The 7th Star Magic Ball 2013 happens tonight, September 7 at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City. The annual ball gathers Star Magic artists together with the famous names in the industry from directors, film and television producers to entrepreneurs and network executives for a night of glamour, laughter and camaraderie and this time to celebrate Star Magic's 21 glorious years.

Wearing their fashionable gowns and suits made by top fashion designers, stars and guests walked the red carpet flaunting the glitz that is 'showbiz.' Of course, the glitz and the glamour will not be completed without the issues that will arise from the annual ball wherein new tandems and couple will be discovered and the hunt for the best- and worst-dressed of the evening.

Mutya Datul Wins Miss Supranational 2013 (Video)

The Philippines' very own Mutya Johanna Datul was crowned Miss Supranational 2013 in a glittering ceremony held at the Sports Palace, Minsk, Belarus on Friday, September 6 (Saturday morning in Manila).

Mutya Datul bested over 80 contestants of the annual pageant, including fellow Filipinas Suzzette Hernandez (who represented Canada) and Marie Molo Peter (who represented Norway), to become the first Asian to win the Miss Supranational title. Aside from the title and the crown, the 21-year-old Isabela native also brought home US$25,000.

Early in the competition, Mutya Datul won the Miss Supranational Personality award. She will be welcomed as the country's new queen on Monday, September 9.

Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes Kissing Photo Goes Viral; Derek Admits Relationship with Cristine

Kapatid hunk Derek Ramsay posted a photo of him and Cristine Reyes kissing inside a car on his Instagram account. Last Wednesday, the actor admitted that he and the Kapamilya sexy star are already in a romatic relationship.

The photo of Derek and Cristine locking lips inside the car was captioned "This is forever! @queencristinereyes," with Derek tagging Cristine's IG handle. 

According to reports, Derek and Cristine officially became a couple on August 28.  Replying to a fan on Twitter who reiterated that Derek promised to keep his next relationship private, the actor said: "I did say that ill never date someone from showbiz and that id never date cristine coz she is a friend. I eat my words."

Meanwhile, Cristine posted on Instagram a photo of her captioned with what could be a confirmation of her romance with Derek.

"Not just your girl. I am your everything. Eight. Twenty Eight. Twenty Thirteen. Happy. Happy. Happy," the caption said with the specified date that they became officially on (August 28, 2013).

Derek's past publicized relationship was with Angelica Panganiban while Cristine came from a mutual separation with ex-boyfriend Rayver Cruz. Before admitting to their relationship, Derek and Cristine were frequently seen going out on a date.

The two worked together as husband and wife in the blockbuster movie No Other Woman and now shooting for another film Trophy Wife with Kapuso star Heart Evangelista.

Actress Angel Locsin proved that she's not only a versatile actress but also a good dancer on It's Showtime when she danced to '90s hits for the noontime show's opening number on Saturday, August 31.

Angel Locsin surprised not only the madalang pipol and the millions watching all over the world but also her It's Showtime co-hosts. Vhong Navarro, a dancer himself, said that Angel can actually guest on ASAP's Supah Dance segment with that grace and timing in dancing.

Angel indeed is starting to expand her horizons which is a good thing for her career. She has tried drama, comedy and action and now venturing into hosting. She can definitely dance so her fans must be really proud of her.

Melai Cantiveros Pregnant with Jason Francisco's Baby?

Is it true that PBB Double Up big winner Melai Cantiveros is pregnant with Jason Francisco's child? Netizens were surprised Saturday evening when a report about Melai being pregnant and her boyfriend Jason Francisco as the baby's father spread online. 

According to reports, the rumor started when host Ogie Diaz dropped a blind item on his radio program OMJ  Saturday evening pertaining to Melai. He then posted a tweet asking whether the said pregnancy rumor was true.

Ogie revealed that the baby was made in Singapore when the Melason love team joined Kris Aquino for the taping of an international episode of KrisTV where Melai is a semi-regular co-host.

If the baby is indeed made in Singapore, then Melai, if the alleged pregnancy is true, will be more or less two months pregnant as the said episode was aired and probably taped June of this year.

Melai and Jason started to became close inside the Pinoy Big Brother house way back in 2009 when both were housemates in the show's double up edition. The two then opened up about their relationship after their PBB stint which boosted their popularity as a love team, landing them a show of their own.

Melai and Jason broke up last year and reconciled a year after. 

The two is yet to comment on the pregnancy issue but fans of Melason are already tweeting congratulatory messages for the couple. If indeed Melai is pregnant with Jason's child, we're also happy for both of them.

Mutya Datul Wins Miss Supranational 2013 Personality Award

Philippine bet Mutya Johanna Datul won Miss Supranational Personality at the sidelines of a pre-pageant event of the Miss Supranational 2013 pageant held at the National Beauty School in Minsk, Belarus.

According to reports, Mutya Datul shined in the event where all the candidates paraded in swimsuits and cocktail dresses. Mutya's jovial personality and undeniable charm captivated the judges which voted for her to win the Miss Personality sash.

"Miss Philippines charm, smile and charisma were hard to match in tonight's competition. She truly owned the stage and conquered the judges and the audience in Belarus," popular pageant website Global Beauties described Mutya during the said presentation.

Aside from Mutya Datul, three other ladies won special awards that night. Miss Supranational Elegance award went to Sally Lindrgen of Sweden while Miss Supranational Top Model sash fitted very much on Valeria Donu of Moldova. Meanwhile, photographers gave Desirée Del Rio of Puerto Rico the Miss Photogenic award.

Mutya's roommate, Nancy Markus of Malaysia also won a special award being hailed as Miss Supranational Talent, with Miss Cameroon and Miss US Virgin Islands completing the top 3 in the talent competition.

The special award will surely boost Mutya Datul's spirit in the pageant which will culminate on September 6 at the Sport's Palace in Belarus. Ekaterina Buraya, the reigning Miss Supranational from Belarus will crown her successor at the end of the event. 

Let's hope it's our very own Mutya Datul.

Toni Gonzaga on Paul Soriano Marriage Proposal: "Tapusin muna niya ang finals ng The Voice"

Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga pleads to long-time boyfriend Paul Soriano to at least let her finish her hosting job as host of The Voice of the Philippines before proposing marriage to her.

"Nakikiusap ako tapusin muna niya ang finals ng The Voice [of the Philippines]," Toni said when asked by The Buzz co-host Boy Abunda what she would do if Direk Paul proposes to her at this time.

It can be recalled that Direk Paul revealed in his previews interview that he is planning to propose to Toni "when she least expects it." The TV host-actress is turning 30 in January next year and the director warned the public that the proposal is "happening very soon."

Speaking on The Buzz Sunday, Toni said that she does not want the director to propose in public, just like what many of us are seeing nowadays.

"Kinausap ko siya. Ayaw ko naman ng public proposal. I cannot take it. Gusto ko umiyak, namnamin. Siyempre kapag maraming tao, gagandahan ko ang iyak ko. Ayaw ko ng ganun, gusto ko humagulgol," she said.

With that conversation in The Buzz, it seems that the proposal is happening very soon and Toni, the way she handles the issue seems like very ready to settle down when the director asked her hand for marriage.

As what Boy Abunda said, when the couple was successful in their respective careers, there's now the mindset of taking the relationship into the next level. 

Toni and Direk Paul have been a couple for about seven years now.

Sam Milby Courting Jessy Mendiola

Actor Sam Milby is courting Jessy Mendiola. The Kapamilya singer-actor admitted on The Buzz Sunday, August 25 that he is pursuing Jessy, the lead star of upcoming teleserye Maria Mercedes.

In an interview during the thanksgiving party for Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, Sam revealed that he has been courting Jessy Mendiola for two weeks now. He also said that he admires Jessy's simplicity and beauty, as well as her maturity as a person.

Sam also clarified that Jessy knew that he's courting her.

Meanwhile, Jessy Mendiola confirmed that Sam is really courting her. In a message sent to The Buzz, Jessy said that there's nothing wrong with them hanging out on a date since they're both single. However, Jessy mentioned that she's focus on her career for now although she's not totally closing her doors on knowing Sam better and for the actor to also know her deeper.

Sam Milby and Jessy Mendiola first worked together in a pre-Valentine episode of MMK last year before Sam went on a leave to audition for a possible role in Hollywood.

Sam has been linked with Shaina Magdayao lately while Jessy came from a "failed" relationship with Matteo Guidicelli. The blossoming romance between the two was put on hold after they decided to focus on their respective careers first.

Kristine Hermosa Raring for a Showbiz Comeback

Actress Kristine Hermosa has been absent from the limelight for more than two years now and with fans craving to see more of her on television, Kristine is as eager to return to acting. 

In a recent interview with Push.com, Kristine said that she's patiently waiting for the right project to come, something with a decent schedule, one that "hindi ko kailangang i-sacrifice yung time ko for my family. Yung hindi ako mawawalan ng oras for my children and for my husband and yung hindi stressful."

Kristine's last TV project was the teleserye Noah with Piolo Pascual and Zaijian Jaranilla were she played Diwatang Eva. The series ended as Kristine settle to become a dedicated wife to Oyo Sotto and later a mother to her kids, Kiel and Ondrea Bliss.

Kristine revealed that she wanted to do something light on television with possibly a twice-a-week taping schedule. She's skipping heavy drama because according to her, the genre drains too much energy and requires more time to rest, which she can't do being a hands-on wife and mom.

"Kasi ang tagal ko na ring ginagawa ito [drama] eh kaya ko naman ng iba. Kaya ko naman mag-action or comedy. Kaya naman eh, medyo nasanay lang kasi ang mga tao na yun ng yon ang ginagawa ko kaya yun ng yon ang hinahanap nila. Pero siguro kapag nakita naman nila ako sa iba [parang tatanggapin rin naman siguro nila ako]."

Kristine said that she missed acting so much and praying for the right project to come. 

"Let’s pray harder na meron na meron ng ibigay si God na katulad ng mga sinabi ko na light, happy lang, yung may matututunan sila talaga na hindi lang puro about love na drama-drama kasi ma-drama na nga yung buhay natin in real life so kailangan natin ng something to uplift us," she said.

"Pero if hindi pa right time at hindi pa binibigay ni God yung right time and right project, so I’ll be patient kasi siya yung masusunod."

Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera Project Still A Secret; Photos Go Viral

Two of the biggest stars today, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera are collaborating in a big project which will be unveiled in due time. On what project will it be, both camps were silent for now.

On Thursday, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera had a pictorial for a still undisclosed project. It may sound impossible but the pictorial photos which had gone viral will prove that indeed, these two superstars from rival networks will be teaming up for a project.

Both have played the iconic role of Darna on television and fans always pit them against each other, igniting a rivalry. However, just like Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos, professional rivals can be friends in real life. 

There's a limited information on what Angel and Marian will be doing together and we can only speculate. For sure, this won't be a teleserye as the two belong to rival networks. A movie will be a good guess since both can appear in a co-production (e.g. Star Cinema and Regal Films). The highest probability will always be in an endorsement deal—a TV commercial perhaps. However, according to sources, the pictorial is for a magazine.

Kurt Bringas of PGT Grand Finalist Bringas Brothers Dies of Cancer

Dvao del Sur's pride, Kurt Bringas of the Bringas Brothers passed away on Sunday after seven years of battling with bone cancer, ABS-CBN News reported.

Kurt Bringas is the other half of the singing duo Bringas Brothers (the other one is the older brother Jefferson) who finished third place in the third season of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT). Maasinhon Trio was declared the champion of the batch.

"Alam niya na mahal na mahal namin siya. Alam namin na masaya na siya, wala na siyang sufferings. Hindi na namin siya makikita na nagsa-suffer pa sa sakit," Jefferson, who was beside Kurt when he died, told ABS-CBN News

Kurt's parents, Helen and Amado were both in grief with the singer's death. Her mother even recalled seeing her son in pain during his last moments in the hospital while his father revealed how he established a strong front so as not to discourage Kurt about his worsening condition.

"Sa ospital, talagang umiyak ako. Sinabihan ko si Kurt, 'Mahal ka namin, huwag mo kaming iwanan.' Sabi niya, 'Mama, hindi ko na talaga kaya,'" Kurt's mother said.

Kurt Bringas first knew of his condition in 2006 when the cancer was already at stage 4. He's been on continuous medication when he joined PGT, and even recalled being given only one month to live after the cancer cells reached his lungs and liver.

Last year, Maalaala Mo Kaya featured the story of the Bringas Brothers with real life brothers Rodjun and Rayver Cruz playing Jefferson and Kurt, respectively.

Megan Young Wins Miss World Philippines 2013

Kapamilya actress Megan Young was crowned as Miss World Philippines 2013 at the Miss World Philippines Grand Coronation Night held at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.

Megan Lynne Young bested 24 other lovely candidates to take home the night's most coveted title and the chance to represent the Philippines in the 2013 Miss World Pageant in Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia on September 28.

"Miss World Philippines is selfless and to be selfless, you need to have a heart. If I win Miss World Philippines, I would give myself wholeheartedly to be of service. Beauty with a heart," Megan said during the final Q&A.

Winning the Miss World Philippines crown was a dream come true for the 23-year-old Star Magic artist. 

"It's something I've always wanted to do, so I don't want to have any regrets when I get older, thinking, 'I should have done this, I should have done that,'" Megan told ABS-CBN news in an interview.

"I have the heart to do it. Miss World embodies the beauty in giving, and I think I have a lot to offer when it comes to that," she added when asked why she deserves to win the pageant.

Megan was a finalist of the second season of GMA-7's reality-based artista search StarStruck way back in 2005. She then became a Kapuso contract star before transferring to rival ABS-CBN. She later become one of the housemates in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2.

Megan played supporting roles in Kapamilya shows like Kokey, I Love Betty La Fea, and Rubi before snatching a lead role in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Hiyas opposite PBB batch mate Zanjoe Marudo. She also appeared as a video jock in Channel [V] Philippines and as a host in Us Girls and ASAP 18.

Luis Manzano vs Jennylyn Mercado; Couple Unfollow Each Other on Social Media

Showbiz couple Luis Manzano and Jennylyn Mercado will be pitted against each other weekday mornings when their shows go head-to-head starting August 26.

The new parent-kid reality show of GMA-7 Anak Ko Yan (That's My Baby), hosted by Jennylyn Mercado, will directly compete with Luis Manzano's game show Minute to Win It on ABS-CBN. The two programs will literally clash since both will be shown on the same timeslot.

Jennylyn Mercado posted on Instagram a screenshot of Luis Manzano's comment about her earlier post on the timeslot of her new show Anak Ko Yan. 

"Announcement… Dahil nag decide ang management na ipagtapat an minute to win it sa anak ko yan….Nag decide rin kami ni @mercadojenny na i unfollow ang isa’t isa at wag na muna magusap habang umeere mga show namin, hope you understand… :p hehe," Luis said.

The screenshot was captioned by Jennylyn: "Yes... Wala munang i love you, i miss you, lambingan, hug at kung ano ano pa. Di muna siguro kami rin magkikita muna at maguusap. (Pero kami [pa] rin syempre) yun lang muna sa ngayon. Hope you understand. @luckymanzano."

Jennylyn in her interviews said that she told Luis about the impending clash between their shows. She also said that they just love to joke around but both support each other no matter what. She also assured that there will be a healthy competition between them.

We will see in the coming days on who will emerge victorious between the two and their competing programs. One thing is for sure though--Jennylyn is the winner in Luis' heart.

Singer-actor Sam Milby will replace fellow Kapamilya Piolo Pascual as Eugene Domingo's leading man in Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel, an official entry to the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2013).

Piolo Pascual has to begged off from the project because of his busy schedule. However, he will still co-produced the movie via Spring Films, a production venture of Piolo, talent manager Erickson Raymundo, Shayne Sarte, and director Joyce Bernal.

He can't do the movie anymore because of his schedule kasi may ginagawa rin siyang mga pelikula ngayon. So meron kaming mga kailangang habulin schedule at hindi na siya nagma-match, so nag-decide naman kami to allow him not to do it na rin," Erickson Raymundo told ABS-CBN News.

Piolo Pascual, aside from being busy promoting for the internationally acclaimed film On the Job which opens August 28 in cinemas, is also filming for his first movie with actress Toni Gonzaga. The said project will also star Iza Calzado.

Both Eugene and Piolo were very happy that Sam accepted the role. Sam revealed that he was a big fan of the Kimmy Dora movies, that's why he was equally excited and pressured of doing the film since he knew that it has already established a lot of following.

Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel will take place a few years before the first Kimmy Dora film. The last installment of the Kimmy Dora trilogy, the movie will be a combination of mystery and comedy--more like a James Bond kind of movie gearing towards Austin Powers, Eugene revealed.

Judy Ann Santos to Host 'Bet on Your Baby' on ABS-CBN, Says Sorry to KathNiel Fans

Soap Opera Queen Judy Ann Santos is again set to take on the role of a host via new ABS-CBN kiddie game show Bet on Your Baby. 

In a report by TV Patrol on Friday, Judy Ann Santos said that she will take a short break after her teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala. Rumors about her switching networks were abound recently but Judy Ann said she has not made any decision yet.

"Hindi ko pa masasagot kasi gusto ko muna magpahinga siguro a couple of weeks. Gusto ko muna ibigay itong peace sa akin. Kasi medyo nawindang din ako for the past few weeks. I think I deserve to just relax and spend time with my kids and husband," Judy Ann said in a press conference held Thursday.

"But doors for ABS-CBN will always, always be open. I will never deny the fact that ABS-CBN is my mother network, my mother station," she said. In fact, ABS-CBN has its newest franchise, Bet on Your Baby in the bag for Juday after she returns from vacation.

Bet on Your Baby is an American television game show that is hosted by Melissa Peterman. The series premiered on ABC on April 13, 2013 wherein each episode features five families with toddlers between the ages of two to three-and-a-half years old, will play to see how well they can guess their child's next move in order to win money toward their college fund.

Meanwhile, Judy Ann said sorry to Kathryn and Daniel's fans for keeping them waiting for their idols' newest teleserye Got to Believe. 

"Kung sakali mang nasagasaan ko ang pag-ere ng Got to Believe, I am really sorry. Sorry for keeping you [KathNiel fans] waiting this long but next week, mapapanood niyo na po sila [pagkatapos ng Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala]."

Judy Ann also clarified that the pressure from Got to Believe fans has nothing to do with her decision to cut her comeback series short. 

"It was me and the management [who decided to end the soap earlier] and pagbigyan na natin ang mga bata, this is their moment to shine. Ang sa akin lang I was gone for two years and gusto kong mamaalam sa teleserye ng taas noo," she said.

Actress Jessy Mendiola sizzles on the recent ABS-CBN Trade Event as she performs the theme song of her upcoming teleserye Maria Mercedes with her leading men Jake Cuenca and Jason Abalos.

Jessy Mendiola is the one who sang and recorded the theme song which is arranged by Jonathan Manalo. The Philippine remake of Maria Mercedes is directed by Chito Roño and will premiere soon on ABS-CBN.

Jessy is very thankful because aside from the network trusting her the iconic role and letting her sing the theme song, the original Maria Merceds, Mexican superstar Thalia has also given her blessing to Jessy. Thalia, via Skype, wished the actress, the cast and crew good luck.
