Lorenzo's Time Finale Hits Record High TV Ratings

ABS-CBN’s recently concluded Primetime Bida drama series “Lorenzo’s Time” ended on a high note as its final episode on October 5 garnered 27.8% national TV ratings. 

It trounced the farewell episode of its rival program in GMA “One True Love” which only got 16.9% national TV ratings. 

Aside from the ratings game, the show also won the hearts of the netizens as hashtag ‘#LorenzosTime’ became a nationwide top trending topic in the popular microblogging site Twitter, where emotional tweets flooded about the touching final moments of Enzo (Zaijan Jaranilla) with his loved ones. 

Aside from Zaijan, also part of the cast are Carmina Villaroel, Ms. Gina Pareño, Joel Torre, Alfred Vargas, James Blanco, Rommel Padilla, Tess Antonio, Kakai Bautista, Gerard Acao, Vino Martinez, Belle Mariano, and Ms. Amy Austria-Ventura. It is under the direction of Jerome Chavez Pobocan and Tots Mariscal Sanchez.

Kantar Media (October 1-4) TV Ratings: Princess and I and Be Careful With My Heart on Top

ABS-CBN's Princess and I and Be Careful with My Heart reigned on primetime and daytime, respectively on October 1 to 4 according to the ratings data from Kantar Media/TNS.

In the past months, ABS-CBN has always occupied the Top 5 primetime slots with Walang Hanggan, Princess and I, TV Patrol, Aryana and Lorenzo's Time which aired its final episode on October 5.

Lorenzo's Time Finale Episode Airs October 5, Carmina Villaroel Emotional

Actress-TV host Carmina Villaroel recently admitted that she is saddened with the approaching finale of her top-rating primetime drama series “Lorenzo’s Time,” which she co-stars with ABS-CBN’s child wonder, Zaijan Jaranilla.

“I’m really sad that it’s ending. But I’m glad and very thankful that through this show, I was starred with Zaijan,” said Carmina who values “Lorenzo’s Time” as it is her first teleserye since she returned to ABS-CBN. “When I saw Zaijan in ‘May Bukas Pa,’ I truly wished that I’ll have the chance to work with him. So when I received the offer to be part of ‘Lorenzo’s Time,’ I just said, ‘it’s a dream come true.”

Carmina confessed how she is amazed with Zaijan’s talent as an actor. “He is one-of-a-kind. His style of acting breaks through your heart, you’ll easily get carried away with his emotions. His talent is just pure,” she shared.

Now that “Lorenzo’s Time” goes down to its last week, the plot continues to thicken as Enzo’s rare disease is back. How will his brother Archie (James Blanco) and his bestfriend Kathy (Carmina) help him get through this ordeal? Will Enzo be cured or will he die in the end?

“Lorenzo’s Time” will air its final episode on October 5.

Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi Plan to Get Married this Year

After 14 years, “Lorenzo’s Time” lead star Carmina Villaroel and her long-time life partner Zoren Legaspi plan to finally tie the knot this year through a civil wedding as Carmina herself recently confirmed.

“I do not want a big wedding firstly because we are both shy. We want it to be really simple with only our families in attendance,” she said.

According to Carmina, despite the absence of marriage, she is very happy with her life with Zoren and their twins Mavy at Cassy. “It’s not a typical relationship. Zoren is a perfect match for me because he always understands me and lets me be myself. I won’t be who I am today without him,” she said.

Meanwhile, Carmina’s birthday this year was made memorable by the staff and her co-stars in the top-rating Primetime Bida teleserye of ABS-CBN, “Lorenzo’s Time.”

“I celebrated my birthday on our taping. It’s so much fun because they all sang for me, I had my birthday cake, there were balloons, and we did nothing but eat,” shared Carmina.

Lorenzo's Time Pilot Ranks 2nd in Mega Manila TV Ratings

Zaijian Jaranilla and Carmina Villaroel's starrer, Lorenzo's Time debuted on a high note in Mega Manila according to the ratings data provided by AGB Nielsen. 

Lorenzo's Time pilot episode ranked 2nd on Monday, July 2 among Mega Manila households garnering 26.4%, next to Walang Hanggan's 29.7%. The show, despite a later timeslot managed to surpass Princess and I. 

Lorenzo's Time replaced Dahil Sa Pag-ibig on its timeslot and maintained the momentum set up by the latter which concluded with a national TV rating of 33.9%. Lorenzo's Time got a rating of 29.2% nationwide on its pilot episode.

Kantar Media (June 29-July 2) TV Ratings: Primetime Bida and Kapamilya Gold Reign

ABS-CBN Primetime Bida remained as the country's most-watched block on television according to the latest ratings data (June 29-July 2) provided by Kantar Media.

Dahil Sa Pag-ibig finale episode garnered 33.9%, landing on top 3 most-watched programs last June 29 after Walang Hanggan and Princess and I. On Monday (July 2), Dahil Sa Pag-ibig's replacement, Lorenzo's Time also registered a high rating of 29.2%, debuting at the 4th spot.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya Gold is now leading the daytime pack with Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo no. 1, beating Eat Bulaga which now ranks 2nd followed by Hiyas and Mundo Man Ay Magunaw.

Lorenzo's Time Premieres July 2 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida

Kapamilya child wonder Zaijan Jaranilla and seasoned actress and TV host Carmina Villaroel topbill ABS-CBN’s newest and first-of-its-kind Primetime Bida drama series titled Lorenzo’s Time.

Also starring in the new teleserye are Ms. Gina Pareño, Alfred Vargas, Belle Mariano, James Blanco, Joel Torre, Rommel Padilla, and Amy Austria-Ventura. It is under the direction of Jerome Chavez Pobocan and Claudio 'Tots' Sanchez Mariscal IV.

Lorenzo's Time Full Trailer, Released!

ABS-CBN has just released the trailer for Lorenzo's Time, an upcoming Primetime Bida offering starring Zaijian Jaranilla and Carmina Villaroel. The full trailer of Lorenzo's Time premiered June 15 before Walang Hanggan.

In Lorenzo's Time, Zaijian will play leading man to returning Kapamilya Carmina Villaroel. Carmina (Kat-Kat) and Zaijian's characters are childhood friends but the sick Enzo (Zaijian) who's stricken with progeria (a rare genetic condition wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age) had to undergo cryonics. When he woke up, the people around him have aged but he himself have kept the same physical features.

Watch the full trailer of Lorenzo's Time below. The trailer was made more dramatic and heartwarming with the song Times of Your Life sung by Martin Nievera.

Other members of the cast include Ms. Gina Pareño, Joel Torre, Alfred Vargas, James Blanco, Rommel Padilla, introducing Belinda Mariano and Ms. Amy Austria-Ventura. It is directed by Jerome Chavez Pobocan, the director of ABS-CBN's big hits, May Bukas Pa, Mara Clara and Nasaan Ka, Elisa?

10 New ABS-CBN Teleseryes to Watch Out For

ABS-CBN is gearing up for a packed 2012 as it lines up ten new television series that will fill up the network's Kapamilya Gold and Primetime Bida blocks.

And these are only the ones announced or hinted at by their starring actors.

Lorenzo's Time

Starring: Zaijan Jaranilla, Carmina Villaroel, Diether Ocampo

What we know so far: Jaranilla plays a boy suffering from progeria, a rare genetic condition wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age. Also starring: Alfred Vargas, Gina Pareno, Amy Austria, Joel Torre; 

Status: Slated for July 2012 release  

Ina, Kapatid, Anak

Starring: Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, Xian Lim

What we know so far: "Labanan ng yaman, 'yun ang sigurado," Dee said. "Ina," which will see Chiu and Salvador as feisty females, will also revolve around the shoe-making industry -- the principal characters' source of riches. Also starring: Janice de Belen, Rayver Cruz, Cherry Pie Picache, Ronaldo Valdez, Eddie Gutierrez, Jayson Gainza; 

Status: Filming

Kahit Puso'y Masugatan

Starring: Andi Eigenmann, Iza Calzado, Jake Cuenca, Gabby Concepcion

What we know so far: Eigenmann and Calzado's characters are street kids and best of friends growing up. Eigenmann's character goes on to have a better life as she is adopted by Concepcion's character, while Calzado continues to portray a woman who has a "simple life."

Precious Hearts Romances: Isla

Starring: Matteo Guidicelli, Jessy Mendiola, Jewel Mische

What we know so far: The show is the latest in the series of ABS-CBN's "PHR" offerings. "Isang love triangle with Jessy and Jewel,” Guidicelli said. For Mendiola, it's a departure from her sweet image, as the soap is about "romance" and will feature sexy scenes. 

Status: Unannounced  

Untitled series starring "Papa Chen"

Starring: Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, Mutya Orquia

What we know so far: The soap will see Yap take on his first leading role in a series, following his stint as "Papa Chen" and his guest-starring role in "Walang Hanggan." After playing Sophia in "100 Days to Heaven," Sta. Maria will also headline the series along with Orquia of the "Mutya" the mermaid fame. 

Status: Officially announced (rumored title: Bituing Hulog ng Langit)

Untitled water-themed soap starring Piolo Pascual

Also starring: Angelica Panganiban, Diether Ocampo

What we know so far: Pascual said the "big" series will be "very physically challenging" and will feature "water elements." The soap is among the network's high-concept shows and will "go places," the hunk actor added.


Status: Unannounced (rumored titles: Apoy Sa Dagat and Mariposang Dagat)

Against All Odds

Starring: Judy Ann Santos, KC Concepcion, Sam Milby

What we know so far: The teleserye queen says "Against All Odds" will "empower women," as she will play a "relatable" character that will inspire mothers and housewives. Also starring: John Estrada, Mylene Dizon, Jessy Mendiola, Joseph Marco, Bryan Termulo, Tirso Cruz III and Coney Reyes.

Status: Officially announced 

A Beautiful Affair

Starring: John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo

What we know so far: Four years since "I Love Betty La Fea," Cruz and Alonzo will be reunited for the new TV project, whose pilot episode will feature scenes in Vienna, Austria. Filming for the soap started in May and is expected for a release later in the year.

Status: Filming

Precious Hearts Romances: Pintada

Starring: Martin del Rosario, Denise Laurel, Lem Pelayo, Yen Santos

What we know so far: The Kapamilya Gold series sees the first on-screen team-up of Del Rosario and Laurel. The newest "PHR" soap is a "coming-of-age" story that will depict a student who falls in love with his teacher, according to Laurel.

Status: Officially announced

Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto

Starring: JM de Guzman, Charee Pineda, Kaye Abad, John Prats

What we know so far: Prats joins the original cast in the sequel to the successful afternoon soap. Angelito (De Guzman) and Rosalie (Pineda), who becomes a teacher, will get married; while Jenny (Abad) finds a new love in her childhood best friend (Prats).

Zaijian Jaranilla Back on Teleserye with 'Lorenzo's Time' (Teaser)

Meanwhile, this will be Diether and Carmina's reunion teleserye. It can be recalled that the two topbill then ABS-CBN afternoon series, Recuerdo De Amor (Alaala ng Pag-ibig).

There is no definite airing schedule for Lorenzo's Time but probably, it will replace Dahil Sa Pag-ibig (but will air at an earlier time slot) which is now down to its last 4 weeks.

'Lorenzo's Time' To be Topbilled by Carmina Villaroel and Zaijian Jaranilla

Carmina Villaroel will work with Zaijian Jaranilla in her very first teleserye in the Kapamilya network. According to online sources, the said series will be a fantaserye tentatively titled Lorenzo's Time but according to ABS-CBN news, Zaijian's teleserye is first titled Frozen Boy (read related post here).


The concept of Lorenzo's Time will revolve around a boy who had undergone cryonics (freezing under negative temperatures) and when the time comes that he was released from being frozen, all his company had aged, even the child yet his body remained preserved as a boy. Zaijian will be Carmina's leading man (how it happened, that is what we need to find out in the series).

Based on inside reports, Carmina and Zaijian's teleserye is also said to star Diether Ocampo, Ms. Gina Pareño, Alfred Vargas, Joel Torre and Amy Austria. 

This will be Zaijian's primetime comeback after his very successful debut in May Bukas Pa and challenging roles in Noah and Ikaw Ay Pag-ibig. Meanwhile, this will be Diether and Carmina's reunion teleserye.
