Joey and Kempee de Leon Visits 'Toda Max' this March 9

Keempee has played a lot of homosexual roles before but according to him, most of these only landed to him by chance. “I’m not very picky with work. Whatever is given to me, I’ll do it if I can. If these roles make the viewers happy, why not do it?” he said.

He will be joined by the look-alike of his father who won in the “Kaloka-like” segment of It’s Showtime.

In the episode entitled “Dis Gay’s in Lab With You Justin”, a smart and witty gay called Wella (Keempee) will arrive in Beverly Gil’s to temporarily drive Tol’s (Robin Padilla) tricycle so that Justin (Vhong Navarro) will have extra income to pay for his debt to Lady G (Pokwang). Because Wella is superb in handling several small businesses all at the same time, Justin will ask help from him in managing his restaurant. The two will be inseparable, causing Justin to lose time for his girlfriend Isabel (Angel Locsin).

Has Justin fallen in love with Wella already? Find out on “Toda Max” this Saturday (March 9) after “Maalaala Mo Kaya” on ABS-CBN.

Viral Video: Jennie Escalada Impersonates Angel Locsin in Banana Split

Posted on February 9, 2013 | 1:35 PM

The video of Jennie Escalada impersonating Angel Locsin in the hit ABS-CBN gag show Banana Split has already gone viral.

Jennie, together with stand up comedy Iyah (who got her name by impersonating Iya Villania) did a very good job shifting her voice to that of Angel Locsin's and if you will close your eyes while listening to the video, you would think that it was really Angel who's talking.

Jennie Escalada

Jenny, who is one of the grand finalists in the 3rd (and last) season of GMA-7's Pinoy Pop Superstar which crowned Maricris Garcia as champion and Bryan Termulo as runner-up, also had the chance to act some scenes in the movie One More Try with original cast Zanjoe Marudo, who is part of Banana Split.

Watch Jennie Escalada's impersonation of Angel Locsin with Iyah in Banana Split below:

Billy Crawford Competes with Vhong Navarro for Angel Locsin's Heart in Toda Max (Feb 2)

Billy Crawford will guest on “Toda Max” this Saturday (February 2) where he will compete with Vhong Navarro in a series of showdowns to impress Angel Locsin.

Billy Crawford Competes with Vhong Navarro for Angel Locsin's Heart in Toda Max (Feb 2)

When asked if they face this kind of tight competition in real life, Vhong answered, “There’s no competition between me and Billy. We treat each other almost like siblings especially on It’s Showtime where we are co-hosts. We don’t feel insecure or jealous of each other at all,” he said.

“We have our own talents; for example, apart from dancing, he excels more in singing while I’m more experienced in comedy,” he added.

But will they be able to use these talents to impress Isabel (Angel) on “Toda Max”? Pao (Billy) will try to prove that he is more worthy of Isabel so he will challenge Justin (Vhong) to a basketball showdown. Just like in the teleserye “Princess and I”, spectators will be divided between ‘Team Pao’ and ‘Team Justin’. Who will win Princess Isabel’s hand in the end?

Find out in the “Princess and I” episode of “Toda Max” this Saturday (February 2) after “Maalaala Mo Kaya” on ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN 'Maria Mercedes' Philippine Remake to Air this Year

Posted on January 16, 2013 | 10:57 AM

ABS-CBN will finally air this 2013 the much-awaited Pinoy remake of one of the most-loved Mexican telenovela, Maria Mercedes. The series aired on ABS-CBN from August 1996 to April 1997.

Maria MercedesWho will play Maria and Jorge Luis in Maria Mercedes Philippine Remake?

Maria Mercedes is the first of the "Marias" telenovela trilogy followed by Maria la Del Barrio and Marimar, all of which starred Thalia. It is a story of a poor girl who is abandoned with her brothers and sister by her ambitious mother. Because of the lack of support from her perennially drunk father, she is forced to raise her brothers and sister on her own, working in the streets of Mexico City selling lottery tickets and flowers. Maria will fall in love with a rich guy named Jorge Luis.

ABS-CBN is already done remaking Maria La Del Barrio which was topbilled by Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee while GMA had Marimar (initially for Angel Locsin before she transferred to ABS-CBN) which launched the career of Marian Rivera. Now, it's time for another Maria to hit Philippine television.

There are no reports yet on who will play the title role of Maria Mercedes but last year, it was rumored that Andi Eigenmann will be playing Maria with Martin del Rosario as his leading man.

There are also reports claiming that Angel Locsin will be playing Maria Mercedes while Jericho Rosales will be playing her leading man Jorge Luis. However, all of these are mere rumors and no official confirmation yet from the network on who will be playing the lead roles.

According to byxspeaks, auditions are now being held for the other characters in the remake of Maria Mercedes, which will air sometime soon in 2013.

Are you excited for Maria Mercedes Pinoy remake? Who do you think will fit the role of Maria?

Angel Locsin and Bea Alonzo Movie in the Works

Posted on January 13, 2013 | 5:43 PM

Angel Locsin and Bea Alonzo are set to star in an upcoming movie this 2013. Bea, herself confirmed in an interview with showbiz insider MJ Felipe that the said Star Cinema movie is already in the works.

According to reports, the Angel-Bea movie will start shooting this February although information on the story and their roles are still scarce. What we know is that the movie will surely be a huge one with the combined dramatic prowess of these two amazing actresses.

Angel Locsin and Bea Alonzo to star in one movie

In an earlier interview with Push, Bea said that she's up to a competition with Angel, but a healthy one. Working with an acclaimed actress such as Angel, who's nominated at the International Emmy's is a privilege, according to her.

"Kung magkakaroon man ng competition, healthy competition siguro para ma-push namin yung isa’t isa beyond our limits. Hindi ako magpapakaimpokrita at sabihing wala talaga lalo na dahil magka-batch kami. But it’s a healthy competition and I wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to her. Siyempre ang gusto ko yung pareho kaming may maipapakitang bago. I think she’s a good actress. Siyempre na-nominate nga siya sa International Emmy Awards ‘di ba? Who wouldn’t want to work with someone like her?"

It is not known whether the planned Angel-Bea-Angelica-Toni movie will still push through although Angel and Angelica had already worked together in One More Try so it's now time for both Angel and Bea to star in one movie.

Are you excited for this movie? Bet it's one hell of a blast!

Pokwang, Lucky in Love with British Suitor?

Posted on January 12, 2013 | 8:41 AM

Pokwang has just confirmed the arrival of her British suitor this month. Will she finally find love this year?
Pokwang: Is she lucky in love this year?
“We’re just taking things slow. I think it’s important that we get to know each other more before jumping into a relationship,” she said. Although she admitted that there’s nothing romantic going on between them yet, the comedienne said that she’s hopeful that she’ll find love soon.

Apart from this, Pokwang hopes for another bountiful year and good health. “I would like to thank the Lord for the blessings I have received last year and I pray that they will continue this year. I also pray for good health for me and my loved ones.”

Unlike Pokwang who wishes for good health, her character in “Toda Max” will threaten lives this Saturday (January 12). In her belief that water snakes are lucky this year, Lady G (Pokwang) will scatter snakes all over the neighborhood causing the reptiles to go on a biting spree. The victims will be rescued however by Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Dr. Milby (Sam Milby), a foreign doctor who’s in the country for an outreach program. The latter will be impressed by Isabel’s courage that he’ll ask her out for a date.

Will Isabel ditch her boyfriend Justin (Vhong Navarro) for the handsome doctor? Find out on “Toda Max” this Saturday (January 12) after “Maalaala Mo Kaya” on ABS-CBN.

MMFF 2012 Awards Night: Angel Locsin and Nora Aunor in a Tight Race for Best Actress

Superstar Nora Aunor and award-winning actress Angel Locsin are in a neck-to-neck battle for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2012) Best Actress trophy. The awards night will happen Thursday, December 27 at the Meralco Theater.

Angel Locsin and Nora Aunor for MMFF 2012 Best Actress

Nora Aunor has been the front-runner to win Best Actress for her performance in Thy Womb as a Badjao midwife who is coping with her infertility by acting as a match-maker to his husband and the one that could give him a child. Ate Guy has won several accolades in international film festivals for the film and it would be safe to assume that she's a top contender for Best Actress in MMFF.

Meanwhile, One More Try lead actress Angel Locsin is also getting the Best Actress buzz for her role as Grace, a single mother who will do anything to save his ill child. Moviegoers who got to watch the film strongly believed that Angel's performance is worthy of an acting award.

Angelica Panganiban might also be up for the Best Actress trophy but if she will be nominated as Best Supporting Actress, she has it in the bag. Zanjoe Marudo might also won for the award's male counterpart, having nailed his role as Tristan in the movie. However, Cesar Montano and Christopher de Leon also did well in the historical biopic El Presidente.

For the Best Actor category, many said that it will be between Gov. E.R. Ejercito (Jeorge Estregan) of El Presidente, Dingdong Dantes of One More Try, Enchong Dee of The Strangers and Vice Ganda of Sisterakas.

We predict that it will be a tie between Nora Aunor and Angel Locsin for Best Actress and the other acting awards will be shared by the three movies One More Try, Thy Womb and El Presidente.
