTJ” is set to unleash the braver Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson through the edgy direction of Direk Erik of the story that features Piolo as an NBI agent who aims to hunt down Gerald’s character who is a professional hitman.

Also part of “OTJ” are Rayver Cruz, Joey Marquez, Shaina Magdayao, Angel Aquino and Empress.

Megastyle.ph released its list of the 17 hottest male models in the Philippines today, in the tradition of recognizing the very best and latest of Philippine fashion and style.  

Photographed by Jerick Sanchez, the 17 hottest models shared how long they’ve been modelling, and what they love about denim. Some who made it in the list are familiar names like model/stylist Brent Javier, Manhunt International 2012 June Macasaet, Kahit Puso'y Masugatan cast member Marx Topacio, DJ Callum David, Mr. Chinatown contestant Skye Yang, and Bench models Vince Ferraren and Sam Ajdani.

The official candidates to the Miss World Philippines 2013 have been announced. This year, 26 lovely ladies will be vying for the crown and the honor to represent our country to the Miss World 2013 pageant happening this September in Indonesia.
