The Reunion - 'Bagets of the New Generation' is a Coming-of-Age Comedy Flick

Star Cinema pumps up the silverscreen with its ultimate ‘barkada’ movie event of the year titled “The Reunion,” which gathers four of the most promising actors of their generation–Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, Kean Cipriano, and Xian Lim. “The Reunion is set to hit cinemas on August 15 (Wednesday).

Directed by Frasco Mortiz, “The Reunion” is a coming-of-age comedy flick that follows the adventures and misadventures of Lloyd (Enchong), Bogs (Enrique), Pat (Kean), and Joax (Xian) after their life in high school and now as they struggle to pursue their passion for music and their respective life goals.

“The movie will present the journey of a high school barkada who reunited after so many years to trace back their lives and search for the things that went wrong and the people that they’ve hurt in order to change their future,” said Direk Frasco.

Meanwhile, lead stars Xian and Enrique shared that the whole cast are so thrilled to finally watch their film which is said to be inspired by the hit songs of the legendary 90′s Pinoy rock band, Eraserheads.

“It’s like the ‘Bagets’ of the new generation, so expect a lot of comedy. It’s a tale of friends simply having fun,” said Enrique. Xian, on the other hand, further shared how excited they are to hear what their fans had to say about their film. He said, “I really hope that a lot of people will get entertained with our movie. It has a great cast and an equally great director.”

Two New 'The Reunion' Movie Posters Unveiled!

Star Cinema has released two new posters for the upcoming movie The Reunion. After Trip  and Jologs, The Reunion will be this generations ultimate barkada movie.

The Reunion  follows the story of high school friends played by Enchong Dee, Xian Lim, Enrique Gil and Kean Cipriano who will get into a road trip after their reunion. On their journey, they will meet their past love and will try to make amends for their past mistakes.

No Other Woman Premieres on Cinema One this July 29

The blockbuster drama about love and infidelity, “No Other Woman”, starring Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsay premieres on Cinema One this Sunday (July 29).

Directed by Ruel Bayani, “No Other Woman” is about a man’s journey to achieving his lifelong goal for his family but along the way, yields into temptation. Ram Escaler (Derek Ramsay), a dashing furniture salesman is married to a charming and responsible woman, Charmaine Escaler (Cristine Reyes). Ram is drawn however, to Kara Zalderiaga (Anne Curtis), a drop-dead gorgeous resort heiress because of her carefree attitude.

According to a review written by Abby Mendoza of Philippine Entertainment Portal, “In No Other Woman, not one of the women comes off as a victim. Neither is stigmatized by the man who cheats them. Instead they come off as empowered beings who confront their battles and fight for their relationships. They endure.”

Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, the film about love, passion, deceit and obsession premieres on the number one cable channel in the Philippines, Cinema One on Sunday (July 29) with special back to back screening at 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Cinema One is available on SkyCable Gold, SkyCable Silver and other quality cable operators nationwide.

Star Cinema's The Reunion Full Trailer Released

The full trailer for Star Cinema's upcoming barkada movie, The Reunion starring Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, Xian Lim and Kean Cipriano has been uploaded on YouTube. The said movie is about a group of high school friends looking for the true meaning of love and happiness. 

"Isa siyang barkada movie na ipapakita ang journey ng isang grupo na close friends noong high school, several years later magkikita sila ulit. Doon ipapakita ang journey nila sa paghahanap ng tunay na kaligayahan. May ginawa kasi silang kasalanan noong high school at feeling nila kaya di pa sila nakakapag-move on sa buhay nila ngayon dahil sa nangyari before," says director Frasco Mortiz.

The Reunion will also pay tribute to OPM, mostly songs from the '90s spectacular band, Eraserheads. The Reunion soundtrack album paying homage to Eraserheads has been a success after its May 9 release.

'Dahil Sa Pag-ibig' Finale Wins National TV Ratings

ABS-CBN’s consistent top-rating drama series “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” topbilled by Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Cristine Reyes, Maricar Reyes, and Christopher de Leon has successfully glued its avid viewers on their TV sets until its final episode. 

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media last Friday (June 29), the program’s grand finale garnered a national TV rating of 33.9% compared to its rival program on GMA, “One True Love” which only got 12.1%. 

The final episode stirred a lot of tension among fans as the Zaguirres put the life of Leo Valderama (Christopher) on the line after discovering that the governor was the one who murdered Edson’s (Rafael Rosell) father. 

Through Divine intervention, Fr. Alfred (Piolo) rescued his adoptive father despite all of his mistakes. Because of this, Leo realized how much his son loved him and decided to accept the punishment of all the bad things that he has done.

FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2012 Complete List

FHM Philippines has just released its complete list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2012. Sam Pinto  was hailed as FHM's sexiest for 2 consecutive years, being the third lucky girl to top the FHM sexiest poll twice. The other two being Angel Locsin (2005 and 2010) and Katrina Halili (2006 and 2007).

Sam Pinto was closely followed by Angel Locsin. Solenn Heussaff, Cristine Reyes, Marian Rivera, Ellen Adarna, Jackie Rice, Bela Padilla, Jennylyn Mercado and Lovi Poe completed the top 10.

Sam Pinto Tops FHM Sexiest Women in the World 2012 List

Sam Pinto defended her crown as the Philippines' sexiest in FHM's Sexiest Women in the World 2012 poll. Sam Pinto beat Angel Locsin to seal her back-to-back win as the Philippines' sexiest for 2012.

Sam Pinto garnered a total of 1,249,189 votes against Angel Locsin's 1,131,505 votes at the end of the voting period. It was indeed a head-to-head battle between the two. Angel Locsin topped the poll on FHM's 1st and 2nd updates but Sam Pinto overtook Angel Locsin on the 3rd and last update before the voting ended on June 5.

Cristine Reyes Apologizes to Ara Mina in Public

Actress Cristine Reyes made a public apology to her sister Ara Mina on The Buzz, June 24. Cristine and Ara had a rift months ago with the latter filing a libel and grave coercion case against Cristine (read story here).

In a live interview with The Buzz on Sunday, Cristine aired her sincere apology to sister Ara Mina.

“I’m sorry and I would like to apologize if ever I offended you, sumama ang loob mo sa akin. I tried my best na pumunta sa iyo, alam mo iyan ate. Sinabi ko pa iyan sa ‘yo na kung gusto mo luluhod ako sa harapan mo. Sana lumambot na ang puso mo sa akin para maayos na itong gulo, para tahimik na, para sa ikakatahimik ng pamilya natin.” 

Ara demanded through a counter-affidavit that Cristine make a public apology before she seat in a reconciliation talk with her younger sister (read Ara's statement here).

Cristine is hopeful that she can iron out things with sister Ara for the sake of their mother. Cristine admitted her wrong and said that the rift with Ara is a learning experience for her.

“Sa lahat ng experiences, troubles, problems sa buhay, na-realize ko na huwag tayong susuko. Bawat problema, may natututunan ako. Doon ako tumitibay. Kasama siya sa buhay talaga eh. Boring ang buhay kapag walang problema, lahat tayo dumadaan diyan.”

'Dahil Sa Pag-ibig' Down to Its Last 4 Weeks

The teleserye Dahil Sa Pag-ibig is nearing its finale. It will be the last 4 weeks for the said teleserye topbilled by Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Cristine Reyes, Maricar Reyes, Denise Laurel, Rafael Rosell and Mr. Christopher De Leon.

The said news was confirmed by Father Alfred Valderama himself, Piolo Pascual in a recent interview with ABS-CBN news. On the last 4 weeks of Dahil Sa Pag-ibig, Piolo said that the cast is very much excited for all the revelations that will come along the series' journey to finale.

"We're so excited dahil malapit na matapos. Ito na 'yung part ng soap na pinakamahirap because a lot of revelations, a lot of conflicts will be resolved," he said.

Dahil Sa Pag-ibig premiered last March 12, 2012 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida replacing advocacy-serye Budoy. It paved the way for the launching of Ella Cruz (who played the young Jasmin Valderama played by Cristine Reyes) as a new primetime princess.

Now that this series is nearing its end, we can expect a lot more revelations and intense scenes. Will Oliver finally learn that Alfred is his long-lost brother and the only family he was left with? What will happen to Jasmin and Leo Valderama?

Last year's FHM sexiest Sam Pinto is still leading the 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll as of May 25. Sam Pinto maintained her spot at #1 followed by Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin.

Angel Locsin Maintains Top Post in FHM 100 Sexiest 2012 Update

Angel Locsin is still leading in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World as of FHM's 2nd update, May 11. The award-winning actress maintains being on top of the list, beating last year's sexiest Sam Pinto who is now  in 2nd place.

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera went 2 notches down (from no. 3 to no. 5). Another Kapuso actress, Jennylyn Mercado snatched her position at no. 3 while hot Kapamilya star Cristine Reyes jumped from no. 7 to no. 4, bringing Ellen Adarna, Sollen Heusaff, Bela Padilla and Bangs Garcia to the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th place respectively. Another Kapamilya, Toni Gonzaga entered the Top 10, replacing Jackie Rice at the 10th place.

ASAP 2012 is all set to pay tribute to all moms in the world this Sunday (May 13) as it celebrates Mother’s Day with some of the biggest names in showbiz industry.

Cristine Reyes Reviving Feud with Sarah Geronimo?

Dahil Sa Pag-ibig star Cristine Reyes might spark another war with the Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo after her controversial revelations on the May 2012 issue of YES! Magazine (see what Cristine has to say on Sarah on the mag's cover).

In an interview with Yes! magazine, Cristine revealed that it wasn't Rayver who first broke Sarah's heart as the singer-actress first fell in and out of love with "a director and a star."

Cristine revealed:

"Do'n ako parang nabo-bother. Kasi, parang hindi niya naman first heartbreak si Rayver, pero binuhos niya lahat kay Rayver ang galit niya sa lalaki."

Cristine Reyes also backed Rayver on the two-timing issue and said that Rayver and Sarah broke up in the summer of 2010 while she and the actor became sweethearts on September of the same year.

Another big revelation of Cristine is that Sarah allegedly demanded that Rayver Cruz be taken out of any song-and-dance number in the ABS-CBN Sunday musical variety show, ASAP. 

Cristine dropped the bomb:

"Nag-break sila summer, naging kami September. Bakit noong  summer pa lang hindi siya naggagaganyan? No'ng naging kami, saka lang siya naggagaganyan? Di ba, parang ano ba yon? 

"So yon yung problema niya, hindi kami ang problema niya. Kasi, kaya ako nagalit, September naging kami na, December binibira-bira pa niya [ si Rayver] sa ASAP. Parang pinaparinggan sa microphone, ganyan-ganyan. Hindi ko na na-take yon, parang 'grabe ka na, sobra ka na.'' 

"Minsan nawala pa 'yan [Rayver] sa ASAP. Alam n'yo ba na ang nagpapakain sa family niya is ASAP, 'tapos 'papatanggal mo?"

With Cristine's frank statements, it will surely fire up another controversy between her and Sarah. What could be the Popstar Princess' answer to this revelations by Cristine?
