One More Try is the "sexiest kind of family drama," Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board

Posted on December 23, 2012 | 9:26 AM

Award-winning director Ruel S. Bayani describes his newest masterpiece “One More Try,” starred by Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban, as a unique family drama that will touch the hearts of moviegoers in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

“One More Try,” which is graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, will hit cinemas nationwide on Tuesday, Christmas day (December 25).

One More Try is Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board

“It is still a unique kind of family drama. Yes, nandoon iyong sexy adult theme. Nandoon ang love scenes at ‘yung sex appeal nung apat na main cast,” shared Bayani, who was so impressed with the performance of Angel, Dingdong, Zanjoe and Angelica in the movie. “I would say that it is the sexiest kind of family drama. I think, umuusok siya sa screen. Bumagay ang mga actors ko sa roles nila. Casting coup ito!”

Bayani, who was also the director of the box-office hit “No Other Woman,” believes that the unique and brave narrative of “One More Try” is perfect to be seen by families during Christmas.

“One More Try’ is a movie that will be enjoyed be a lot of people. Kapupulutan ito ng aral at paghuhugutan ng inspirasyon ng maraming pamilyang Pilipino,” said Bayani. “Here, they will discover that a true Filipino family stays together. They go through a crisis and survive that crisis together and they become better people after.”

Bayani further shared that the beauty of ‘One More Try’ lies on the message it imparts to the moviegoers. “Hindi regalo o gayak ang tunay na diwa ng Pasko, kundi ang pagsasama ng pamilya kahit saan, kahit anuman ang mangyari,” he said. “Kaya tamang-tama para sa Pasko ang pelikulang ito dahil makikita dito kung paano magagawa ng isang pamilya ang lahat para sa minamahal nila at kung paano maipararamdam sa mahal mo na hindi mo siya iiwan at lalaban kayong magkasama.”

Aside from Angel, Dingdong, Zanjoe and Angelica, “One More Try” also stars Carmina Villarroel, Agot Isidro, Edward Mendez, and Gina Pareño.

Experience love that makes you do the impossible and accept the unacceptable, don’t miss “One More Try,” along with Star Cinema’s “Sisterakas,” which will hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.

Without You, the movie's theme song was originally done by Joey Albert and previously recorded by Martin Nievera and Karylle. It was recorded again for the movie by Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs, Angeline Quinto. The official soundtrack has not been released yet but you can have a glimpse of the song listening to Karylle's version (lyrics below).

Without You (One More Try OST) lyrics

Without you, to hold me
And heal my heart
To guide me, and keep me
From falling apart

My life is, so empty
So hollow, and cold
Footsteps, and echoes
Have no where to go

Without you, without you
I know, I'm all alone
I can't, go on this way
Day by day
Without you, without you
I know, I'm all alone
I can't, go on this way
Day by day
Without you

Who am I? What am I to do?
My life's out of focus, and so out of use
I need you, to give me
The strength to go on
The reason, for hope
And writing this song

Without you, without you
I know, I'm all alone
I can't, go on this way
Day by day

(Instrumental)

Without you, without you
I know, I'm all alone
I can't, go on this way
Day by day
Without you, without you
I know, I'm all alone
I can't, go on this way
Day by day

Angel Locsin Longing For a Teleserye, Packed with Movies

Posted on August 30, 2012 | 5:54 PM

Blessings are pouring in on actress Angel Locsin with the many film projects given to her. The actress however wishes to be back in doing teleseryes.

Her last project was a back-to-back team-up with John Lloyd Cruz in the teleserye “Imortal” and in the film “Unofficially Yours”. This year, she was given two movies to work on – “One More Try”, a film that will join the Manila Film Fest this December and a horror-comedy film which co-stars Vhong Navarro.

Angel Locsin Next Teleserye 2013

According to the actress however, the aspired teleserye won’t arrive this year. “There are plans but it won’t be this year. Most likely next year,” said Angel.

“I really enjoy doing films, but since I’m a breadwinner, I want to be able to save up,” she added. Despite this, the actress is positive that next year is the best time for a teleserye because it would be difficult for her to manage it with her upcoming films.

Meanwhile, contrary to her success in real life, her character, Isabel Padausdos in “TODA Max” will undergo depression for being unemployed for six months. The whole neighborhood will try their best not to make Isabel (Angel) feel useless by not mentioning anything related to being jobless.

Justin’s (Vhong) previous employee Hap wants to go back to work in his carinderia but Justin has already hired Benjo (Benjie Paras) to replace him. Unbeknown to many, Benjo is Hap’s half brother and the two are not in good terms. Their strife will get worse because of the job and will result to a mixed martial arts fight.

How will Isabel move on from her depression? Will the brothers Hap and Benjo ever make peace? Find out this Saturday (September 1) on “TODA Max” after “X Factor Philippines” on ABS-CBN.

Angel Locsin and Dingdong Dantes Topbill 'One More Try' along with Angelica and Zanjoe

Posted on May 9, 2012 | 1:01 PM

Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin will star in a movie tentatively titled One More Try opposite Kapuso hunk Dingdong Dantes. The said movie project will also star Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo under Star Cinema.

One More Try - Angel, Dingdong, Angelica Zanjoe
Angel Locsin stars opposite Dingdong Dantes with
Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo in the movie One More Try
Yesterday, May 8 Dingdong Dantes attended the story conference for their movie One More Try. Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo were also present in the story con, as well as the movie director, Ruel S. Bayani. However, Angel Locsin was unable to attend due to previous commitments.

The movie One More Try is said to be more daring compared to previous Ruel Bayani hit, No Other Woman. The story is so compelling and one that is not common, according to the lead actors.

“Hubad lang kami dito all the way, hindi kami nakadamit. Sobrang sexy eh,” said Angelica Panganiban, kidding aside.

“Hindi siya common na mangyari, plus the fact na napakaganda ng storya, so we’ll give our best in this one,” exclaimed Dingdong.

In One More Try, Dingdong and Angelica are married to each other but their characters will be romantically involved with the characters played by Angel Locsin and Zanjoe Marudo.

Dingdong said that he was very fortunate to be given another chance to do a movie with Star Cinema. It can be recalled that 2 of Dingdong's movie are co-produced and distributed by Star Cinema - Kimmy Dora and Segunda Mano where Dingdong received his first Best Actor award in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011.

“I feel very fortunate that I was given another chance. I’m very excited,” Dingdong was quoted as saying in an interview with ABS-CBN News during the story conference held on May 8. “I’m happy to work with Star Cinema again because they gave me such a wonderful experience exactly a year ago.”

Could this movie project give Dingdong another Best Actor trophy or Angel and Angelica another acting award? Will this also be Zanjoe's track to clinching one acting accolade? Only the stars know.

In lieu with this movie project, rumor has it that Marian Rivera fans are now worried since it is not only Angel Locsin that will be paired up with Dingdong but also an equally hot and appealing Angelica Panganiban. Dingdong, however said that Marian will surely support him in this movie even with doing the sexy scenes with his lead actresses.
